His plan is to lay low and do the barest minimum as the leader and earn his merit points. If everything goes his way, there shouldn't be a problem doing just that.

After his meeting with the librarian, the mission started earnestly. The librarian joined with the wayfarer mentally, which caused its speed and power to increase.

Until it finds something, the soldiers were to hold on within the wayfarer doing nothing. It was an unpleasant experience.

Staying within a wayfarer meant that they were protected from the cold and the noise outside. But they weren't saved from the darkness.

The kunuts have eyes that can see in low-light conditions, so they were fine. They tried to accommodate the human's need for light, but the best they could provide were glowing stones.

Staying in the humid and dark bowels of a giant beast turned out not to be a pleasant experience for the soldiers. It didn't help that they were surrounded by potentially hostile entities. It put the soldiers on edge.
