Searching within the Heaven-Swallowing Python’s territory, Lin Yun finally discovered the Ghost Fruit in the central region, hidden inside the trunk of a towering, ancient tree. He also found a triangular shard made of some unknown material.

’What is this...?’ Lin Yun had no idea what the shard was, but he could feel a terrifying power emanating from it.

Unsure of what it was, Lin Yun decided it was better to be safe than sorry and tried to store it in his Space Ring. To his surprise, the shard couldn’t be stored in the Space Ring at all.

It was as if the two repelled each other. No matter how many times Lin Yun tried, he couldn’t get the shard into his Space Ring.

’It can’t even be contained by a Space Ring?’ Lin Yun wondered. This only strengthened his conviction that the shard was something extraordinary.

Since he couldn’t store it away, Lin Yun had no choice but to tuck it into his robes. Fortunately, the shard wasn’t very large.

After stowing the shard, Lin Yun picked up the three Ghost Fruits next to it. ’This is great stuff.’ With these three Ghost Fruits, when his Soul Thought eventually evolved into a Divine Soul, it would be far more powerful than that of an ordinary person.

Pleased with his acquisition of the Ghost Fruit, Lin Yun didn’t dare to linger. With a flash, he took Little Ape and dashed back toward the cave.

Meanwhile, the Monk and Daoist were still being miserably hunted by the Heaven-Swallowing Python. The entire chase had left them complaining bitterly. ’This stupid snake is just ridiculously stubborn!’

The chase had already reached the outer edges of the Mysterious Forest, but the Heaven-Swallowing Python showed no signs of giving up. The Monk and Daoist had no other choice but to plunge into the forest’s periphery, where the air once again grew humid and scorching.

The outskirts of the Mysterious Forest were dim and home to Tree Spirits. Upon entering, the Monk and Daoist began to duck and hide, trying to use the terrain to lose the Heaven-Swallowing Python.

After countless near-death experiences, the Monk and Daoist finally shook off the Heaven-Swallowing Python. Or more accurately, the python had turned back on its own. Having chased them so far, it had suddenly remembered the Ghost Fruit it was supposed to be guarding.

No longer sensing the Heaven-Swallowing Python’s aura, the Monk and Daoist collapsed against a large tree, gasping for breath. During this chase, they had lost count of how many times they’d walked right up to the Ghost Gate.

"Lin Yun is a complete scoundrel! The next time we meet, I, this monk, will make sure he regrets it!"

"Yeah. As soon as we get out of here, I’m going to find my master. Once I break through to the Primordial Ocean Realm, I swear I’ll get my revenge with my own hands."

After cursing for a while, the two found a secluded spot to hide. Their injuries were severe, and it was extremely dangerous to remain in the Mysterious Forest in their condition. They decided to recuperate first before attempting to leave.

They took out their Spring Breeze Soft Rain Pills. The elixir was excellent, but it had been given to them by Lin Yun. The Monk and Daoist’s expressions turned grim as they stared at the pills in their hands. Still, they had no choice. With their current injuries, only the Spring Breeze Soft Rain Pill could heal them.

As the elixir went down, the Monk couldn’t help but curse, "This is fucking humiliating! To think that I, this monk, am relying on an elixir from that brat Lin Yun to save my own life!"

Lin Yun, of course, knew nothing of the Monk and Daoist’s suffering. He raced back to his cave without stopping. The moment he saw the Black-striped Tiger and the Iron Armor Beast, he immediately led them toward the outer edge of the Mysterious Forest.

’The Ghost Fruit is gone. Once the Heaven-Swallowing Python finds out, it’ll go berserk. I have to get out of the Mysterious Forest as quickly as possible, or it’ll be too dangerous.’

Given the Heaven-Swallowing Python’s status as a Tier Four Demon Beast, every demon beast in the Mysterious Forest would likely join in the hunt for him.

