The testing facility was an hour outside the city. It was a private track we used for prototype development of Wolfe cars. My engineers had been working on the new engine for six months and today was the first full performance test.

I didn’t give them often. I suited up quickly and slid into the driver’s seat. The engine roared to life, a deep aggressive growl that vibrated through my entire body.
