I wanted to scream at Finnegan who sat across from me. The table between us was filled with candles and flowers, the climbing roses on the walls filling the air with their scent.

Plates of food, wine glasses and gifts from everyone filled the table. Music drifted in the air as Meemaw and Gramps told ridiculous stories of my childhood and Finnegan eyes were on me.

"I have spent so long protecting myself from people who used what they knew about me. I didn’t think I could let you in that deep. I didn’t know that I could."

"It’s alright," I mumbled. "We all have secrets,"

"I don’t want that anymore between us," He rasped, stopping the dance. His arms tightened around my waist when I made to step back. "I want nothing between us,Abigail."

"You know that’s a very pretty tricky statement," I rambled, the nerves taking over me. Was he saying what I thought he was saying or was it just my fucking overactive mind at it again? "Is it that you don’t want anything between us or-"

"I want to be yours in every way, Abigail Kellerman,"

A little smile tugged at my lips. "I think you’re pretty much halfway there, Mr Wolfe,"

Then I rose on my toes and pressed my lips onto his in a soft kiss that told me the answer.
