He chuckled and got to work discarding their bodies and the cases they came in. Then he made his way down the building. Next he navigated the city in the direction of New London.

The weird feeling that Extraordinary Perception was giving him became intense as he made his way across the abandoned city. At first it was just a nagging sensation at the back of his mind. But it became a prickling sensation across his skin.

He could sense incursion zombies behind walls. He didn’t need to lay his eyes on them to perceive their position. He saw every dangerous thing around him in a 360-degree vision.

When he did lay his eyes on them directly, he saw that they were producing some kind of light that he hadn’t noticed before. This light ranged from white, yellow, and orange. It was the general range of the danger they were to him.

Most of them were yellow. But when he changed his physique to steel, they all became white. It meant that they had become less dangerous to him.

He thought to himself, "It seems the range of colors intensifies with danger. That’s good."

He can also see alphabets around the incursion zombies. The alphabets range from ??? to F. They represent the power rating of what he is looking at.

Seeing ??? meant that what he was looking at was unranked. It matched the color of white that they were giving off even in his normal form.

His eyes can see more now, which is a good thing. But it is giving him a headache. The 360-degree vision, color coding, and power identification are things he isn’t used to seeing, so it’s mentally draining.

He doesn’t know if the headache will ever stop. But on the plus side, he was able to navigate through the city easily without encountering hordes of incursion zombies. These hordes were not a problem before. He could always barrel through them or jump over them. But now he doesn’t have to do so.

Unfortunately, the prickling of his skin and his headache only got worse the closer he was to New London. He saw more colors from more powerful zombies. They were mostly orange, and they were rare.

The frequency of their appearance and those of other incursion zombies in general reduced the closer he got to the city. By the time he reached the gate of the city, there were no zombies around.

At this point, the headache and weird feeling had reached their peak. He had goosebumps all over his body, a heavy ball of dread was growing within his stomach as if he had swallowed something unpleasant and heavy, and a feeling of impending doom was creeping all over him.

The feelings were so bad that he couldn’t enter the city. He had to stop just shy of the gate.

He stopped in front of the city because of fear. From where he stood, he could see people in the city giving off more colors like orange and red. But they were not the reason why he felt like he would die at the very next moment.

There was something in the city that was very dangerous to him. And he could see it too. It was a giant black star beneath the city.

His gaze didn’t see through the layers of earth and rock to see the threat beneath the city. He just knew that it was there and that it was massive.

He shouldn’t be able to see black light, but he still saw it. It was like a shadow extending all over the city. Its light made the light of others dim.

The giant star wasn’t moving. It was still, but it felt like it could kill him instantly. Its inaction didn’t reassure him.

He didn’t know how long he had stood there, just standing still, hoping that the giant star wouldn’t notice him and devour him. He didn’t hear Wrath calling his name either.

Nothing from his environment could draw his attention away from the black star. All he saw was that giant ball of disaster beneath the city, and all he could hear was his heart attempting to jump into his throat at a rate of 180 times in a minute.

He was reluctant to do so, but he did it when she shouted at him again. When he disabled the ability, his headache left him and his body relaxed visibly.

He stopped seeing things that he shouldn’t have seen before, but he still couldn’t forget what he saw under the city. That thing had left a big impression on him. Even without seeing it, he doubts he will be able to enter New London ever again.

Wrath said, "See? There is nothing to fear."

Wrath rolled her eyes. "If you were going to move, why did you have to tell me, and why did you have to whisper it? You could just have moved and I would have followed."

He didn’t reply. He moved away from the city for a considerable distance before speaking again. During the time he was moving away from the city, he was constantly checking his back to make sure he wasn’t being followed.

He even wanted to activate his ability again but decided against it. He didn’t want to see that thing again.

Eventually he said to Wrath, "I knew there was a demigod in the city, but I thought he or she was just like everyone else. I thought I would be safe as long as I didn’t draw its attention. But now I know that it can kill all of us in the city with one move and there is nothing I can do about it. How can I still take things leisurely?"
