Wait! How Did The Stray Dog I Picked Up Turn Into A Man?!

The rest of the day was filled with Michael thinking of how he wanted to finish things up quickly and go back to the hotel so he could go home with Noah.

It was almost like a newlywed who wished to hurry up and spend time with their partner before the day was over, so he was doing his best at work.

"And that concludes it." Pedro said as they made their way outside the bank. "Congratulations, Michael Rodolfo, you are now a billionaire."

Since Michael donated half of the 7 billion to charity, he now had 3.5 billion in his possession, so he was likely the tenth richest young individual in the country.

"Hm, with that much money, I’m only tenth? Hm, I don’t really care, but who’s first? I’d like to know just how rich they are." Michael asked, and Pedro looked at him like he was insane.

"You’re not even that young, so how come you don’t follow the news these days?" Pedro asked, but Michael couldn’t be bothered.

"Precisely because I don’t care."

"Then why are you asking now?" Pedro asked, and Michael shrugged his shoulders.

"Just because."

He was waiting for his cab so he would bide his time. Instead of staying silent and spending his time thinking of what Noah might be doing, which might inevitably cause him to unintentionally walk into the road and get run over, he decided to talk.

"Sigh," Pedro sighed.

They weren’t even that close to be sharing a casual conversation. After this was done, the next time Michael might want to call him would be if he had been suddenly arrested, someone was planning to sue him or vice versa, or he wanted to write his will.

’I might be retired by then.’ Pedro thought. He was older than Michael, and he believed Michael might want to write his will when he was old, if he didn’t suddenly die in an accident, that is.

"Oh, by the way, I would like to write my will." Michael suddenly said, and it was like a stone falling on Pedro’s head.

"What?! Excuse me, did you just say you wanted to write your will?" Pedro asked in disbelief that he had heard correctly.

"Ah, yes." Michael said. "Or am I too young to write a will?"

"No, you aren’t too young but..." He couldn’t tell if Michael was simply planning for his own death so he could follow his family that had died, or if he was just insecure about keeping this huge sum of money to himself.

"Oh, don’t misunderstand." Michael said, laughing as he understood the expression on Pedro’s face quite clearly. "I’m not planning to die. And I’m not insecure about the money either. I just..." He tilted his head and once again laughed. "... Felt it would be a shame."

Pedro still couldn’t understand what he was thinking. His father was also quite an unpredictable character.

Their family must have craziness running through their blood.

"You asked for the name of the richest young individual, right?" Pedro asked, and Michael spotted his ride approaching. "It’s from the Lenovo family."

"Lenovo?"

The name sounded familiar. He heard about it in passing in his company once. But since he was so disconnected from the world, he didn’t know what he had heard about that family name.

The cab stopped in front of them, and he said for Pedro.

"Then, I’ll be off." He said and got in.

"You mentioned the family name but not the person’s name," Michael said. "Who are they?"

Pedro opened his mouth to speak, but then the car horn blew hard and loudly, causing Michael to cover his ears in discomfort.

"Do you mind?" Michael asked in annoyance, and the driver quickly apologized.

"Sorry. That car in front was reversing as if it didn’t know a car was behind it, so I had to make my presence known." The driver said, and Michael sighed.

He turned to Pedro, who waved and said,

"Then, I’ll see you in a couple of years." With that, he walked away, and Michael never got to hear the name of the individual who held the standing of the country’s richest young individual.

All he knew was that they belonged to the Lenovo family.

’What’s the criteria for being young again?’ Michael wondered but shrugged it off.

It was best not to think of these things. He was going to head home with Noah. He was so excited.

He got to the hotel and found his stuff all packed up as Noah said he would. As soon as his eyes fell on Noah, he rushed to hug him.

"What’s this about?" Noah asked, holding him up as Michael locked his legs around Noah’s body.

"It’s nothing. I just needed a hug, and your body is just like a huge teddy bear, so it works." He said, sinking into his embrace.

Noah sank into the warmth as well.

He had a question that had been crawling in the back of his head. A question he had answered but still left crawling.

Was it normal to be this attracted to your mate because of the mark?

The answer was no.

The reason was that he knew about Alphas and their females, how their relationship was mostly made for the perfected breeding of Alpha heirs.

One didn’t need to love their mate or even see them more than twice a month. The only ones whose hearts were tied were mostly the females, and they ended up living a lonely life, wanting and longing for the affection of the Alpha that marked them.

They were mostly miserable because the Alphas were hard-hearted, stone-cold, and hard to please. Affection for a mate was out of the question for them.

So, in his case, he did not fall because of the mark. Maybe he had been affected by it a little bit, the soft-heartedness he had grown for Michael fueled his desire for him even more.

He answered this question a dozen times.

And yet, the question still lingered, as if he hadn’t gotten the real answer to it.

"Let’s go home." Noah said. "If you don’t come down, I’ll carry you like this through the lobby for everyone to see."

"I wish you could," Michael said and grinned. "I’m not the one who has killers on my tail, fufu."

"You’re daring me." Noah said, looking at him as he had grown wings to say such things.

"I wish I were."

In any case, his feelings were pure, he knew that for sure. And maybe Alphas of the previous generation held no such thing as love for their partner, or familiar love for their family or Kids, he didn’t care. He was different.

He would do anything... Absolutely anything to protect the little happiness he had gotten now, and the smile he was able to put on Michael’s cheeks.

Even if that meant lying and keeping him in the dark. He would do it.
