Han Ziyan also didn’t expect Han Ruochen to be so ruthless. She didn’t even bother mincing her words, which caused everyone to look at her differently. The officers were staring at her as if she had done something really sinful. Her heart was wrought with worry; however, as she reached the entrance of the police station, she suddenly paused and turned to look at Han Ruochen, who stood behind her. With her eyes filled with hatred, she glared at Han Ruochen and said to her, "Are you happy now? Are you feeling satisfied? Is this what you wanted to see?"

"Shut up!" Han Yichen couldn’t believe that even after everything that Han Ziyan and Yang Jianming did, Meng Yunhan was scolding Han Ruochen. His face turned the colour of liver as he said to her, "Is this something that you should be saying to your daughter? Who was the one who had an affair with the fiancé of her sister, and who was the one who schemed to ruin Ruochen’s reputation? She is the victim, and yet you are scolding her?"

Han Yichen wanted to split open the head of the woman in front of him and see what kind of mush was inside her head! How could she dote on her niece and not care about her daughter?

Beside him, Han Ruochen didn’t say a word. She knew that in this era, she couldn’t be blatantly unfilial to Meng Yunhan. The woman was still her mother in name and unless she could prove that Meng Yunhan had an affair with another man, she couldn’t fight with her in front of others.

Anyway, she already had a handle on Meng Yunhan, which she was going to expose in a few days.

Meng Yunhan glared at Han Yichen before turning to look at Han Ruochen and glaring at her, too. She then turned on her feet and rushed out of the police station; she was going to deal with this rebellious, wretched girl later on. First, she was going to make sure that her precious daughter was alright or not.

If Han Ziyan told Master Yun that she was not being treated well, then he would certainly blame her for not taking care of their daughter!

"Dad, did I do something wrong?" Han Ruochen waited until Meng Yunhan was gone and then looked up from the floor. She blinked her eyes and stared at her father, who only felt even more guilty and angry at his wife.

"No, of course you didn’t. How could you be the one in the wrong?" he bristled. The one in the wrong was his wife. She clearly heard the ins and outs of the matter, and yet she still turned around and scolded Han Ruochen. This didn’t just prove that his wife had a bad judgement of character, but she was biased toward Han Ziyan.

The more he thought about it, the more Han Yichen felt his eyes and mind become. He assessed his daughter very carefully and realised that Han Ruochen was wearing a dress that was three seasons old, and then he recalled the dress that Han Ziyan was wearing. Now he, a straight-laced man, didn’t know much about fashion, but he did know that the dress that Han Ziyan was wearing was brand new.

His face turned even darker, and he said to Han Ruochen, "Let’s go home. Dad will take you back."

Han Ruochen nodded meekly. However, when she turned around, she glanced at Yang Jianming. Seeing the man sitting inside the prison cell, her eyes flashed with murderous intent.

Yang Jianming, oh, Yang Jianming. You are upset with just this much? This is just the beginning. I have a lot more torment stored for you.

This man had stepped on her pride and broken it bit by bit. Unless she returned the favour, she wouldn’t be called Han Ruochen!

Yang Jianming shivered. He raised his head on instinct, and when he saw the hatred surging in Han Ruochen’s heart, he felt his heart turn cold. He only had three words in his head—It was over. With Han Ruochen giving up on him, things were bound to become difficult for him.

Even if he somehow managed to keep his job, he was bound to become unpopular in the school, and the promotion that he was waiting for, he was going to lose it as well. Earlier, Yang Jianming was certain that with his performance, the principal of the school was bound to send him to the exam for the county teacher. But now with such an incident taking place, he was certain that this slot was going to be given to someone else! He just knew it.
