When Adrian reached the camp, the fire pit was already lit. The women were sitting around the fire in a circle.
Tribe Mother and Rixxa sat still as if waiting for someone, while the younger generation, especially Amiya, was staring at the fire, wondering how it was burning so brightly without them putting additional wood into it. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Adrian didn’t know that either, he just knew that as long as the fire was started, the fire pit would burn continuously for one night and extinguish the next day.
If they needed fire during the day, they’d have to just put some wood on, and the fire would start again without the need to rub sticks together.
"Right... I forgot the chicken was with me! No wonder they were waiting," Adrian mumbled, looking at Amika sleeping peacefully in his arms. "It’s a good thing you fell asleep. Who knows how long they would have to wait otherwise."
As soon as he said those words, Raven flew over to his shoulder. Amiya noticed the bird and realized Adrian was back.
But the joyful moment did not last as she saw him carrying unconscious Amika. Amiya rushed over, thinking something had happened to her.
"What happened to her?" she asked, lightly slapping Amika’s cheeks.
Tribe Mother and Rixxa were right behind her, but they didn’t panic like her. The smell of mating was unmistakable. The older women exchanged glances and smiled.
Amika had done her job. Now that they had mated, the male wouldn’t leave the tribe. Just in case he got tired of her, both women had decided to offer themselves next.
They were already barren and hadn’t felt a man’s touch, so it didn’t matter to them. Keeping the male in the tribe was more important.
"Um..." Adrian smiled awkwardly as the women’s intense gaze fell on him. "She’s just tired. The washing took... longer than expected so, umm..."
Tribe Mother nodded slowly, though the knowing look in her eyes made it clear she wasn’t buying his excuse for a second.
"Male fought the wolf bravely," she said. "Amika must have expressed her thanks to you. Amiya, take Amika into the hut for rest."
At her words, Rixxa smiled, and Adrian’s cheeks turned red. He had assumed these women wouldn’t know much about sex, and he could fool them, but he was wrong on so many levels.
On the Savage Earth, apart from hunting for their survival, mating was the only thing the humans cared about. Even if they hadn’t experienced it, the older women knew more about sex than he thought.
Meanwhile, Amiya carefully took Amika from Adrian’s arms. As she did, her eyes lingered on Adrian for a moment before she left.
She wasn’t the only one. Even Sera kept stealing glances at him from across the fire. Adrian saw her and sent her a text.
"Good job with the fire, but did you collect sticks to use as skewers? We need them to grill the chicken."
Sera tilted her head in confusion. How was she supposed to know that he wanted skewers? Adrian hadn’t asked her to get those, he just wanted to make her work just because she looked at him at his embarrassed moment.
With a sigh, Sera walked to the nearby trees when she received another message.
"While you’re at it, grab some leaves too. We can use them as plates."
"Yes, M-Master!" she yelled back and began climbing the tree to cut some branches with her bone knife.
While she did that, Adrian sat on one of the stone slabs the women had placed around the fire. As he did, his eyes fell on Mika, who was sitting on the opposite side, glaring at him.
Just by looking in her eyes, he remembered Amika’s moans and quickly looked away. No one told him it would feel so strange to sleep with one twin and dine with the other.
Just then, Rixxa and Tribe Mother sat on his either side, Adrian’s eyes instinctively wandering over their barely concealed cleavage. The women noticed it too and leaned closer.
"Male, can we have some food?" Rixxa asked, nudging closer. "We haven’t had meat in some time."
Adrian didn’t reply, just pulled seven kilos of chicken meat from his inventory along with three kilos of wolf meat. Having a variety of food was important for him even in times like that.
He took out the [Hunting Bone Knife] and cut all the meat into bite-sized pieces before mixing them up. The women around him sat quietly, watching him work.
Sera was on her way back with the leaves and sticks when Adrian sent her another message. She wanted to cry, but still went to the stream to wash the leaves and sticks and herself too.
Twenty minutes later, the skewers were put around the fire. The animal fat he had gotten by salvaging the animals was put on top of the skewers, since that was the only ’seasoning’ he had on hand.
Tribe Mother and Rixxa leaned forward, their gazes locked onto the grilling meat with hunger. The aroma also brought Amiya out of the hut, and even Mika couldn’t stay indifferent anymore.
Adrian and Sera weren’t any different. They hadn’t eaten much since the morning, and even the smell of seasonless meat was making them drool alongside the rest of the women.
Although they all wanted to eat, they didn’t take the skewers themselves. In the tribal world, the strong had the right to distribute food.
Since Adrian had captured the chickens and killed the wolf, he would decide who gets how much food.
Did Adrian know about it? Of course not, he thought everyone was being polite, so he took a skewer first, then grabbed a large leaf to grab the meat and pulled the skewer away.
"Amiya, could you give it to Amika?" he said, grabbing another one of the fourteen skewers.
Amiya gulped down her saliva and nodded before running back inside the house. While she was gone, Adrian did the same thing, but this time placed the meat before the Tribe Mother.
Just because he had shared an intimate moment with Amika didn’t mean he had forgotten his goal of impressing the Tribe Mother first.
[Tribe’s favorability towards you has increased by 5 points.]
[Current favorability: 116/150 points]
[Current Standing: Honored Member]
He was about to put another plate before Rixxa when the Tribe Mother passed her plate to him.
"Tribe Mother—?"
"Eat, Male. You used a lot of strength today," she said, grabbing another skewer for herself. "Also... you can call me Nixa."
Adrian looked at the sizzling meat before him and just nodded with a smile.
"Thank you," he muttered, focusing on the food, after gesturing to others to do the same. "I can make more if you want, so don’t shy away and eat till your heart’s content."
He had barely taken a bite when Rixxa said something that made him choke.
"Your vitality is impressive. Most males would be spent after claiming a woman so thoroughly," she said, staring at his crotch. "Yet you still look... hungry."
Adrian shifted uncomfortably on the stone, his erection twitching again at her words. These tribal women really had zero shame when it came to this kind of talk.
He hadn’t even composed himself when another attack came, this time from Nixa.
"Amika is a fortunate woman. Perhaps you want someone more—"
"Master, you should rest too," Sera said, interrupting Nixa.
But Adrian’s attention was on something else. Sera didn’t stutter when calling him master, which only happened when the contract forced her... meaning she was willingly calling him master!
Wait... did she deliberately lower her top before leaning in? Like I thought, this servant of mine is truly audacious!
Unable to take it anymore, he grabbed three more ’plates’ of meat before standing up.
"I’ll take these for Amiya," he said before hurrying inside the longhouse.
