Han Ziyan’s mood had hit rock bottom, and she did not want to bother with her mother. Her mother was such a waste; she could not even hold onto the heart of a man. She could only purse her lips and eat the egg pancakes. She pursed her lips and asked in some trepidation, "Mom, are you sure that Dad will plead for mercy from you? I only have two days. If I don’t pay the compensation back, then I am afraid that the head chef will kick me out."

"Although I may not work here for long, I don’t want to be kicked out; that would be too embarrassing, Mom. You need to get me the money somehow!" If she were kicked out of the canteen, then she would have no face to look at anyone.

"You don’t have to be anxious." Meng Yunhan was also worried about this matter. She wanted to throw a long tantrum, but at the same time, she was worried about the lack of time. "I will settle this matter for you. I will ensure that you will get enough money to continue working at the canteen."

At that moment, she was so angry that she wished she could eat Han Ruochen alive. If not for this woman, Han Yichen would have never caused trouble. It was all because of this wretched girl that she was in so much trouble.

Han Ruochen simply raised her brows. She had no idea why her mother was suddenly going crazy, but she knew that there had to be some sort of trouble brewing in her mother’s mind. She calmly said, "Mom, what kind of trouble are you in at the moment? You have a job, and you have food on your table. Many families in the village cannot even eat eggs for months. If you are in trouble, then I am afraid that those families who eat black buns and coarse rice might be living in hell, right?"

"You—" Meng Yunhan was angry but she did not dare tell the truth to Han Ruochen. After all, if she told the truth, then Han Ruochen would definitely run to her father and tattle everything. She could only purse her lips and glare at the woman angrily.

If she knew that this woman would rebel against her in such a manner, then she would have definitely drowned her in the water vat as soon as this girl was born. "You...you are such a despicable person!" Meng Yunhan couldn’t say anything; she could only scold her because she could not swallow her breath down.

Han Ruochen sneered. She did not waste her time with Meng Yunhan. She knew very well that this matter must be related to Han Ziyan. She was the only one who could make their mother act like a shrew. She brought Han Beijiang and Han Jianyou to the kitchen and started preparing dinner. Their father was going to be late tonight, and he asked them to send dinner to the pig farm. Thus, Han Ruochen had no intention of dealing with Meng Yunhan. She finished cooking dinner and asked Han Jianyou to send the lunchbox to her father, as for Meng Yunhan, she did not care. Her mother had more than one daughter, so since she liked this daughter of hers so much, she might as well ask her.

When Meng Yunhan saw that Han Ruochen had only prepared their portions, she was so angry that she started to tremble. However, she did not want to quarrel with Han Ruochen at the moment. She was worried that this girl would run straight to her father and then complain to him. Right now, she wanted Han Yichen to be calm, or else he would not listen to her.

Han Ruochen was not surprised when she saw that Meng Yunhan had swallowed her anger. She knew her mother all too well. Since she wanted something, she would not cause any trouble in the house. Han Ruochen did not care about her mess. As long as she did not bother her, she could allow her mother to act like a hooligan. Anyway, this was her father’s mess to clear up. Who asked him to marry a person like Meng Yunhan? He could have easily chosen a much better person to marry, but he picked someone like Meng Yunhan.

She turned a blind eye to everything that was happening around her and returned to her room.

Han Ruochen could turn a blind eye to the entire situation, but Han Yichen could not.

When he returned home, he realised that Meng Yunhan seemed to be waiting for him. He knitted his brows and moved away to his bedroom, but it was as if Meng Yunhan were attracted to him because of some kind of magnet. Wherever he went, she followed right after him. And that was not all; she even stuck to him.
