Sierra didn’t refuse.

With so many people around, this place wasn’t completely safe. It was impossible for everyone to absorb Crystal Cores at the same time.

After all, Jayce had said that absorbing Crystal Cores required complete focus.

In that state, they would naturally neglect their surroundings, which could be dangerous.

The best solution was to take turns standing guard for each other.

Once in her mouth, the Crystal Core immediately melted into a liquid and was rapidly absorbed by her body.

Almost instantly, Sierra felt her entire body heat up.

This searing heat, the feeling that she was about to burst into flames—it was all too familiar to Sierra.

Sierra lost track of time. After she had fully absorbed all the energy, she didn’t hesitate to toss another Crystal Core into her mouth.

She only stopped when she felt a sense of fullness in her core, unable to absorb any more.

The moment she opened her eyes, Sierra saw Jayce looking at her, his eyes filled with worry.

"What’s wrong?" Sierra asked, confused.

Jayce’s expression was complicated. "Sierra, you just absorbed twenty-five Crystal Cores. Are you sure you’re okay?"

Twenty-five?

Sierra had been so completely immersed in the thrill of her growing Superpower that she hadn’t paid attention to anything else.

Hearing the number now, she was a little surprised herself.

However, she carefully checked her body and felt no discomfort whatsoever.

Sierra gave Jayce a brilliant smile. "Don’t worry, I’m perfectly fine. What time is it? How long was I out?"

As she spoke, Sierra raised her hand to look at the watch on her wrist.

"It’s already two in the afternoon?" Sierra exclaimed.

She had started after breakfast and had been absorbing them this whole time?

She’d even missed lunch!

She hadn’t felt it before, but now that she knew the time, her stomach started to burn with hunger.

She was starving!

Jayce looked both helpless and doting. "I didn’t dare disturb you, but I saved you some food."

As he spoke, he went over to the barbecue grill.

A moment later, he returned with a lunchbox.

The lunchbox had been kept warm in a pot.

When she opened it, she found steaming hot rice with Chinese sausage.

"Thanks!"

Sierra beamed. "You should hurry and absorb your Crystal Cores! I’ll stand guard for you!"

Jayce knew time was tight.

After all, in these conditions, night fell early, and not a single moment could be wasted.

Jayce sat down next to Sierra and tossed a Crystal Core into his mouth.

Sierra watched Jayce while she ate.

With his eyes closed, focused on improving himself, Jayce looked less sharp than usual and a bit more earnest.

’I thought Sierra was already a freak, but Jayce is on a whole other level!’

He himself had only absorbed five Crystal Cores and already felt like he was about to burst. There was no way he could compare to Sierra and Jayce, nor was there any point in trying.

To really compare would just be making things hard on himself.

The other Superpower Users felt much the same as Dominic Crawford.

They had originally thought that since they were all Superpower Users, there wasn’t much difference between them besides their specific abilities.

But now they knew. Not only were their Superpowers different, but their natural talents were on completely different levels.

’Good thing I’m not the competitive type,’ he thought, ’or I’d probably die from frustration.’

Jayce could feel the crowd’s complicated gazes on him, but he didn’t pay them any mind.

’How others see me doesn’t matter. I only care what Sierra thinks.’

"Sierra, why do you keep staring at me?"

Sierra answered honestly, "I’m trying to figure out why you’re so powerful."

’Just curious!’

’We were both reborn, so how come our upper limits are so different?’

But she quickly figured it out.

Jayce had awakened his Superpower on his own in their past life.

She, on the other hand, had only awakened hers in this life with the help of a Crystal Core.

’It’s only normal that Jayce’s talent is greater than mine!’

Just as she was thinking this, Jayce leaned in closer. "I’m not the powerful one. Sierra is the most powerful!"

"Nonsense!" Sierra said with a serious expression. "You can’t hold back. You have to make good use of your talent and work hard to elevate your Superpower. The stronger you are, the more I’ll have someone to rely on!"

’When you truly like someone, of course you want them to get better and better, not prevent them from becoming better than you.’

Jayce stared at Sierra for a moment before nodding. "Okay! I’ll work hard to become stronger than anyone! So that Sierra can do anything she wants!"

Their voices weren’t loud, but they weren’t sitting far apart, so Dominic Crawford and the others still overheard their conversation.

It was impossible not to be envious.
