Master Feng was quite pleased with Han Ruochen’s sensibility. At least his brother had a good sense of judgement when it came to one’s character. When his brother told him that he was willing to let Han Ruochen continue exchanging seafood with him, he was a bit worried. After all, they did not even know much about Han Ruochen. What if the woman had some sneaky plan and intentions for getting close to his young master?

But it seemed like he was thinking too much.

He smiled and nodded at her before saying, "Master has called you to the study room. It’s the first room upstairs."

When Han Ruochen heard that the master of the house wanted to meet with her, she thought it was Master Zhai. Though she was nervous and bewildered over why the old master of the Zhai family wanted to meet with her, she still nodded and went inside the house. Zhai Heng made a move to follow her, but he was stopped by Uncle Feng, who was still smiling at him.

"Uncle Feng?" Zhai Heng was confused. He could not understand why Uncle Feng was stopping him from going after Han Ruochen.

Uncle Feng said to him in a polite tone, "Master Heng, you have been running around for quite some time, have you not? You told me that as long as I allow you to go out this one time, you will rest without causing any trouble for me. Now, it is time for you to fulfil your promise, young master Heng. Please go back to your room and take some rest."

"But—"

Zhai Heng wanted to follow Han Ruochen; how could he be willing to let her go alone, but Master Feng narrowed his eyes at him and said sternly, "You need to go and take your medicines, young master. Do not make me call the master and mistress."

Zhai Heng: "..."

"Uncle Feng, why are you like this? Why do you drag my parents every single time?" Zhai Heng did not want to agree, but he was thoroughly defeated after Uncle Feng dragged his parents.

Uncle Feng kept his professional smile on his lips and replied promptly, "It’s not that I want to drag your parents every time; it’s you who refuses to listen without your parents being brought up. You cannot blame me for the trouble that you cause."

Hearing his response, Zhai Heng simply rolled his eyes.

Meanwhile, Han Ruochen also walked upstairs and knocked on the door. She heard a muffled ’come in’ and pushed open the door, only to see the unexpected person sitting inside.

"Zhai...Zhai Muchen?" She had not seen Zhai Muchen for a long time. Han Ruochen was like a little mouse whenever she came to the Zhai family’s house. She would come through the back door and leave without making a noise. Thus, when she saw Zhai Muchen all of a sudden, she could not help but feel a bit guilty.

"Yes, it’s me." Zhai Muchen put down the book that he was holding. "So you are the one who caught the golden moray?"

Han Ruochen did not understand why the man was asking her this question and nodded. She did not know whether it was because she knew about the success of the man in front of her or something, but every time she met him, Han Ruochen felt a bit stiff. Even now, she was standing straight, with her feet together and her hands clasped behind her back like she was a soldier under Zhai Muchen.

Though he was not the chief of the army yet, the aura that Zhai Muchen had was no joke.

Seeing that the young woman was too tense in his presence, Zhai Muchen felt helpless. Why was it that she was joking and talking with Zhai Heng easily, but when it came to him, she was as stiff as a board? Was he that scary that he was terrorising Uncle Han’s daughter?

"Don’t be so nervous. Come and sit down." Zhai Muchen couldn’t help but think that the woman was looking rather pitiful. Similar to the last time when he met her, the day when she jumped in the river so desperately, as if dying were much better than living.

Of course, only Zhai Muchen thought that he had softened his tone, but in the eyes of Han Ruochen, he sounded even more aloof and indifferent, which made her even more worried. However, she did take a seat on a chair. She peeked at the man sitting behind the rosewood desk and wondered why he had called her to meet him.

"Did you already buy a boat?"

"No."

"Then how did you catch the golden moray? I don’t think they could usually be caught on shore."

"I was lucky."

Soon Han Ruochen realised that the two of them were not supervisor and underling, no. Instead, they were like a criminal and an interrogator. She had clearly done nothing wrong, but for some reason, she felt like she had stolen this golden moray from someone.

"Don’t get me wrong," said Zhai Muchen after he realised that even after trying to put his air down, nothing seemed to be working. Han Ruochen was still scared of him as much as she was earlier. Maybe she was even worried that he was doubting her. Helpless, he could only say in a low voice, "I was just curious and nothing else. I am not suspecting anything, Miss Han."

Of course, if he had dared to suspect something, Han Ruochen would have fought till her death. After all, it was a hill that she was willing to die on.

"There is nothing to suspect, Master Muchen," said Han Ruochen stiffly. She turned quiet, wondering why the man had called for her. However, she was more or less polite with him because she knew that Zhai Muchen was a hero. In the coming days, there would be a new trouble arriving. The remnants of the Tian family, who had once joined hands with the traitors, would once again make a move and try to sell the antiques to the enemy nation.

But Zhai Muchen would intercept before they could do that.
