Feeling content, Meng Yunhan lay down and fell asleep. However, Han Yichen did not have it as easy. He tossed and turned as he lay on the bed, unable to fall asleep; there were bursts of guilt in his heart, and he felt really uneasy.

When he thought about what Meng Yunhan had said to him, he could not help but feel sorry for Han Ruochen. He thought that no matter what explanation he gave to Han Ruochen, it would be unjustified toward Han Ruochen. However, if he did not talk with her, what if Han Ruochen ended up getting together with someone she could not afford to marry? After all, they had no money in their house. Contrary to Han Yichen, who did not sleep a wink throughout the entire night, Meng Yunhan slept particularly well the entire night. When she woke up the next day, her face was rosy and flushed.

She did not care about Han Yichen, who was obviously stressed and went to cook something for herself. She was really famished! Fortunately, there were some eggs, and she had learnt how to make egg drop soup after seeing how Han Ruochen did it. Her cooking was not as exceptionally good as Han Ruochen’s, but it was not that bad either.

When Han Ziyan woke up, she did not waste another second and went to look for her mother. After all, she knew that her mother was skilled in making people listen to her as long as she put her mind to it.

"Mom?" 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

She tentatively called Meng Yunhan.

Meng Yunhan raised her head and smiled at Han Ziyan to hint that the matter had been resolved; only then did Han Ziyan’s face brighten. "Mom, I am going to work. Mom, can you give me some money? I need to build some relationships with my colleagues and I promised them that I will treat them to a meal today."

"Alright, be careful and don’t work too hard." Meng Yunhan did not feel bothered by Han Ziyan’s demands at all. She even took out ten yuan and handed it to her with a smile on her face.

"Mom, you are so good to me!" Han Ziyan kissed her mother on the cheek. Having got what she wanted, Han Ziyan was really happy and did not hold back in flattering her mother.

"Oh dear, you are already so old, and you are still so mushy... Alright, hurry up, or you will be late for work." Meng Yunhan was so happy when she received a kiss from her precious daughter that she was smiling from one ear to another.

"Then mom, I will be leaving first." Han Ziyan had ten yuan extra in her hands, so she was not particularly worried about not having breakfast at home.

Han Ruochen, who had just woken up, also saw the mushy scene in front of her and almost gagged. She had to admit that her brain must be filled with some sort of mush because why else was she fooled by these two mother and daughter?

Her mother was not really brilliant-minded. Han Ziyan had not even thought of bringing a gift for their mother yet, and her mother had already handed more than ten yuan to Han Ziyan. If she were not wrong, then Han Ziyan already had twenty yuan in her hands.

As for how much Han Ziyan would save? That was only between her and the heavens. After all, Han Ruochen knew her sister too well. She would never do something as foolish as wronging herself. Forget about skipping on meat, Han Ziyan was not even willing to wrong herself in terms of clothes when she clearly had more clothes than her!

"Han Ruochen, your dad wants to talk to you about something. I am telling you, you should listen to your dad; after all, for your sake, he is not even willing to dote on Ziyan." Meng Yunhan saw Han Ruochen walking over and did not show any embarrassment on her face despite showering Han Ziyan with affection and money. In fact, she looked at Han Ruochen as if she were the one causing trouble in their family.

Han Ruochen yawned and asked, "What does Han Ziyan want from me this time around?"

Meng Yunhan spluttered. This girl...did she have some kind of power? How come she knew that the matter was related to Han Ziyan? Hiding her guilt in her eyes, she reprimanded Han Ruochen, "What about your sister? It’s your dad who wants to talk to you. Why are you dragging your sister into this matter?"

"You and I both know whether I am dragging her or not," sneered Han Ruochen as she walked past her mother. In her past life, every time her father called her, it had something to do with her mother’s instigation, and why would her mother instigate her father? It was to support Han Ziyan. Surely, there was something that Han Ziyan wanted this time around as well and thus used her mother like a pawn, like every other time.

When Han Ruochen walked into the room where her father was, she was shocked to see that her father had two panda eyes. "Dad, did you not sleep yesterday?" What kind of nonsense did her mother spout in front of her father that he couldn’t sleep a wink last night?

"Chenchen, there is...there is something that I wanted to discuss with you." Han Yichen took a deep breath. He opened his mouth a few times, but even after mustering his courage countless times, he could not bring himself to say anything to her.
