Portable water, materializing a house out of thin air, even brought back chickens...
These factors alone easily won over the females. They needed a strong man to fawn over, and Adrian had met all the benchmarks for it.
However, the Tribe Mother didn’t want to admit it. Besides, she had a feeling that if she stayed there any longer, she might actually fall too easily for the male.
So, she grabbed the chickens, intending to prep as an excuse to get away from Adrian.
"Oh, you shouldn’t bother with such things," Adrian said, taking the chickens away from her. "Let me do it to show my gratitude for saving me."
He should have said those words to Amiya, but considering she wasn’t there, he turned on his non-existent charm towards the Tribe Mother instead.
It wasn’t without a reason. He had noticed that improving his reputation in front of the Tribe Mother yielded better results. After all, most of the tribe wasn’t there to see his strange ’spells’, yet his overall reputation in the tribe kept increasing.
Adrian laid the dead chickens on the ground and aimed his hand over them. But instead of using scavenge on all of them, he just chose one chicken to start with since he didn’t know what yield he’d get from scavenging the chickens.
"Scavenge!"
However, instead of the familiar flurry of notifications, Adrian saw something else.
[Unable to scavenge the target.]
[Requires a liquid container for the item: Chicken Blood.]
Adrian looked at the empty plastic bottle in his hand.
"This should be fine, I guess," he mumbled, placing the bottle next to the chickens.
Even then, the skill didn’t work.
[Unable to scavenge the target.]
[Insufficient item: liquid container.]
[You can forcefully scavenge the item, but it would lead to waste of resource: Chicken Blood.]
Adrian scratched his head and then proceeded to scavenge either way. The only use of the chicken blood he knew about was as a fertilizer. Since he wouldn’t be planting crops any time soon, it didn’t matter if a bit of blood was wasted.
Besides, how much blood could a chicken possibly have—
[Scavenging successful!]
[Skill Yield: Raw Chicken Meat (~8.2kg), 1x Chicken Carcass (leftover bones), Poultry Fat (~2kg), Feather Bundle (~75 feathers), 1x Pair of Talons, and Chicken Blood (~0.6 liter).]
[Ancestor’s 10x Blessing in effect. Gained Raw Chicken Meat (~82kg), 10x Chicken Carcass (leftover bones and organs), Poultry Fat (~20kg), Feather Bundle (~750 feathers), 10x Pair of Talons, and 10x Chicken Blood (~6 liters).]
[Due to forced scavenging, item: Chicken Blood, is wasted.]
[Items can be stored in your inventory for preservation for up to 100 hours.]
"Ho Lee Phuk..." Adrian mumbled, looking at the bountiful yields.
The bottle he had placed next to them was filled to the brim with chicken blood, but most of it was wasted and seeped out of the chicken meat that remained stacked on the ground.
Just one chicken gave over eighty kilograms of meat... If I had scavenged them all, then... over three hundred kilograms!?
He looked at the dumbfounded expression of the women next to him. They were big and most likely had even bigger appetites. Even then, Adrian wasn’t sure if they could eat all that meat.
It was a blessing that he could preserve items, or else so much food would be wasted on such a small tribe.
[Tribe’s favorability towards you has dropped by 32 points.]
[Current favorability: 35/40 points]
[Current Standing: Accepted Member]
What the hell? Why did it drop so much—
"Male! What have you done!?" Tribe Mother yelled as she dug dirt from the ground. Even Mika, despite her injuries, did the same.
"What’s wrong—?"
The rest of the words froze in his mouth when he saw them covering the massive chicken blood trail.
Shit...
Things had been going so well for Adrian that he forgot where he was. It was a savage world full of predators, and he had spilled a shit ton of blood right next to their unprotected home. Wasn’t it like inviting them to kill them?
That’s why Tribe Mother wanted to take the chickens away for slaughter.
No wonder their favorability dropped so sharply... tsk, I should have been more mindful. No point crying over spilled milk now.
Once he realized the problem, he too dug dirt to cover the bloody smell after putting everything in his inventory.
[Tribe’s favorability towards you has increased by 7 points.]
[Current favorability: 42/65 points]
[Current Standing: Valued Member]
Tribe Mother kept her eye on Adrian, thinking he was about to pull another stunt. But relaxed when she saw him help.
Maybe it wasn’t intentional.
She thought.
By the time they finished covering up the bloody smell, Sera and the others returned covered in dirt, carrying live chickens. However, all those chickens slipped from their hands when they saw the strange building in the middle of their camp.
Thankfully, thick vines were wrapped around their legs so the chickens couldn’t run away before being caught again by Sera.
Meanwhile, the others still couldn’t take their eyes off their new home standing next to their old thatched hut. There was no comparison between the two.
Amika recovered first from the shock and rushed to Tribe Mother’s side, pointing at the longhouse.
"Mother... what is that?"
"A house," the Tribe Mother replied, brushing the dirt off her hands. "Remember to thank the male for it."
"The male...?"
[Tribe’s favorability towards you has increased by 24 points.]
[Current favorability: 66/80 points]
[Current Standing: Respected Member]
Phew, finally back to being respected.
Just then, every woman’s face turned towards Adrian, who just waved back at them. However, their sudden intense gaze made him uncomfortable, so he turned to Sera.
"What are you waiting for? Just put the chickens in the pen," he ordered, only to remember she couldn’t understand him and send her a message instead.
Sera read the message and dumped the chickens in the pen. Surprisingly, the birds that were so keen on running away immediately calmed down and began exploring the pen like they had lived there all their lives.
Just then, another message arrived.
"Fire? How am I supposed to light a fire!?" she frowned, looking at Adrian, who just pointed at the wood nearby and rubbed his hands together. "...by rubbing wood!? M-Master! This is unfair!"
She kept yelling, but no one could understand her ramblings.
"We should clean up before preparing food," Tribe Mother said, looking at their dirty selves. "Male... you come with us too."
"...eh?"
A plethora of cheers erupted in his head. His ancestors were celebrating already.
It was understandable, after all, the virgin was about to be surrounded by tribal beauties, and given his high favorability, things might happen between them.
Even the Playboy ancestor couldn’t hold back his tears.
"Finally, the boy will become a man..."
