He smelled a familiar scent—the scent that belonged to Yu Yu.

Su Yan slowly reached out and embraced Jiang Zheyu. Feeling her familiar warmth, he held her even tighter.

The heavy scent of lizard and butterfly on Yu Yu made Su Yan’s heart sink. ’What happened to my Yu Yu while she was away?’

Su Yan found his voice was raspy and raw; for a moment, he couldn’t make a sound.

"A Yuan, let me heal your spiritual power," Jiang Zheyu said, sitting on the bed.

Su Yan grabbed her hand, his red irises turning the color of blood. "I’m sorry. I failed to protect you."

Jiang Zheyu paused, then quickly said, "A Yuan, I was captured, but I wasn’t in any danger. In fact, I even took that Star Thief for a ride. I’m not hurt, and I wasn’t punished at all, so you don’t need to blame yourself. Look, I escaped, didn’t I?"
