"Humph, what do you mean by ’she is a sensible girl’? She is friends with Ah Heng and I seriously doubt her." Madam Yun eyed Han Ruochen with a hint of distaste in her eyes. She did not trust Han Ruochen. What if this woman did something to malign the character of her good son? She turned to look at her father and argued, "I mean, Taotao is so sensible. You have seen him grow in front of you dad, how can Ah Heng say that he was the one who harmed him? I believe someone is feeding him all kinds of lies."

As she finished speaking she did not forget to shoot a reproving look at Han Ruochen.

"..." Han Ruochen was speechless. No wonder Zhai Heng wanted her to come with him. He wanted someone to stay by his side. There was no one who believed him. Even his grandfather was seriously doubtful of his words, which made the situation really problematic. She raised her hand and pinched the space between her brows. Honestly, why was she being dragged into this mess? She had nothing to do with this matter.

"Aunt, there is no need to point fingers willy nilly," said Zhai Heng. even though his temper had grown better these days, he was still a wild wolf cub. When he saw his aunt accusing Han Ruochen, he could not help but flare up. He pulled Han Ruochen with him and sat down on the couch before saying, "I need to know an answer to my questions. Everyone knew how important this meeting was for me; this was the first time my grandfather trusted me with a task and everyone knew that I had to ace it. But somehow, I ended up sleeping like a log till the afternoon and yet no one came to wake me up!"

"What was more, your son actually told everyone that I had already left the house an hour ago! Why was it him? Why no one else? Don’t say that I am pointing fingers at him for no reason. I have my reasons."

Zhai Heng did not want to let the matter go. His aunt could defend her son as much as she wanted but he wouldn’t drop the matter so easily. It was one thing that he stayed asleep for so long but it was another thing that Yun Tao was the only one who saw him leave the house when he hadn’t!

"Did I not just say that Taotao just mistook someone else for you? Taotao had already apologised to you, what more do you want from him? Do you want to harp over this small thing for so long and ruin his reputation? Taotao is your cousin. Why are you bullying him? Don’t think that just because he is good tempered you can bully him as you want!"

Madam Yun was not happy. She had raised the children of her sister-in-law like they were her own but it seemed like she had raised ingrates. When she called Zhai Muchen he told her that she should deal with this matter on her own and that Zhai Heng was not someone who wouldn’t listen to reason as for Zhai Mumu, that girl did not even pick up her phone.

Most likely Zhai Muchen told her what was going on and she avoided her.

Even though she did not expect them to be filial to her, they should not treat her son like he was their common enemy.

"Brother, it was my fault. I thought the person whom I saw at the gates was you and I never would have imagined that it was someone else." Yun Tao looked at Zhai Heng with a hint of self-reproach. He looked pitiful with his fair complexion, a pair of bright dark eyes, and a clear and polite voice. Madam Yun felt sorry for her son and immediately patted him on the back of his hand. She was truly upset that Zhai Heng was bullying her son in such a manner.

"This is just a misunderstanding; there is no need to drag this matter any further." Madam Yun announced as if the matter were a done deal. "But Taotao, you owe your brother an apology. If you had been careful, then your brother wouldn’t have suffered in such a manner. It’s a good thing that his friend was there to help him out or else this meeting would have been ruined."

"Yes, we have to thank Han Ruochen for this." Old Master Han turned to look at Han Ruochen with grateful eyes. This was a test that he had arranged for Zhai Heng. If his grandson could perform well, then he would slowly integrate him into the Zhai family business.

"Alright, enough with the gratitude. If I want to show my gratitude to Xiao Ruochen, then I will do it myself. First we need to sort these things out. Fine, I admit that Yun Tao made a mistake by mistaking me for someone else but how come I was asleep for so long? Don’t tell me that I was tired. I even arranged two to three alarm clocks to wake me up but even then I did not wake up. Zhai Heng wanted to break Yun Tao’s neck at the thought of what this brat had done.

Due to Han Ruochen’s reminder, he did not dare to even take so much as a sip of water that Yun Tao handed him. But who would have thought that he would still fall for the tricks of this man?

Zhai Heng was sure that Yun Tao did something to him or else he would have never slept for so long. Everyone in the room turned silent after listening to Zhai Heng’s question.
