Wait! How Did The Stray Dog I Picked Up Turn Into A Man?!

Crying on an empty stomach really took a toll on me. It was afternoon, and I still hadn’t eaten anything, so of course it would take a toll on me.

Noah watched me as I munched on the bread I had bought, refusing to say a word.

He was patient, but I could tell he was beyond curious about the way those eyes of his looked at me.

’I don’t know where to start, and that’s why I’m staying silent for now.’ I thought.

I could never read Noah’s thoughts. He kept this still expression on his face that made it impossible to guess what he was thinking.

After I finished the bread, I took the glass of milk from the table and began to drink. That was when Noah decided to start talking.

"After taking out the trash, I went to get some things from the convenience store close by." He said.

He must’ve figured out that to ask me a question, he’d at least have to answer the one I might have for him.

"I know I didn’t let you know first, but I was sure I’d be back soon, so I didn’t bother. Still..." He leaned forward, dropping his hands on his knees as he asked. "Why did you freak out?"

I gulped, dropping my gaze as I drank the milk slowly.

How to answer that question?

It wasn’t like he was asking anything big or for a fancy explanation. He just... I glanced at him and then glanced away... Wanted to know why I was like that.

"I thought you left," I answered in a mutter that was as low as a whisper, but he heard it loud and clear.

How did I know? Because there was this shocked look in his eyes.

"I came back and couldn’t find you, so I searched everywhere, but you were nowhere. You didn’t even go with your phone. It was as if you had suddenly disappeared from my life and it... scared me."

I spoke the honest truth, but even then, I was worried about how he would react.

Would he find me weird? Would he remind me that we were only together for the moment, and he would leave me soon?

Or... Would he sigh and simply assure me? He could say he wouldn’t leave without letting me know, or that he wouldn’t suddenly disappear into thin air.

Whatever his response was, I waited to hear it with bated breath.

I don’t know what Noah thinks of me, besides his responsibility over me as the one who marked me, but I wish he at least saw me as a partner and not just a passing stranger in his life.

And then suddenly, Noah hugged me.

I was taken aback.

When did he get to where I was? He was definitely sitting across from me.

He hugged me, pressing my head on his belly, and said,

"Sorry," This man has been apologizing so much these days for every single thing he thinks he did wrong. "I should’ve at least carried my phone with me." He said. "I simply thought it would be fine, but I guess not."

He knew I was growing attached, but I felt he simply told himself that it was thanks to the mark, and he would remove the mark once he was leaving.

"Do you feel at ease now?" He asked, but I shook my head, clutching his shirt. "Then, what must I do?"

My eyes suddenly fell on his pants. My face was just a few inches away from his ’weapon of destruction’ and I thought to test it out.

"I’ll feel better if you let me suck you off," I said and his expression contorted. He definitely didn’t expect me to say that. "I’m not an expert, but I feel like doing it for you. Will you let--?"

"No," he declined right away. "Don’t do unnecessary things, Michael." He said, and I looked away.

If I sucked him off and he got so turned on that my mouth wasn’t enough then I’d have to give up my ass.

Not that I’m complaining. I’d gladly let him do whatever he wanted with me all day.

"Do you feel better now?" He asked, expecting an honest answer this time, and I nodded.

"Yeah, I’m good." I said, releasing him. "You’re right in front of me, and you’ve assured me that you won’t leave me without letting me know first, so I have nothing to worry about."

He nodded and sat down next to me.

"By the way, you said you went to the convenience store, but you didn’t bring anything back," I said, but he darted his eyes away and said,

"I forgot I didn’t walk out with cash," he said. "I went there straight from throwing out the trash, which simply slipped my mind."

Well, that sounded plausible.

"So, will you skip breakfast?" I asked, and he glazed his eyes at me.

"It’s already afternoon. We’ve long skipped breakfast," he said, and I turned away.

"Oh."

I had a little bread, so I wasn’t that hungry, but I was sure I could whip up something for us to eat.

Over the months, I was able to teach Noah the basics of cooking, like how to boil rice with the rice cooker and how to fry eggs without causing the kitchen to explode.

He made less and less mess the more attempts he made, and I couldn’t be prouder.

All that was left was how I was going to teach him the secret pasta recipe I found on the Internet.

Okay, so it’s not a secret since I found it on the Internet, but it was great. I don’t know if I’m the one who makes them that great, but they were as delicious as the pasta I had in the restaurant the previous day.

"Hm, I’m thinking churros though." I subconsciously said that out loud, and Noah turned to me.

"You want to eat churros?" He asked, and I realized I had said that out loud.

"Forget I said that." I waved it off.

To get churros, one would need to take a taxi on a one-hour drive to where they’re deliciously made.

I don’t have the strength for that hassle, and I would rather not take it either.

It was just a passing craving, nothing much.

But Noah did not seem to think of it as simply a passing craving.

And the next morning, I found Noah walking in with a bag of freshly made churros.

"I got churros." He said.
