After Su Yan’s warning, everyone immediately grew vigilant, boarding their Mechas and swiftly taking flight.

But they hovered in the air for a long time, seeing no unusual movement on the ground below.

They all turned to look at Su Yan.

Jiang Zheyu, sitting in the palm of Su Yan’s hand, noticed that the Zerg underground was now concealing its spiritual power even more furtively.

Even so, Jiang Zheyu could still feel it.

Su Yan hadn’t actually detected the Zerg’s spiritual power fluctuations. The Zerg in Zone -1 and Zone -2 were different from those in Zone 1.

The Zerg in Zone -1 and Zone -2 were better at hiding, and their spiritual power fluctuations were even harder to detect.

Su Yan hadn’t detected anything, but he chose to trust Jiang Zheyu. The Hongying Mecha’s other arm transformed into a Laser Cannon. A torrent of light erupted, blasting directly toward the ground as a series of violent explosions roared.

A massive crater was blasted into the ground. Billowing clouds of dirt and dust filled the air, making the already gloomy, dim surroundings even more oppressive, like the end of the world.

It was then that the ground began to shake violently.

The earth began to crack, fissures spreading outward from the center of the crater.

Now, everyone felt the Zerg’s spiritual power fluctuations firsthand.

A buzzing psychic assault washed over everyone.

Fortunately, everyone had been on guard since Su Yan’s warning, so they merely frowned at the impact of the Zerg’s psychic assault.

The ground split open, and from deep within, a thin purple wing slowly unfurled, followed by another.

All the Mechas’ Laser Cannons fired at the Purple-winged Zerg on the ground.

The wings of the Purple-winged Zerg were merely singed gray.

A moment later, the Purple-winged Zerg erupted from the ground.

Its full form was suddenly revealed to everyone.

It had a massive, purple, insectoid body covered in overlapping patterns. Its torso was covered in maws, which, when opened, revealed ghastly white teeth and deep, scarlet gullets.

Its enormous body was as large as a suit of Battle Armor.

It shot rapidly toward Jiang Zheyu.

Jiang Zheyu couldn’t even see how it got so close. The maws gaped open all around her, making her skin crawl.

She had never been this close to a Zerg before, and for a moment, her mind completely shut down.

Su Yan gently closed his hand around her, moving so fast that he left afterimages.

Her vision blurred; all she could hear was the deafening screech of metal grinding against a heavy, sharp object.

Unseen by Jiang Zheyu, Su Yan’s Hongying Mecha had spun around, its other arm transforming into a sharp blade that scraped against the Purple-winged Zerg’s razor-thin wings.

A violent gust of wind swept past as the Hongying Mecha swiftly retreated.

He was still carrying Jiang Zheyu, so his top priority was her safety. Thus, he focused on dodging the Purple-winged Zerg’s attacks.

Su Yan retreated quickly with Jiang Zheyu. The Purple-winged Zerg charged after them, but halfway there, all the Mechas of the Imperial Army swarmed in from the sides, cutting in front of Su Yan to block the Zerg’s advance.

The Mechas instantly shifted into their humanoid forms and charged the Purple-winged Zerg, their massive, powerful fists flying mercilessly toward the creature.

The Purple-winged Zerg was instantly surrounded by the Mechas.

Multi-colored Mechas swarmed around the Purple-winged Zerg. Every so often, a Mecha would be knocked to the ground by its enormous purple wings, rolling backward and carving deep trenches in the earth, kicking up huge clouds of dust.

The sheer scale of the battle left Jiang Zheyu stunned.

The sight of both the colossal Zerg and the massive Mechas was enough to trigger a primal fear of giant things.

Su Yan placed Jiang Zheyu at the entrance of the Research Institute and whispered, "Don’t wander off. I’m going to kill that Zerg."

Jiang Zheyu, stunned for a moment, snapped out of it. She looked over at the Zerg still entangled with the other Mechas and quickly nodded. "Okay."

The Hongying Mecha’s giant finger gently patted Jiang Zheyu’s head.

Jiang Zheyu’s heart skipped a beat. Looking at the red eyes of the Hongying Mecha, she added loudly, "You be careful, too."

"I will." After his reply, Su Yan turned and shot toward the Purple-winged Zerg.

In a flash of red light, the Hongying Mecha charged forward, grabbed the Purple-winged Zerg by a wing, and slammed it viciously into the ground, raising a massive cloud of dust.

The Hongying Mecha’s fist plunged from midair toward the grounded Purple-winged Zerg.

The Purple-winged Zerg tried to take flight, but the Hongying Mecha’s fist was already smashing one of its wings into the ground. In an instant, the Zerg abandoned the appendage and flew away awkwardly on its remaining wing.

The severed wing it had abandoned was hammered deep into the ground by the Hongying Mecha’s fist, shattering into countless pieces.

Even with only one wing, the Purple-winged Zerg could still fly with incredible speed.

And it was heading straight for Jiang Zheyu!

Jiang Zheyu watched the enormous Zerg bear down on her like a collapsing mountain, its giant maws drooling. It was disgusting and grotesque.

She couldn’t react in time. She had no experience fighting the Zerg, and now, faced with such overwhelming pressure and the looming specter of death, her mind shut down again. She even forgot that she was a female with 5S-grade spiritual power, more than capable of ripping this Zerg to shreds.

Her power and her mindset were not yet in sync.

’This is what happens when you’ve been coasting for too long.’

The Zerg’s maw neared her face. She saw the blood inside it, the ghastly, sharp white teeth. Her heart raced, and her blood ran cold.

’Move, you stupid legs! Move!’

But when terrified, the body freezes.

A fierce wind swept past as a violent tremor shook the ground. The Purple-winged Zerg before her was abruptly seized by the hand of a black Mecha, halting its advance completely. The next second, right before Jiang Zheyu’s eyes, the enormous creature was torn in half!

A spray of the giant Zerg’s blood exploded outward, drenching Jiang Zheyu as if a bucket of gore had been dumped over her.

The massive, sleek black Mecha before her had just torn the Zerg apart with its bare hands!

The bloody stench of the Purple-winged Zerg’s various organs flooded her senses.

Overcome with nausea, Jiang Zheyu couldn’t stop herself from vomiting.

The black Mecha before her vanished. In its place stood a tall, slender man in a black military uniform. He had a buzz cut, and his features were sharp and profoundly handsome, exuding a dangerous charm that warned others not to cross him. The short hair, far from being unflattering, only served to accentuate the sharp, chiseled lines of his face. His deep purple eyes were like a vast, dense sea of violets, suffused with a danger that could drown a person.

An aura of slaughter and violence clung to him. He looked thoroughly rebellious and defiant, practically radiating aggression.
