Kaizer exhaled slowly, his fingers tapping lightly against the armrest as his mind rolled, analyzing the situation with a calm nature.
There were six hijackers who were armed but were also non-espers that had managed to subdue the pilots, meaning there were at least two more in the cockpit.
He could kill them in an instant by smashing their skulls with telekinesis, but that was too easy and too simple. Also, given the beatdown he just experienced, despite being calm, the young man was naturally irritated deep down, and then these fellows appeared.
As such, he decided to vent a bit and do something more... amusing.
Without moving a muscle, he reached out with his Telekinesis, applying the lightest nudge possible.
The first hijacker, the bald one with the Red Cross uniform, took a step forward to assert dominance over the nearby passengers, but his foot caught on absolutely nothing.
His momentum carried him forward, and with a startled yelp, he slammed face-first into a first-class seat divider. The impact was so hard it knocked his gun out of his hands, sending it spiraling into the lap of an elderly woman, who promptly began beating him over the head with it.
The other hijackers blinked in shock.
"What the hell, Hassan?!" One of them hissed.
"I—I tripped!" The man sputtered, his face red with embarrassment.
Kaizer tapped his armrest with one finger slowly.
The second hijacker, a wiry man with a thin mustache, immediately moved to take control of the situation, raising his gun. Just as he did, Kaizer flicked one of his fingers ever so slightly, nudging the overhead luggage compartment above him.
The latch popped open, and a heavy carry-on suitcase that was likely stuffed with someone’s absurd amount of shopping tumbled out, hitting the fellow squarely on the head.
With a loud THUD, the man collapsed like a sack of potatoes, groaning as he twitched on the floor, saliva leaking from his mouth.
Maria had to physically bite her lip to suppress a laugh. "Oh, this is some good shit."
The remaining four hijackers were now visibly nervous, but they still clung to their professionalism as elite mercenaries.
"Stay focused!" the third hijacker barked while he reached into his pocket, likely for a communication device to inform his superiors of the weirdness here.
Kaizer tapped his armrest with two fingers now and made his move when all parties were distracted.
He nudged the drink cart from the nearby galley ever so slightly, which made the wheels, as if possessed, gain just enough speed to roll directly into the fellow’s shins. With a strangled yelp, the man flipped forward, his gun flying out of his grip, while the drink cart didn’t stop there.
As if guided by fate (or a very wicked esper), it careened down the aisle while picking up speed until it collided directly with hijacker number four, knocking him straight into an unoccupied seat. His arms flailed as he struggled to free himself, but his vest got caught in the reclining mechanism, trapping him in a half-folded position like an origami crane.
Sophia opened one eye and frowned slightly. "Really, Kaizer?"
Kaizer shrugged innocently and began tapping his armrest with four fingers. "Not my fault they’re this unlucky."
Hijacker five, having witnessed his comrades fall one after another without understanding how, was now visibly panicked, understanding that there was something supernormal taking effect.
He pointed his weapon around wildly. "What is happening?! Come out this instant, fiend!!"
Kaizer decided to go for a classic bullying trick, using just the lightest mental push to cause the man’s belt buckle to unclasp itself.
The second the fellow took a step forward, his pants plummeted to his ankles, causing him to trip and crash onto the floor, knocking himself out in the process with his ass up in the air.
Julia, who had been coldly watching to assist in case of any mishap, was unable to stop her lips from curling upward as she actually snorted at that one.
The final hijacker, the supposed leader, stood frozen in absolute confusion and terror. His eyes darted around the cabin, desperately trying to comprehend the supernatural disaster unfolding before him and why it was happening to them.
Kaizer sighed, stopping his tapping fingers, which had now reached five, and lifted his drink to take a sip.
"Are you going to drop your gun, or do I have to help?" He asked the fellow softly, as he was closest to him.
The hijacker, realizing he was entirely alone and completely outclassed, nodded rapidly and placed his weapon on the ground before raising his hands in surrender. It was always better to deal with the police, as his backers could easily get him out of any prison, than to be humiliated like this or even die.
