Teaming Up with My Enemy to Rule the Apocalypse

Watching Harvey Cheney cry and admit his faults, Sierra Sullivan clicked her tongue and shook her head.

Every time they had met before, Harvey Cheney had been high and mighty, acting superior to everyone.

He probably never imagined that he would one day fall so low.

General Aldridge spat disdainfully. "What a spineless coward! With guts that small, you still dare to try and shift the blame onto others?"

Jayce crossed his arms, a curious look on his face. "General Aldridge, what do you think would be the best way to deal with this person?"

"Isn’t that simple?" General Aldridge replied instantly without a second thought, offering a solution. "I’ll have my men escort the father and son to apologize, building by building. We’ll confiscate all the food and drink from their home and give it as compensation to those who deserve it. Isn’t that Hugo Cheney a Wood Ability User? His power might be weak, but it’s better than nothing. From now on, we’ll have someone watch him. He’ll be required to grow one hundred pounds of potatoes or sweet potatoes every day. If he doesn’t, he doesn’t eat or sleep. As for this old geezer, he doesn’t have a Superpower and isn’t of much use. We might as well just kill him to eliminate any future trouble."

The moment General Aldridge finished speaking, a trickling sound was heard.

A liquid was dripping onto the floor.

At the same time, the pungent stench of urine began to fill the air.

Sierra Sullivan smelled it too.

But when she looked at Harvey Cheney, she saw that his pants were indeed wet.

General Aldridge shoved the man to the ground in disgust. "This piece of trash... killing him would just dirty my hands. Fine, I’ll leave him for you to deal with. Since there’s nothing else here, I’ll be leaving."

Seeing General Aldridge about to leave, Sierra Sullivan quickly called out to him, "Wait!"

"What is it?" General Aldridge looked over, confused. "Is there something else?"

"Later, will I still be able to see Dr. Hayes? I have some other things I want to ask him."

"You’re an interesting one, young lady." General Aldridge started to laugh. "You ask politely enough, but if I said no, would you actually not go?"

Even though he’d seen right through her, Sierra Sullivan wasn’t embarrassed. "I would!"

"Honest enough!" General Aldridge gave her a thumbs-up. "I appreciate people like you! Fine, after I get back, I’ll let him know. You can go see him whenever you want!"

"One more question!" Sierra Sullivan added.

General Aldridge wasn’t impatient at all. Instead, his eyes were filled with curiosity. "How do you have so many questions? Fine, ask away! Should I sit down so you can ask me properly?"

"That wouldn’t be a bad idea! We can go to Jayce’s house together, and we can even have a meal!" Sierra Sullivan said immediately.

"BWAHAHAHA! You sure know how to seize an opportunity, kid! All right! In the current situation, not many people are willing to invite others for a meal. I can’t miss out on the rare occasion someone’s treating me!

But let me warn you, I have a huge appetite! Don’t you go feeling sorry about it later!"

"Don’t worry!" Sierra Sullivan patted her chest. "I never go back on a promise, and I definitely won’t feel sorry! General Aldridge, eat to your heart’s content! We have other delicious things today, too!"

"Oh?" General Aldridge looked intrigued. "Well, now I’m even more curious."

Kevin Everett walked over with a smile. "All right, you guys head back first. I’ll join you after I’ve sorted things out here."

"Dad, do you want me to stay and help?" Jayce asked.

"No need." Kevin Everett refused him outright. "It’s a small matter, I can handle it myself. I don’t need you. You all go on back."

Since Kevin Everett had said so, Jayce didn’t insist.

The three of them left the building and went straight back to Kevin Everett’s residence.

The person who opened the door was Yvonne Shelby.

For a moment, Yvonne Shelby was a little surprised to see General Aldridge.

But it was only for a moment. She quickly composed herself.

A perfect smile appeared on Yvonne Shelby’s face. "General Aldridge, long time no see."

"You’re too kind, General Aldridge. I’m not a director anymore."

"It’s just a title! Is it really that important? Everyone calls me General, but does that actually make me a general?"

Hearing this, Yvonne Shelby also began to laugh. "Now that you put it that way, you’re right! Come on in!"

The group entered the house and exchanged a few more pleasantries before Sierra Sullivan took the opportunity to go into a room with Yvonne Shelby.

Candice Tate was in the room practicing her Superpower. The entire room was piled high with potatoes and sweet potatoes.

When she saw Sierra Sullivan come in, Candice Tate ran over excitedly. "Sis, you’re back!"

"I’m back!" Sierra Sullivan said, scooping Candice Tate into her arms. Cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, green beans, radishes, bok choy, pumpkins, winter melons...

Before the apocalypse, these vegetables were unremarkable. Anyone could afford them.

When grown with a Superpower, the aroma becomes even richer.

Even through the closed door, the fragrance wafted out into the living room.

General Aldridge, who was in the middle of a conversation with Jayce, sniffed the air. "What’s that smell?"
