The demigod still left began firing a series of orders. The army began moving as they followed its orders.

First, the spacecraft fired its guns into the crowd of approaching flying creatures. This broke their formation and slowed them down. It allowed the flying creatures in the first division to take off.

While the flying creatures in the first division went to hold back the enemies, aircraft of various sizes and shapes dropped down for the soldiers of the second division to board them.

Soon the second division was flying out to claim aerial superiority. About half of them remained in the spacecraft.

Next, drop shutes were lowered from the roof of the internal space. The soldiers of the first division that were small enough entered them first. Then they were dropped to the surface down below.

Those who were small enough were about 10% of the first division. So they were 300 thousand in number. It was a great number, but far too small compared to what was waiting for them down below.

The soldiers of the third division were next. All of them were small enough. So all one million would be dropping down.

Only half of the second division and 60% of the first division would remain in the spacecraft for now. They would come out when a place has been cleared for the spacecraft to land.

All of these took hours. Even though everyone was fast, it still took time for drop shutes to be lowered and for them to enter.

Unfortunately, things weren’t so easy. Apparently, this world had surface-to-air missile systems and anti-air defense systems.

Their drop shute had to engage its rockets to maneuver, cloaking to hide itself, decoy flares to deceive trackers below, and even point-defense guns to protect itself.

Even so, many drop shutes didn’t make it. They were struck in the sky and exploded into a shower of fire and light.

The main culprit was an array of spiked coniferous trees. They shot their spikes into the sky like giant javelins.

These javelins were deadly missiles. They were fast and had strong penetrative power. Many of the casualties in the sky were due to these trees.

There were thousands of them set up in the area. But they were not the most dangerous obstacles that the soldiers had to overcome.

The most dangerous obstacle was the giant worm that shot large green globs of acid into the sky.

The green globs of acid were slow and easy to dodge. Even though they were large, they didn’t hit much of anything.

But after reaching the apex of their flight, they would scatter into drops of acid. These drops of acid fell like rain to the earth.

The acid didn’t affect biological material. So living creatures were safe from it. Only inorganic matter had a lot to worry about from them.

One drop of this acid was enough to chew a hole the size of a football into the drop chutes. Something of that size isn’t much of a problem. The problem is that a drop of acid is rarely alone.

The only defense they had against the acid rain was their force field. But it could only protect them for so long before it disappears and they are exposed to the acid rain.
