"Hm? What should I write in my suicide note?"

Walking out of the bar, I was limping and snorting with staggering footsteps. I was a bit drunk but sane enough to have a sense of direction. My vision was slowly giving out, so I needed to be careful.

"Ah, I have to write that bastard manager’s name in it as well. No one–no one will be spared." Today had to be the worst day of my life and things seemed to keep getting worse. I just lost my job and my payment for the month was seized because of a crime I did not commit. How pathetic was that?

My name is Micheal Rodolfo, and throughout the 31 years of my life, I have been bestowed everything on a silver platter. Being loved and spoiled by my parents, graduating at their expense, and later on marrying the girl of my dreams.

Looking outside the taxi window at those blinking and swaying lights. I had to accept the fact that I still couldn’t stand on my own two feet after all and that misfortune would continue to follow me wherever I went.

Letting out a sigh, passing money to the taxi driver. I looked disheveled, like a total mess. All I needed at that very moment was to meet my boyfriend and drown in his warm embrace.

I exhaled sharply for the millionth time as I stood in front of his wooden door unannounced. I didn’t have the chance to since I was thinking about my shitty life all the way to his house. Opening the door, only to hear moans coming from inside.

Assuming that he was jerking off to porn, there was no need to jump to a conclusion. Though as I walked in, I saw two pairs of underwear on the floor. What caught my eye was a bra on the floor. With a pounding heart while hoping it wasn’t what I was thinking, right?

"Zane?" I called out while striding into the living room, only to find Zane sprawled on the floor with a lady underneath him. He was thrusting non-stop and hadn’t even heard my voice. "You’re cheating on me with a woman?" I yelled and Zane flinched, turning around in shock.

My face contorted in disgust and agony. Just what in the world...?

"Ugh," Zane’s unbothered reaction shocked me. He did not look concerned that I had caught him, rather, it looked like he was relieved. "For the love of Christ, can’t you read the room?" He asked, then groaned in irritation. "Yeah, I’m fucking a cunt, so what?"

Everything turned out to be one after another nightmare for me. And this, in particular, felt so surreal that my mind could not accept it right away. He was right in front of me with a woman while I stood there frozen like a pathetic fool in denial.

"Why is this happening?" I muttered and watched Zane stand on his feet, leaving the woman he was fucking on the floor. He still had a full-blown erection staring at my face, and he wasn’t even trying to hide it. "So, you want to be with a woman?" I asked him and he sneered.

"What? You can’t be serious." Zane chuckled with annoyance and a mocking expression. "Did you think I would be interested in your old ass for life? I’m tired of screwing you, so fuck off and get a life, old man." He yelled at me and the words had never pierced deeper.

That was when realization hit me and my heart shattered. And to think I was saving up to get him the car he wanted for his birthday. I was such a fool. Instead of crying and running out of there as one would normally do, I got annoyed by his nonchalance and pounced on him.

God knows where I got that courage to take such an action because I was far from capable of winning a fight. As soon as I punched him, I earned one for myself which sent me flying across the room.

"Do you think you’re the only one who can use their fist?" He growled angrily. "You’re dead!"

And that’s how I ended up with more bruises on my face. Pathetic, honestly.

"We’re done, so stay the hell away from me, fucking old man." He slammed the door in my face. I might’ve been older than him but he packed quite a punch for someone younger.

I dragged my beat-up ass out of his front yard, making my way to where I could drink myself to a drunken stupor, and on the way, I got brushed over by a delivery bike.

"Just kill me." I laid flat on the floor, not knowing what else to do with my life.

"Sir, are you okay? Sir?" The delivery man frantically tried to get me to stand. I wished the ground would swallow me up so I didn’t have to see another minute of my miserable life. "Sir?"

Like a zombie, I got up to my feet like nothing had happened and continued on my way. The misfortune just kept piling up that it looked like the universe was against me. I even got poured stinking fish water on my way to the bar.

It was the worst. I had to change my clothes in a nearby shop but the smell wouldn’t come off. Even while spending my money on expensive liquor, hoping to drown my sorrows, I could not find comfort or relief. I felt even more miserable so I cried, making the people in the bar quite uncomfortable.

But I kept drinking, after all, I was spending my own money and not theirs, so it was none of their business. If a billboard could topple over and crush me and my misfortune, I would be very grateful. At least then, I’d be put out of my sorrow.

"Ugh," I grunted and touched my face which still hurt from the punches I got from my ex a few hours ago. "It hurts like hell." I was dizzy.
