Facing that pair of frigid, ink-black eyes, Jiang Zheyu’s voice slowly trailed off. Her pale lips moved, but in the end, she said nothing.

She’d done more than enough just by buying him out of the Night Club.

Mo Chuan stared at the girl before him. Her face was still covered in that hideous makeup. It looked like she had been crying; tears had left winding trails through the cosmetics.

Under the stark white light, the skin showing through was as fair as jade, and her figure was delicate, small, and pitiful.

She squatted in the distance, her white dress filthy. The garish red marks on her slender arms ruined the overall aesthetic, yet they held a strange, vivid beauty of their own.

Mo Chuan recalled the sight of the girl getting into the fighting ring for his sake and the pathetic way she looked when slammed to the ground. A flicker of irritation made his ink-black eyes turn even colder.

’Since she’s the one who wants this, it’s not like I’m the one losing out.’

With a single motion, Mo Chuan ripped to shreds the clothes that were already little more than tattered rags.

Jiang Zheyu glanced down at the Light Brain on her wrist, about to check the time. ’Do I have time to find and buy another Beast Slave?’ she wondered. ’Preferably a Cat Beastman or a Rabbit Beastman. One of those cute Male Beastmen wouldn’t be scary, and I could still complete my daily purification goal.’

Suddenly, the sound of fabric ripping violently, followed by the harsh rattle of iron chains, erupted from the cage beside her.

She jumped in fright, thinking the Wolf Boy was about to attack. She tried to scramble to her feet and run, but her legs had gone numb from squatting. Instead of getting up, she stumbled and fell, landing hard on the floor.

Her tea-colored eyes flew wide with terror as she stared at the cage. She didn’t see the savage expression she’d expected from the Wolf Boy, but what she saw was nearly as frightening. A deep scar ran across his left cheek, several cigarette burns marred the bone of his brow, and his ink-black eyes were so dark it looked as if they could devour a person whole.

All of his clothes were gone!

Before, the important parts had at least been partially covered. Now, everything was completely exposed to her view.

Caught completely off guard by the sight, Jiang Zheyu felt a prickle of shock, as if she were about to get a stye. What horrified her wasn’t just its size, but the wounds there as well.

’Oh god, what kind of torture did the Wolf Boy go through in that place?’

’Even if the Wolf Boy completely succumbed to Beastification, she felt it would be entirely justified!’ 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Jiang Zheyu froze completely, her mind stalling.

’What is he saying? Is that even a human language? Why can’t I understand him?’

Seeing her frozen in fear, Mo Chuan assumed she was afraid he would hurt her.

’But he was still bound by chains. If he tried to harm her, she could just give the command and have these very chains strangle him to death. She had nothing to fear from him.’

As if finally snapping out of her daze, Jiang Zheyu numbly grabbed her pink tracksuit from the sofa and threw it at him. "Just put your hand out," she said, her face expressionless.

Mo Chuan had no idea what she was up to. ’Is she actually going to perform Spiritual Comfort on me with her Spiritual Touch Silk?’

’He didn’t believe it for a second. Still, after all the torment he’d endured at the Night Club, what was one more trick? He’d let her do whatever she wanted.’

A single wolf paw extended carelessly from the cage.

Jiang Zheyu shuffled forward, slow and hesitant, like a timid animal cautiously probing for danger.

"Can you turn it back into a hand?" she asked, growing a little bolder, perhaps due to the Wolf Boy’s cooperation.

The filthy, ugly wolf paw seemed to twitch, but a closer look revealed it hadn’t moved at all.

"Can’t..." The Wolf Boy’s voice was just as strained, hoarse, and unpleasant as before.

’He couldn’t turn his claws back into hands anymore. He couldn’t even retract his tail and ears...’

Jiang Zheyu fell silent, assuming the Wolf Boy was simply refusing.

’Although that wolf paw looked like it might lash out and tear into her at any second.’

’But her arm was already so injured... what was a little more? Anyway, she had to get this task done.’

A deep, crimson gash scarred the wolf’s face. Its fur was patchy, bald in some spots and blood-red in others. The pure black coat was matted, filthy, and ugly.

But even so, the moment Jiang Zheyu entered, the black wolf—taller than a multi-story building—snapped open its sharp, ink-black eyes and fixed its gaze upon her.

Jiang Zheyu ignored the black wolf and threw herself at the black miasma, beginning to purify it.

One wisp, two, three, four, five, six, seven...

Jiang Zheyu was delighted to find that she had managed to Purify a little more of the Beastification Value than she had the day before.

The black wolf nearby seemed to realize she was there to help. It moved its massive head closer and nuzzled against Jiang Zheyu’s Spiritual Touch Silk.

Jiang Zheyu wasn’t particularly afraid of wolves, and she had an unavoidable soft spot for fluffy animals. Still, the sensation of the coarse wolf fur rubbing against her wasn’t exactly pleasant.

’But seeing the countless wounds on the black wolf’s body,’ she thought, ’who knows what kind of torture he suffered at the Night Club to make his fur so coarse.’

Her Spiritual Touch Silk gently stroked the black wolf’s head before moving slowly to the deep scar on its face.

’Since my spiritual power can Purify Beastification Value, it should be able to heal an injured spiritual body, too.’

But after using her spiritual power for that gentle touch, she felt it drain to its absolute limit, and she quickly stopped.

The black wolf nuzzled her with its head again.

’For the first time, Jiang Zheyu felt that Purifying Beastification Value wasn’t so bad after all.’

She reached out with her Spiritual Touch Silk and stroked the wolf’s head one more time.

She quickly withdrew from his Spiritual Domain.

The moment she opened her eyes, she met a pair of ink-black, unreadable eyes.
