As he spoke, Felix Foley looked at Sierra Sullivan and Jayce. "That goes for you two! Can you honestly swear you haven’t killed anyone since the apocalypse began? That you’ve never killed an innocent person?"

"Why not?" Sierra Sullivan retorted, raising an eyebrow. "I have killed people, but every last one of them deserved to die. I’ve never killed a single truly innocent person."

Jayce nodded. "Same here."

Dominic Crawford and the others all nodded in agreement.

The expressions on their faces were completely open, with no trace of guilt or panic.

Seeing the looks on their faces, Felix Foley knew they were telling the truth.

But the more he realized they were telling the truth, the harder it was for him to accept.

’We’re all suffering through this damn apocalypse, so why is their luck so good?’ he thought. ’How can they get this strong and live so comfortably without having to do anything against their conscience?’

’If I’d had their luck, would I have avoided becoming what I am today?’

Autumn Lynch took one deep breath after another, desperately trying to suppress the urge to speak, but in the end, she couldn’t hold back.

"You really haven’t killed any innocent people? Then what about my parents? Would they be dead if it wasn’t for you? They may not have died by your hand, but you’re the one who got them killed!"

Autumn Lynch stared daggers at Sierra Sullivan, her eyes filled with hatred. Her eyes were rimmed with red and glistening with tears that she stubbornly refused to let fall.

With her innocent, flower-like features, the expression was all the more heart-wrenching.

Sierra Sullivan watched Autumn Lynch with a placid expression, her voice completely flat when she spoke.

"Your parents were far from innocent. They got what they deserved."

Watching Sierra Sullivan’s actions, Felix Foley understood one thing clearly: she definitely wasn’t going to spare him.

"Did you all see that?" Felix Foley yelled to his men. "She’s beyond ruthless. She killed her own cousin without a second thought! Do you really think she’s going to spare any of you? We can sort out our own issues later. Right now, we need to work together, kill them, and survive!"

Felix Foley’s words swayed the group.

When it came down to it, all they wanted was to survive.

They would side with whoever could keep them alive!

Nothing else was even a consideration.

At Felix Foley’s command, the entire group charged toward Sierra Sullivan and her team.

In an instant, the room flashed with a dazzling array of Superpowers.

And at that very moment, Felix Foley had already slipped over to the window.

The house didn’t have any security bars on the windows. He just had to open it, and he could jump straight out.

Before the apocalypse, jumping from a tenth-story window was a death wish.

But now, jumping out that same window was a bid for survival.

Felix Foley had just opened the window and was about to leap out when someone grabbed his shirt from behind.

"Who is it?"

Felix Foley turned and saw his most trusted subordinate.

"Let go!" Felix Foley whispered. "Let’s jump out together while they’re not looking. I’ll go first! Once we’re out of this room, we’ll head straight back to the cannery. We can go back to living like we used to!"

The subordinate’s face was full of agreement. "You’re right, Felix! I’m with you all the way! Hurry, Felix, I’ll keep watch!"

Hearing this, Felix Foley was overjoyed.

’What an idiot!’

’He actually believed me after I just said that offhandedly!’

’Once I get out of here—’

As the thought crossed Felix Foley’s mind, he immediately turned back around.

But before he could even lean out the window, a sharp pain erupted in his chest.

In that instant, Felix Foley’s body froze on the spot as he coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Felix Foley slowly looked down to see the blood-soaked tip of a blade protruding from his chest.

Felix Foley’s eyes widened. "Wh...y...."

The blade was swiftly pulled back.

The moment the blade was withdrawn, Felix Foley’s body slumped limply to the floor.

The subordinate looked down at Felix Foley with contempt. "Did you really think I’m an idiot? If I let you get away, I’d have to keep taking your orders, keep groveling before you! Who wants to live like that? With you dead, I’ll go back on my own and become the new boss!"

He was overcome with excitement. His face flushed as he imagined the wonderful life that awaited him.
