Aunt Jiang’s eyes had swelled so much that they now resembled two red walnuts. She had been crying ever since she received the news that her son was missing, but there was nothing she could do. There was no lead, and it was as if Jiang Chen had disappeared into thin air. No matter where she looked or whom she asked, they all just told her the same thing: that they had not seen Jiang Chen. How could that be possible? How come no one saw her son? Such a big boy disappeared into thin air just like that?

"Aunt." Zhai Muchen was also worried about Jiang Chen. After all, he was his little cousin.

Zhai Muchen raised his head and turned to look at the soldier who came looking for him and asked in a gravely voice, "What is the matter?"

"There is a call for you. Your father asked you to receive it." The soldier saluted and reported the task that the chief had given him.

When Zhai Muchen heard that there was a call for him, he subconsciously wanted to refuse it, but he still swallowed his words and asked, "Who is calling?"

"Miss Han Ruochen—"

The soldier did not even get to finish what he was saying, and Zhai Muchen hurried out of the guest room. He climbed down the stairs and walked around the sofas before picking up the receiver of the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Brother Muchen?" When Han Ruochen heard Zhai Muchen’s voice, she heaved a sigh of relief. She did not have much time. Since the human traffickers had set their eyes on her, she could only use the little time she had when the human traffickers were not paying attention to her and tell Zhai Muchen everything.

When Zhai Muchen heard what was going on, he was ready to rush to the train station at once. However, his rationality still helped him. He said to Han Ruochen, "Keep your eyes open. I will contact the officers in charge of the next station." It would take him a good two hours before he could arrive at the station, even if he were to drive the fastest vehicle. From Han Ruochen’s description, the appearance of the child did resemble Jiang Chen. but there was no way to confirm it. Only upon arriving at the station could he be sure that the child was really Jiang Chen.

Han Ruochen was about to tell the appearances of the traffickers to Zhai Muchen, when she saw the man accompanying the old woman step down. She knew that her disappearance had caused the man to be alerted so she she placed the receiver down and hurried out of the phone booth.

"Hello? Hello?" Zhai Muchen also sensed that there was something wrong, but before he could ask Han Ruochen what was going on, the woman had already disappeared. He frowned but did not call back because he had a feeling that things were not as simple, and maybe Han Ruochen was in danger, which was why she ended the call in a hurry.

He was truly worried about her, but fretting would bring him nowhere. So he ran out of the house without looking at his father, whose expression was changing every second.

"What is going on? Who is this Han Ruochen? And why is your brother rushing to her aid so quickly?" asked Father Zhai as he turned to look at Zhai Mumu, who was sitting on the couch and eating dried jerky.

As soon as her father turned to glance at her, Zhai Mumu choked on the bite of jerky that she had taken. She wondered what was going on. The one who called was Han Ruochen, and the one who ran away was her brother. So why was her father asking her about the situation? Was it because she was the weakest link in the family?

Zhai Mumu swallowed the jerky in her mouth and replied, "Dad, have you already forgotten? Han Ruochen is the one who rescued your unruly son. If not for her, the grass on your youngest son’s grave would be six feet tall." Licking the rest of the crumbs off her lips, she continued, "As for why elder brother left in a hurry. I think Han Ruochen has encountered a bunch of traffickers, and he doubts that maybe these traffickers are the ones who kidnapped Jiang Chen."

Father Zhai frowned when he heard her response. But he held himself from making a judgment. After all, he did not want to offend the woman who had saved the life of his son. Instead, he continued asking, "But what if that boy is not Jiang Chen? I mean, wouldn’t your brother be wasting his time?"

"Dad," Zhai Mumu was helpless when she heard the questions of her father. "It’s not that good to be so pessimistic and brother is not irresponsible. He has already dispatched teams to track every train down. We can only hope that Jiang Chen will be found as soon as possible. So what is wrong with brother trying to look through every channel? Don’t think too much dad."

Father Zhai pursed his lips and sighed. "I just hope that your brother wouldn’t be fooled by someone."
