### Chapter 92: You Are a Hawthorne Wife

Nina Wainwright walked up to the men in suits and said politely, "Hello."

Mrs. Wainwright followed her, not daring to say a word now.

"We have a contract here we’d like you to sign. It’s fine if you don’t. We’ll just proceed with compulsory enforcement when the time comes." The man in the lead handed a document to Nina Wainwright.

Nina Wainwright saw the name of a bank written on the document.

"We go by what the contract stipulates. If you want to blame someone, blame your parents for signing it!" the man’s tone was aggressive.

Nina Wainwright handed the contract back to him. "Then I won’t sign. Just wait for the compulsory enforcement."

’If she signed it now, when the house was gone later, Raymond Wainwright and Mrs. Wainwright would definitely blame her again.’

"Nina, are you just going to let them take the house?" Mrs. Wainwright asked loudly when she saw Nina had no intention of resolving the issue.

"How am I supposed to handle it? By getting on my knees and begging Zachary Hawthorne for you?!" Nina Wainwright snapped.

When the men from the bank heard her mention Zachary Hawthorne several times, they knew not to push too hard. With grim faces, they just said, "Since you plan to let the bank handle it, we won’t force you."

After they left, Mrs. Wainwright immediately started crying, "So you’re just going to abandon us..."

"How am I supposed to handle thirty million?! I think you two are completely out of your minds! Have you forgotten how cornered we were last time over two million?!" Nina Wainwright was flushed with anger.

’Thirty million! How dare they take out a loan that big!’

"You don’t tell me when you take out the loan, but when the debt collectors show up, it’s my fault for not handling it?! Fine, I won’t handle it! You can solve the mess you made yourselves! Nina Wainwright shook her off, her eyes bloodshot. "You say that again and again! Every single time! I won’t help. If you feel you raised me for nothing, then take my life today! I don’t want to live anymore! With parents as reckless as you, I’d rather be dead!"

"Nina..." Mrs. Wainwright was a blubbering mess.

Nina Wainwright ignored her.

She quickly left the residential complex, hailed a cab, and got in.

As they neared Avelon Residence, her phone rang again.

Nina Wainwright saw it was another unknown number. Annoyed, she pressed the answer key. "Hello."

"Are you looking for your father? We have him. If you want to save him, bring the money," the person on the other end said coldly.

"Sorry, I don’t have any money," Nina Wainwright said gravely.

’Everything was a mess. She just wanted a peaceful life, not one that revolved only around money.’

"Nina Wainwright, we were the ones who tricked him into taking out the thirty-million loan. If you don’t come, you can just wait to collect his corpse," the person said with a vicious laugh.

"Who are you people? Why are you targeting our Wainwright Family?!" Nina Wainwright’s face turned cold, her tone laced with hatred.

The person chuckled. "You’re Zachary Hawthorne’s wife, right? Let me be honest with you. Zachary Hawthorne doesn’t really have any enemies... This was all part of our plan. The goal is to get you out of the Hawthorne Family."

Nina Wainwright’s lips pressed into a thin line.

’So it really wasn’t Raymond Wainwright’s fault this time... Was it because I married into the Hawthorne Family?’

"If I get out of the Hawthorne Family, who gets in? Miss Sterling?" Nina Wainwright asked calmly.

"Miss Sterling is pregnant with Zachary Hawthorne’s child, so she has to marry him. You didn’t really think... her child would be born illegitimate, did you?" the man asked with a laugh. "Thirty million, and your father will be fine."

With that, the other party hung up.

Nina Wainwright put down her phone and received a picture message.

"You think you’re worth that much? Your dad took out a loan from a legitimate bank. They wouldn’t go so far as to kidnap him. Can’t you even come up with a useful lie?!"
