His gaze swept across the handful of Two-Stars Stewards, and a chill rose in their hearts as his eyes passed over them. They didn’t understand it. Why would a handsome young man like him make them feel so cold? Even if Lin Yun’s cultivation was at the Qi Sea Realm Eighth Layer, that shouldn’t have been enough to cause this reaction.

"Lead the way. I’ll go with you to see the Three-Stars Steward," Lin Yun said indifferently.

Not a single one of them dared to defy Lin Yun, so the Two-Stars Stewards led him toward the servant disciple area.

In the entire servant disciple area, there were a total of twenty Two-Stars Stewards. Each Two-Stars Steward had ten One-Star Stewards under them, and all twenty Two-Stars Stewards reported to two Three-Stars Stewards.

As they led Lin Yun toward the Three-Stars Steward’s courtyard, one of the Two-Stars Stewards had a particularly dark look on his face. Fatty Kong had been his subordinate, and had helped him with a lot of dirty work in the past. He was well aware that Fatty Kong and his brother had murdered many new servant disciples.

’Damn it,’ the man thought to himself. ’Those two idiots didn’t even know who they could afford to provoke. Still, since this kid is so brazen, he has to die. Otherwise, how will I ever show my face around here again?’

Lin Yun was at the Qi Sea Realm Eighth Layer, while the Three-Stars Steward was at the Ninth Layer of Qi Sea Realm. Though the Stewards were puzzled as to why someone with Lin Yun’s Eighth Layer cultivation would be among the servant disciples, it didn’t matter now. They didn’t believe for a second that Lin Yun could be a match for the Three-Stars Steward.

The two Three-Stars Stewards lived near the Outer Disciples’ area. Each had a private courtyard, and their living conditions were far better than those of the Two-Stars Stewards.

Normally, these two rarely made an appearance. For ordinary matters, their intervention wasn’t needed; the Two-Stars and One-Star Stewards below them were enough.

But today, Lin Yun had single-handedly killed nine servant disciples and a One-Star Steward. An incident of this magnitude was why the Three-Stars Steward had to get involved. Among the servant disciples, this was considered a cataclysmic event.

Upon entering the main hall of the courtyard, they saw a middle-aged man sitting upright on the master’s seat. Though his status in the Flawless Palace was low, he was a major figure in the servant disciple area. He might not have wielded absolute power, but his word was certainly law.

"Boss Tang." Upon seeing the man, the Two-Stars Stewards all bowed in greeting. Here, all the Stewards called him Boss Tang.

It was a title that sounded more suited to a gang. With a slight nod, Boss Tang’s gaze bypassed the others and landed squarely on Lin Yun. He could tell with a single glance that Lin Yun’s cultivation was at the Qi Sea Realm Eighth Layer, and that his Elemental Power was both stable and robust.

He was slightly taken aback, but not overly surprised. With his cultivation at the Ninth Layer of Qi Sea Realm, he naturally didn’t believe he couldn’t handle a mere fledgling.

"You’re Lin Yun?" he asked coldly.

Lin Yun simply nodded in response, not saying a word. Seeing this, Boss Tang suddenly bellowed, "Do you have any idea that you’ve committed a capital offense? This Seat can have you sent to the Punishment Hall for execution."

Boss Tang had expected his sudden outburst to make Lin Yun drop to his knees and beg for mercy. Yet, faced with the accusation, Lin Yun remained completely unmoved, his expression unchanged as he replied.

"Aren’t you going to ask why it happened?" Lin Yun replied calmly. His first impression of Boss Tang was terrible. ’This man’s arrogance knows no bounds. A mere Three-Stars Steward at the Ninth Layer of Qi Sea Realm dares to refer to himself as ’This Seat.’ He truly doesn’t know his own place.’

"Hmph. So arrogant for one so young," Boss Tang said, giving Lin Yun no chance to explain. "This Seat doesn’t care what your reasons were. You dared to kill, and for that, This Seat sentences you to death."

’So arbitrary. He wants to sentence me to death without asking a single question,’ Lin Yun thought. ’This Boss Tang is truly a tyrant. No wonder the servant disciple area is such a cesspool.’

"As the saying goes, the fish rots from the head down," Lin Yun said bluntly. "Now I finally understand how Fatty Kong and his brother could be so lawless. It turns out you’re all cut from the same corrupt cloth, from top to bottom."

Lin Yun was completely unafraid. Hearing his words, Boss Tang flew into a rage. To put it bluntly, he was the local Emperor here. The upper echelons of the Flawless Palace never concerned themselves with the affairs of servant disciples. There was an Elder who supposedly supervised the two Three-Stars Stewards, but that man’s time was short. He was too busy collecting life-extending Spirit Grass to ever bother with the servant disciples.

It was the first time a servant disciple had ever dared to accuse him to his face. How could Boss Tang tolerate it? "Brat!" he roared. "I see no need to send you to the Punishment Hall. This Seat will end you right here and now, and it will be considered ridding the Flawless Palace of a menace!"

"A menace?" Lin Yun let out a laugh. "Hah, that’s hilarious. You’ll finish me off here, dispose of my body so that no one’s the wiser, and then just grab a replacement. That way, the higher-ups in the Palace will never know. Am I right?"

Hearing Lin Yun’s words, everyone present was left speechless. It was true; they had done things like this more than a few times. The Flawless Palace’s upper echelons couldn’t care less about the servant disciples. As long as no major trouble erupted, the Stewards were free to do as they pleased.

It was precisely because of this long-term lack of supervision that these Stewards had all become so unrestrained. They didn’t even see the servant disciples under their charge as human beings. If one died, so be it. At worst, they could just recruit another.

"You little bastard, what nonsense are you spouting? You’re looking to die!" The Two-Stars Steward who had been Fatty Kong’s superior, the one who had been racking his brain for a way to get Lin Yun killed, saw him adding fuel to the fire and immediately jumped in. "Boss Tang, I suggest we execute this brat on the spot and rid the Flawless Palace of this menace!"

Seeing the man’s furious expression, a cold smirk appeared on Lin Yun’s face. He had noticed this particular fellow on the way over; his expression had been different from the other Two-Stars Stewards.

’He must be Fatty Kong’s boss,’ he had guessed.

Under the watchful eyes of the room, Lin Yun didn’t say another word. He executed Inch Step, and before anyone could even react, he appeared right in front of the man.

The man was completely powerless to resist as Lin Yun grabbed him by the throat and lifted him off his feet.

It all happened in the blink of an eye—the sudden attack, the seizing of a Two-Stars Steward. Led by Boss Tang, the other Stewards roared in fury, "Brat, have you gone mad? Do you have any idea what the consequences are for killing a Two-Stars Steward?"

"Consequences? I really don’t. Why don’t you tell me?" A faint, sinister smile played on Lin Yun’s lips. Then, right in front of everyone, he squeezed. A sharp crack echoed through the hall, and the Two-Stars Steward in his grasp went limp, his life extinguished.

"You... you..." They never thought Lin Yun would actually kill him. A Two-Stars Steward! This was a completely different matter from killing a mere servant disciple. A single thought ran through everyone’s mind: ’Has this guy lost his mind?’
