"Well," I darted my eyes away. I wasn’t going to tell him that his wolf had probably been the one taking control of him at night and taking advance of him.

Now that I think of it, it all makes sense. Because of his impending rut, his wolf has been active at night when he goes to sleep and that’s why he had no idea what he had done no matter how I try to spell it out for him.

’Still, it doesn’t explain why it stopped visiting since we got back from the hospital,’ I thought and simply sighed, shaking the thought away. "Whatever," I said and stood up. "I won’t stand for this. You don’t even know what date your rut is coming. If you keep at this, at this rate, you’ll definitely lose those fine muscles on your arm." I said, looking away as my face flushed lightly. "So, get off your high horses and let’s go."

"Where are we going?"

"Where else? I’m going to take you out to eat. It’s the least I can do since you’ve been taking care of me and the house for the last few weeks," I cleared my throat, my pride not allowing me to look him in the eye.

Since I was doing this, there was no way he would refuse me, right?

I was going out of my way just for him so he should be grateful.

’Lets take a look at how grateful he is.’ I turned to peak at his expression but he simply stared at me with a blank expression on his face.

What? Was this not enough to impress him?

"I’m not going." He pronounced and my mouth fell in shock.

This silly son of a... Did he realize I had put my pride on the floor just for him? How can he be so insensitive?

"What do you mean you’re not going? I said we’re going so we’re going."

"I can’t," he said as he sighed.

"Explain in details because you lost me in the part where you said you’re not going." I folded my arms and sat back on the chair, crossing my legs to hear what else he had to say.

Noah looked at me and once again sighed, squinting his eyes as he brushed his eyebrows with his fingers.

He had better spit out a very convincing reason because I was no longer going to get tossed around on his own whims.

"There’s another reason why I refused to eat," he said as took out my phone which had been in his possession.

It seemed like my phone was now his.

He swiped up the screen and then tapped a few things.

For someone with amnesia, he sure knows how to operate a phone well. I thought, but it’s not like he had complete amnesia where he couldn’t even remember the simplest of things.

He was able to remember his name so I guess this much was fine.

Then, Noah turned the screen to me, showing me my account balance which had no more than ten thousand dollars.

"And why are you showing me this?" I asked.

"I had no idea how long you would be stubborn for, and if you did come around and decided you were going to work and earn money, how long it would take for you to get your first pay. I had to consider all that if I was going to keep you alive." He said, placing the phone on the table. In other words, "I was trying to save up on your money as much as I could so you could have more food to live off on until you finally decide to keep living and try your hands with other work."

"Ah," I exclaimed, feeling both shocked and impressed.

So, he wasn’t just thinking of his rut by my well being as well. This was why it was hard to understand people who put up a cold and indifferent expression all the time.

He was that worried for me but he wouldn’t admit it and kept covering it.

This sly and cheeky bastard.

"Alright, alright. I get what you’re saying," I said with a proud smirk on my lips.

Now that I had figured him out, I felt so much better. It was really worth it slapping him hard across the face. But even that didn’t leave much of a bruise on his tanned skin.

"That is why I will continue my fasting,"

"Nah-ah. Not on my watch." I said and got up, heading towards him and grabbed his arm. "You’re clever and all but you failed to realize that I might have money stanched in another account."

"What account? I looked through all your bank apps and didn’t find anything." He said and I flinched.

"What? You looked through my phone?" I asked but he simply darted his eyes away, knowing he had let his tongue slip and disclose what he had done.

I sighed. This guy was so infuriating.

"Anyway, who keeps their savings in a place they can easily access it, right?" I asked and picked up my phone. "I might’ve been quite unlucky and unfortunate but I was smart enough to save up from my salary as well as stashed away the allowance my parents sent me as severance fee when they found out I was into men and disowned me."

I paused. Ah shit, saying that out loud made me feel horrible for some reason.

When my parents disowned me, I thought, that’s not the worst that’s happened in my life so why cry over it?

I wasn’t sad or upset by their disappointment because the feeling of my wife divorcing me was far greater than that and it drowned me, pushing me to live a life filled with debauchery for a while. Meeting several guys and hoping to replace the feeling of having sex with a woman with that of men.

I was a grown man and I was bound to live away from my parents in due time so maybe that was why I didn’t feel all that bad when they disowned me.

Rather, I was relieved. It was relieved that I had gotten away from my elder brother. Now that we had no more ties, he would never have a reason to harass me anymore.

At least, that’s what I thought.

I looked at Noah who, despite hearing what I said, had a completely neutral expression on his face.

He didn’t look like he cared about what I said and I was thankful. Maybe what I needed was someone who wouldn’t go on asking unnecessary questions that opened up my wounds. But I wished he was a little bit curious and then I’d have an excuse to go on and on about it all without getting a single question in return.

"Anyway," I installed the app I had kept my money and as soon as it opened, I showed it to Noah with my nose proudly in the air. "Take a look at this. I’m way richer than you think.

Noah looked at the eight digits on the screen and sighed.

"Alright, I understand." He said. "It looks like I worried for nothing." I tittered. He sure did but I’m glad, since I get to know his thoughts through this.
