The end of the attack allowed silence to return to the world. It had been so loud before that the sudden absence of the roaring main gun of the spacecraft was disconcerting.

When he looked at the spot where the purple waterfall had fallen onto, what he saw was a large pit. It looked like a crater, but it was deeper than a crater. It was more of a well with a wide top.

He said in awe, "So much damage and destruction. I doubt anything can survive that."

Wrath snickered beside him.

He was about to ask her why she snickered when he saw a tiny purple figure rise out of the glowing red pit.

His awe increased further when he saw that. He said, "Unbelievable."

He could say one word. It was the word that could convey the depth of what he is seeing and what emotions he is experiencing at the moment. He just couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

The tiny purple lady stood above the pit looking at the giant swordsman staring at her. The two of them were close to each other, but they didn’t speak.

It was then that he noticed that he could finally see the true figure of the elven king. He said, "So that’s who wanted to kill me. She is not bad-looking."

Wrath nodded in agreement. "If you had been killed by her, you would officially be the paragon to die to the prettiest enemy yet."

Kelvin rolled his eyes at that.

He and Wrath continued to watch to see what would happen next. He was silent and held onto his breath so that he wouldn’t miss anything. But all he got in return was silence.

Finally the elven king pointed at the human demigod and said, "I hate..."

She couldn’t complete what she wanted to say because her body began to crack. Light was revealed through the cracks in her skin.

As the cracks expanded, so did the intensity of the light. Eventually the light within her was exposed. It flared for a brief moment before it went dim.

Then she was no more. She had shattered completely and was scattered into the wind.

It was a silent and short process that began from the moment she raised her hand and ended before she could finish what she wanted to say.

What was left in her place was a tiny shining stone. It looked like a firefly in the night.

The blurry human giant took the shining stone and disappeared.

Not many people that had witnessed the fight were still alive. But there were a lot of people that had witnessed the final radiance of the elven King.

The human soldiers that saw it were full of awe and pride. But the indigenes of the world wailed and cried. They raised their voice to the sky and wept.

Wrath said to him, "A demigod has died."

Her tone was solemn. Kelvin expected her to be jumping for joy, so he was taken aback by her reaction.

She continued, "This is just the first one. There will be many more over the course of the war. Immortals will be forced to become mortal."

He asked her, "What was that tiny stone? I left something for it."

She chuckled and asked, "You wanted it right?"

He nodded, which made her shake her head. "Unfortunately, it is very valuable, and everyone wants it. It is a divine spark. With it, you can light up your soul and achieve possible eternal life."

"There are only two ways for you to get it. You either kill a demigod and take it for yourself, or you reach level 99 of the Tower of Destiny and have one bestowed to you by the Yggdrasil civilization."

He asked, "Shouldn’t there be a third option?"

She shook her head. "Forget about the third method. It is the same as the first option. If you can pull off the first option, then you can do the third. But if you can kill a demigod, why would you need to trouble yourself with the Yggdrasil army and jump through hoops for them?"

She was right, so he nodded in agreement and said, "So the divine spark is what I need to become a demigod. I didn’t know that." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

She nodded. "It is. With it, you will be able to take charge of your destiny."

He asked, "What do you mean by that?"

She sighed before replying. "As a demigod, you break away from the shackles of mortality. Apart from the indefinite life span, you also become immune to mind reading."

He asked, "Like the mind-reading ability?"

She shook her head. "I mean the mind-reading of every true god. Every true god can kill any mortal with a glance. They can also read their minds like a book. A mortal is worse than an ant to a true god."

"Actually, a demigod is an ant to a true god. Mortals, no matter how powerful they are, are the fungus that live on ants compared to a true god."

Kelvin nodded in understanding and said, "So Aganju is very powerful. I see why you were so worried about the fate of this expedition."

She looked him in the eye and asked, "If you don’t remember, what does it matter?"

He didn’t know what to say. He didn’t even know what to feel. After all, he can’t remember. But he feels that he should be afraid or angry.
