Wait! How Did The Stray Dog I Picked Up Turn Into A Man?!

Noah played with the ring on his finger. A ring made out of black silver and had a wolf head on it.

He looked at it and smiled softly. He could see the sincerity in it and why he picked it.

"Sir, are you really serious about going against the elders?" Rhaegar questioned, looking disoriented and confused. "It’s never been done and never heard of, either."

His words made the smile on Noah’s lips fade into a cold frown, and he turned his chair around to face him.

"It’s never been done, yes. But now one said it’s impossible." Noah said. "Little by little, I will crush the elders’ circle and regain all power as the Alpha and the only one who has the final say in his pack. Are you doubting my conviction or do you simply not want to break out of the chains that bind you?"

Rhaeger frowned.

"Do you want to stay a slave forever?"

Rhaegar couldn’t answer that question and simply clenched his fists.

He was Noah’s Beta but it wasn’t like he ever liked to live as his subordinate from the start.

’If he says something like that, it only justifies my actions this far.’ Rhaegar thought.

His eyes turned dark but he quickly closed them and then sighed, standing at attention and putting his hands behind his back.

Just as Noah had been raised as the perfect Alpha, he had been raised as the absolute beta who was to tend to the needs of his Alpha at all times.

He was at his beck and call, with a high status but a duty that was no different from a slave’s.

From there, he grew obsessed with getting recognition and breaking out of the chains of a servant for the Alpha. He... Wanted to be more than that.

"I understand, Alpha Noah." Rhaegar said, acting submissive as he always did and Noah glanced at him long and hard.

He knew his secret and knew what he had in mind. But for now, he would continue to play his game till he found a reason to get rid of him.

Michael opened his eyes and raised his upper body, the blanket on him falling slightly. He glanced, with his slightly blurry eyes, at the wall clock.

It was 9 am.

He had somehow fallen asleep on the couch after crying his heart out. His eyes felt swollen.

He was sure he wouldn’t be able to sleep all night but he did. But he didn’t remember covering himself with a blanket.

Michael had wished that all that was a dream and once he closed and opened his eyes, he would find Noah next to him in bed, as usual, but when he woke up now, he found the cake that he refused to eat with the candles he had blown out when making his wish.

Seeing it was all reality, he placed his hand on his face, digging his fingers in and biting his lip.

Just why did he have to go through this? He finally thought he was happy.

’Why is happiness so far from me?’

It was only for a moment in the course of his life that he felt the bliss of being truly loved, truly cared for... He felt happy.

But even that happiness wasn’t meant to last.

After sending Noah away because he ’felt’ that was what he wanted at that time, he missed Noah’s touch and his gaze almost immediately.

He couldn’t even wish for anything because his wishes never came true.

The last time he made a wish was when he wished that Noah would not regain his memories, at least until Christmas but that wish was a bust.

Even when he wished to die, that wish couldn’t come true either.

None of the wishes he made from the time he could remember till this day, had ever come true.

So, who was to say that the wish he made when blowing out the candles would come true?

"I’m tired." Michael said as he stood up, his eyes falling in drowsiness but he managed to stand up.

He picked up the cake and went to put it in the fridge.

He wanted to drown himself and his sorrows with alcohol but Noah told him not to drink.

Even if he wanted to go against Noah’s words and drink, there was no alcohol in the house. He had finished the last wine they had when he drank himself into a stupor.

But he needed to drink. He needed something to drink. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

His eyes fell on the cans of milk in the fridge, and he tilted his head, thinking if he could substitute alcohol with milk.

Well, why bother thinking too much?

He took out three cans and sat on the floor of the living room, opened one can, and downed it in an instant, hitting the can’s butt forcefully on the floor as he cleaned his lips.

This was no good. But what could he do?

He opened the next can and downed it the same way, gulping down heavily till it was empty and then he glanced at the door while gulping down.

He wished at this moment, the door would open. He had his hopes since Noah said he would return but he finished the can and tossed it in annoyance.

It hit the door, remnants of the milk splattering everywhere. But even when he did that, no one knocked and no one opened the door.

"Liar!" He yelled and shoved his fingers through his hair. "You’re such a liar. Why... Why did you deceive me?"

He curled himself, hugging his knees and crying. He was trying to stay sane but his emotions were in a whirlwind.

He was sure he was okay a moment ago, and even when he thought about Noah, he did not get agitated, but all of a sudden, he got angry and felt Noah had done something so bad to him by lying.

He was having those mood swings again.

"If you said you were coming back, why aren’t you back yet?"

Even when he was the one that chased him out...

"Come back already so I can rant to your face. The..." He squeezed his knees tightly. "The house feels so big and empty now that it’s just me. I... I want to see you again. So, just come back. I’ll listen this time, Noah. I’ll listen."

But it didn’t mean he would take him back. He just wanted Noah to be near at that point when his heart was in peril. He wanted to hear Noah’s voice and hear him making all the excuses in the world.

Even if they were all baseless and stupid excuses, Michael would not care because all that mattered in the end was that Noah loved him.

His eyes fell on the bracelet on his wrist. It was a silver steel-plated bracelet. Why did he get him this for his birthday? Just why?

It made him remember the ring he bought and then he began to scurry around, frantically looking for the ring box.

He found it in his jacket and then sighed in relief. He was relieved that he did not lose it.

But he asked himself the same question.

"Why did I get him a ring again?"

It was because the ring made out of black silver somehow reminded him of Noah. Then, was that what Noah thought of when he got him this bracelet?

He did not know. He just... Wanted to see Noah. He never got to give him the ring.

So, he thought.

But when he opened the box, the ring was gone and only a tiny note was left there.

"I’ll take this. Thank you."

It had to be Noah. Noah had to be the one who took the ring. But when did he have the chance to do that?

Did he return when he was asleep?

Had he watched him while he slept, kissed his forehead, and covered him with a blanket?

So, he was the one who put the blanket over him.

This brought about a calm silence in Michael’s heart as if he had just entered a meadow filled with his favorite flowers. Did he always have a favorite flower? No. But well, he did now.

"You fool, I didn’t say it belonged to you." Michael muttered, clutching the box hard. "At least..." Tears rolled down his eyes again as he clutched the box to his face. "...let me be the one to give it to you."

Michael’s stomach grumbled but it wasn’t a normal grumble as he suddenly felt the urge to use the toilet but at the same time throw up.

He didn’t know what was wrong with him.

He had been throwing up more than usual lately and his appetite had dwindled too.

The thought of certain foods made him feel nauseous as well.

"I shouldn’t have drank so much milk." He thought, blaming the milk this time.

Since his body constitution had changed quite a lot, Michael felt this might be some side effects. He had no idea how females lived and their natural body disorders so he ’felt’ this was all part of it.

His mind never went to the fact that he might be going through these changes because of unexpected news.

But as it was unexpected news, of course, no one would expect it.

"What did you just say?" Noah asked Sebastian, who had just given him a report; his eyes widened in disbelief and shock.

"It’s exactly as you heard, Sir." Sebastian said, standing erect in front of his desk with his hands behind his back. "The probability of your female being pregnant is a 70/30."

"So, you’re saying Michael might be..." He gulped, hard to believe it. "...Pregnant?"
