"Boy, speak. How do you want to die?" The Firebird looked vicious, and combined with its enormous size, it indeed exerted an immense pressure.

Little Ape, who had been sleeping soundly in Lin Yun’s robes, was thoroughly dazed by the fall. It crawled out, took one look at the Firebird, and let out a furious roar.

While roaring, Little Ape pointed and gestured wildly at the Firebird with its claws.

"Little monkey, what did you say? I am a Pure-blooded Demon Beast, yet you dare claim my bloodline is inferior?" Listening to Little Ape’s roars, the Firebird bellowed in a rage.

A mere Tier Two Demon Beast daring to call its bloodline inferior? This was more than enough to infuriate the Firebird.

In response to the enraged Firebird, Little Ape released its own Bloodline Power. Although Little Ape’s Bloodline Power was currently too weak to affect the Firebird, the great beast could still clearly sense a noble bloodline that was far superior to its own.

As a Pure-blooded Demon Beast, the Firebird’s understanding of bloodlines was far more profound than that of an ordinary Demon Beast. It also knew just how terrifying a creature with a superior bloodline could become once it fully matured.

After a moment of stunned silence, the Firebird ignored Little Ape and turned its vicious glare back to Lin Yun. "Human, speak. How do you want to die?"

Unlike the Demon Beasts of the outside world, this Firebird was, in human terms, a complete novice. It had no real-world experience and was utterly naive.

"How about we do something interesting together?" Lin Yun asked with a smile.

The Firebird didn’t seem to process the words at first. Then, seeing the wide grin on Lin Yun’s face, it roared, "Cunning human! I won’t fall for your tricks! Just tell me how you want to die!"

The Firebird did its best to maintain its ferocious facade, but to Lin Yun, its act was as childish as a game of make-believe.

"What’s there to dare? Fine! For one year, I’ll listen to you. We’ll see if I don’t swallow you whole when the year is up!" Without a moment’s hesitation, the Firebird agreed. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

’This Firebird is so gullible.’ With just a few sentences, he had it wrapped around his little finger.

The reason Lin Yun had proposed this bet was simple: he wanted to use the Firebird to help him hunt the other Demon Beasts in Demon Beast Ridge.

Lin Yun could tell that this Firebird was not only naive, but also had a lawless, arrogant, and wild personality.

This personality was probably a product of its environment. It had never survived in the outside world, living its whole life in Demon Beast Ridge. As the only Pure-blooded Demon Beast around, not a single creature in the entire ridge would dare to offend it.

By grasping these key points, Lin Yun had easily managed to lead the Firebird by the nose.

"Alright. Since you’ve agreed, you’ll stick with me from now on," Lin Yun said calmly, forcibly suppressing his inner glee. "And remember, if you can’t fulfill any of my requests, you lose."

Hearing this, the Firebird replied briskly, "Fine. But you’d better remember, if I win, you’re at my mercy one year from now."
