The cube materialized, its presence immediately noticeable to Kaizer’s telesthesia. He could even faintly sense that it weighed 4,500 kilograms, which was significantly heavier than his first test.

Still, despite knowing this, the young man wasted no time in gripping it with his mind and hoisting it upward.

The strain came quickly, but so did his control, as this was no longer an exercise in raw strength but one of refinement. After all, with his training, it was impossible to still lift clumsily without using certain means to make his lift more efficient, and this was proven as the cube rose steadily to 15 meters, where it hovered, quivering under his grasp.

Many seconds passed while Kaizer somewhat laboriously maintained his grip, soon reaching 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 20 seconds, and even 25 seconds.

Finally, at an impressive 30 seconds, his grip faltered and the cube dropped, though he managed to slow its descent rather than let it crash to the ground.

"Maximum sustainability reached: 4,500 kilograms lifted to 15 meters for 30 seconds, equivalent to holding up an armored SUV at full extension."

Kaizer wiped the light sheen of sweat from his forehead, his breathing steady. His mental stamina had dropped by another 15%, meaning that he was almost half tuckered out.

"Telekinesis test complete, calculating results..." the AI announced.

"Applicant Kaizer has demonstrated significant improvement across all three categories. Updated assessment: Telekinesis has been upgraded to S-rank."

Kaizer blinked in surprise as he had suspected this, but was not sure. After all, his Telekinesis was previously rated to be A, not A+, which was why it did not manage to directly kill Bjorn like it did Soren until he ’leveled up’.

"Finally, some recognition for your talent." The Dean mused in a joking manner.

Kaizer nodded with a smile growing on his lips, feeling proud and accomplished. To jump from A to S-, that was akin to going from running 100 meters in 20 seconds to running 100 meters in 9.5 seconds.

Still, the testing wasn’t over as there was more to account for.

To that point, the AI voice continued as it reset the room. "Applicant Kaizer, please be ready for the Telesthesia test. Proceed to the terminal and retrieve a vial of Life Essence."

The vial emerged from a compartment, and Kaizer took it, familiar with its sharp yet revitalizing taste. As before, the wave of clarity washed over him, his fatigue dissolving in an instant.

Even though he wouldn’t be able to measure how much mental stamina both would drain, he was here to test them individually and needed to be in his best state to get the right results.

"Applicant Kaizer, please state how many items you can detect in the room and describe their properties."

Like last time, hundreds of objects materialized that were far more complex and confusing than before.

This time, Kaizer didn’t even need to concentrate as the moment they appeared, his mind wrapped around each one, cataloging their details within seconds and then calmly repeating them to the AI rapidly.

"Applicant Kaizer, please repeat the same process under dynamic conditions."

The objects began to move, darting unpredictably like scattered leaves in a storm. Kaizer simply closed his eyes as movement or no movement, it made no difference to him. He spoke with ease, tracking everything as though it were standing still.

The final test altered the objects again, shrinking them to the size of peas and groundnuts. Even so, Kaizer’s perception remained sharp, outlining every last one with effortless clarity.

"Telesthesia test complete. Updated assessment: Telesthesia remains at S-rank with an improved maximum range of 500 meters."

Kaizer nodded, unsurprised this time. As stated before, climbing each state of the S rank was like crossing a chasm, and even though his maximum telesthesia range increased, his actual focus remained the same as before.

That one could only be increased by training, so he had his work cut out for him.

After a period of calculation, the AI gave its final verdict.

"Applicant Kaizer, your Esper Rank has been revised to solid S-class. Please proceed to the administration center to update your records."

The Dean nodded and went to the terminal, using his authority to directly ratify the changes and tapping his cane on the ground, taking them back to his office.

After sitting down, the Dean smiled with satisfaction. "Things are different. Reaper grew slowly over the course of his training, starting at the S-class and reaching S+ by graduation. He also had no real interference or obstacles until he graduated and entered the Supreme Force."

Dean Rochester pointed at Kaizer gently. "You, however, are growing like a rocket. Not even two months, and you have gone from S- to S-class, unprecedented in the history of esperdom. But precisely because of that, you will face obstacles and challenges right from the get-go that will only escalate, even when you become the officially acknowledged strongest."

"Are you ready for this, Kaizer?" The Dean asked with a smile.

Kaizer was silent, then glanced at Dean Rochester placidly. "I am, and even if I didn’t, the gun has already been fired. Not to mention that their spies in the Academy Administration will soon fish out my improvement, which will cause them terror. If I can grow this fast in 2 months, then what about in 5 years when I graduate?"

Dean Rochester smiled even wider. "You will not go down as easily as Drake did, because you have more insight than he did at your age. Keep it up."

The Dean also placed Kaizer’s little box down. "I’ve updated your talisman and items. I noticed you didn’t bother to use the other ones, so I kept them there and added three new black talismans."

Kaizer glanced at the box that was pushed over to him and shook his head. "I won’t need this anymore."

Dean Rochester frowned slightly. "Are you confident? Anything can happen, just like this time. Even if you discovered a basic and rudimentary method to forcefully stop time, it places too great a burden on you."

"No, I am not saying that I don’t want them, but rather that I won’t need them for what is going to happen next." Kaizer explained directly.

Dean Rochester was slightly confused. "What do you mean?"

Kaizer closed his eyes and gathered his thoughts. "I never want to experience that feeling of helplessness and fear from my early days of awakening before I came to the academy and relive the feeling of paranoia from fearing if a random attack will occur."

"To achieve that, I need to master my power and I need to master myself. As such, I would like to request that you personally create a full training regime for me that covers every aspect of my power, one that lasts at least 12 hours." Kaizer stated his goal.

Dean Rochester was stunned. "You plan to enter some form of... retreat? Just training day and night, relying on the healing of the medical pod and other healing supplements?"

Kaizer nodded. "Exactly. I do not plan to come out or go home until I have 100% achieved the limit of what I can within my current power before I raise my base stat again."

Kaizer glanced at the Dean. "Can you do this for me, Grandpa William?"

Dean Rochester’s lips twitched. This brat is morally kidnapping me! Just like his grandfather, that bastard George!

Thinking about his shameless old friend and looking at Kaizer, Dean Rochester’s eyes couldn’t help but soften. "I will find a way to handle your requirement to do a task every month until you achieve your perfect state, but there are some things you cannot avoid, like the end-of-year competition."

"I have no problem. I just want to train as much as I can and push myself to the limit." Kaizer responded immediately with sincerity.

"Okay, leave it to me. You should inform your sister and use this time to go visit your family because they might not see you for a long time." Dean Rochester suggested with a smile.

Kaizer stood up and bowed. "Thank you, Grandpa William."

Dean Rochester waved his hand in acceptance, and just as Kaizer was about to leave, he said: "Oh and don’t forget to take Sophia with you to see your folks. I know your father and your aunt as I was often with them as children, so they should know me. Let Sophia represent me as I am going to be busy preparing your things."

Kaizer paused and turned back to glance at the Dean speechlessly. Looking at that harmless smile of grandfatherly kindness, Kaizer felt that it really was that birds of a feather flock together.

There was a reason why his troublemaker grandpa and the Dean were best friends!

Dean Rochester laughed. "Sophia will be fine, even if Rina executes her, she can also bring her back. Just make sure that they don’t go too far."