Maria finally burst into loud laughter. "Hahahaha, what a bunch of losers!"
"They were not bad, but they were woefully under-equipped," Julia agreed, shaking her head in amusement.
The passengers, who had been too stunned to react during the entire fiasco, finally let out a collective sigh of relief as flight attendants scrambled to regain control of the cabin.
When they opened the door to the pilot area, they found that the two pilots were back in their seats, their faces somewhat pale as they glanced at the two hijackers who had suddenly been controlled like marionettes to give up the seat back to them, then smashed their heads against each other like billy goats.
The pilots knew that no one would believe them, so the crew and the passengers ended up clapping loudly for them, thinking that they had staged a fight and taken down the two mercenaries.
The entire time, Rina did not say a word nor did she tear her eyes off her phone, seemingly texting someone about something while using the first-class airplane wifi.
Eventually, the plane came to land at the airport of Beta City, the soft chime of the aircraft’s intercom signaling their arrival.
"Welcome to Beta City. Local time is 3:45 AM, and the weather is a cool 57 degrees. We thank you for flying with us and hope you have a wonderful stay."
As the plane taxied to the gate, Kaizer rolled his shoulders, glancing at the other passengers.
The earlier hijacking fiasco had left most of them jittery, but now they were more relieved than anything. A few even threw glances at the speechless pilots, still believing the absurd notion that they had heroically reclaimed the cockpit by themselves.
Maria stretched, cracking her neck with a satisfied grin. "Damn, I forgot how good it feels to fly first class. If only every trip involved dumbasses to bully."
Julia gave her a tired look. "If every flight had hijackers, air travel would be unbearable."
The ’fasten seatbelt’ sign flickered off, and the passengers immediately began scrambling to collect their belongings. Flight attendants rushed to debrief the passengers, assuring them that security personnel would be waiting at the gate.
Rina, still focused on her phone, let out a soft hum as she typed something before putting the device away.
Sophia checked the time, then turned to Kaizer. "The Supreme Force should be waiting for us at the security checkpoint. Given the incident, they’ll probably expedite our processing."
Kaizer nodded. "Makes sense, let’s move."
The squad gathered their light ’luggage’ and made their way toward the exit, and as expected, uniformed airport security and Supreme Force agents were already stationed at the gate.
Passengers were herded toward questioning booths, while medical personnel checked on those who were still shaken.
One of the agents, a tall man in dark fatigues with an earpiece, spotted them and immediately gestured them over. His badge, pinned neatly to his chest, identified him as Captain Warren, Supreme Force Special Operations.
"Overlord Squad, we’ll be handling your clearance and transport. Follow me," He said briskly, leading them away from the civilian disembarkation area.
They passed through a side corridor where other operatives had set up a temporary processing station with scanners that whirred as their identities were confirmed via biometric verification.
Unlike the usual airport security, Supreme Force personnel were quick and efficient with no unnecessary delays.
Maria leaned on the counter, watching as the scanner registered her ID. "I love VIP treatment."
"I wouldn’t call it VIP if it’s mandatory," Julia retorted coldly.
Kaizer barely paid attention to their exchange, watching as one of the agents quietly relayed information through his comms. It was subtle, but he caught the way they occasionally glanced at him and his team, likely confirming their involvement in the hijacking incident.
Captain Warren, sensing his observation, addressed him directly. "Officially, the hijacking is being classified as an ’isolated security breach’ with no esper involvement mentioned."
Kaizer glanced at him directly. "Even though it obviously was?"
Warren didn’t miss a beat. "Even though it obviously was. The Bureau doesn’t want to make this bigger than it needs to be."
Maria snorted. "I guess ’random non-esper terrorists get bodied by first-class passengers’ makes for a less embarrassing report."
Warren didn’t comment, simply nodding as their clearance was finalized. "You’re good to go. Transport is waiting outside."
With that, they were led through a separate exit, bypassing the general airport chaos.