He raced toward the edge of the Mysterious Forest without a moment’s rest. Lin Yun didn’t even have time to refine the Ghost Fruit; he would have to find a place to do it after he escaped.

While Lin Yun rushed on without pause, the Heaven-Swallowing Python arrived back in its territory. The first thing it did was check on its Ghost Fruit.

When it saw the empty tree trunk, the Heaven-Swallowing Python was utterly stunned. All three Ghost Fruits were gone.

"Despicable humans! I’ll kill you! I’ll kill every last one of you! Not one will be spared!" Howling at the sky, the Heaven-Swallowing Python flew into a complete rage. The Ghost Fruit had always been its most prized treasure, and now, someone had stolen it.

Driven by the Heaven-Swallowing Python’s fury, the demon beasts of the Mysterious Forest began searching everywhere for Lin Yun and his companions. The order was given: any human found was to be killed on sight.

For a solid week, Lin Yun and his companions were repeatedly attacked by demon beasts. Fortunately, with Little Ape by his side, they managed to get through unharmed.

After a week of non-stop travel, Lin Yun finally reached the edge of the Mysterious Forest. There, he had the Iron Armor Beast go on its own way, while he, the Black-striped Tiger, and Little Ape continued their flight out of the forest.

’Once I’m out of the Mysterious Forest, the Heaven-Swallowing Python will be powerless. After all, there are people in the Southeast Domain who can fight it. If it causes too much of a stir and attracts experts from the Eastern Domain, even the Heaven-Swallowing Python could be killed.’

Not daring to stop, not even for a moment’s rest, Lin Yun raced against every second to get out of the Mysterious Forest.

Back in its territory, the Heaven-Swallowing Python listened to a report from a Tier Three Demon Beast. Enraged by the news, it swept its iron tail and instantly obliterated the beast.

"Useless trash! You couldn’t even stop one human!" it roared. "Despicable human, you dare steal my Ghost Fruit... Don’t you ever let me see you again!"

Upon learning that Lin Yun had escaped the Mysterious Forest, the Heaven-Swallowing Python didn’t dare act too brazenly and charge into human territory. After all, the Dominators of the Celestial Spirit Continent were still humans. Even as a Tier Four Demon Beast, there were people in the Southeast Domain who could deal with it.

Moreover, a beast of the Heaven-Swallowing Python’s level had certain pacts with powerful humans. Breaking them would benefit no one.

Having successfully escaped the Mysterious Forest, Lin Yun finally let out a small sigh of relief.

But he couldn’t relax for long. He was suddenly surrounded by four figures wearing Ghost Face Masks.

The auras radiating from the four were all that of Primordial Ocean Realm experts.

’People from the Wind Forest Sect?’ Lin Yun wondered as he studied the four. ’No, that seems unlikely. The Wind Forest Sect would have no reason to wear Ghost Face Masks.’

In truth, members of the Wind Forest Sect had come to the Mysterious Forest, but after more than eight months with no sign of Lin Yun, they had given up and left two months prior.

They didn’t believe that Lin Yun, who was only at the Third Layer of the Qi Sea Realm back then, could have possibly survived in the Mysterious Forest for so long.

"Who are you?" Lin Yun asked coldly, having ruled out the Wind Forest Sect.

"The ones who are here to take your life," one of them replied coldly.

With a flash of cold light, a Short Blade was already slashing toward Lin Yun.

Now at the Sixth Layer of the Qi Sea Realm, and with Little Ape and the Black-striped Tiger fighting alongside him, Lin Yun wasn’t afraid of facing even two experts at the First Layer of the Primordial Ocean Realm.

However, he was now being besieged by four Primordial Ocean Realm experts, and all of them were at the Third Layer of the Primordial Ocean Realm. This was a force he could not hope to match.

He retreated, but his attacker was simply too fast. Even though Lin Yun had dodged at the first possible moment, the man’s Short Blade still slashed a wound across his chest.
