Sato needed to find out if what Ashley meant was that she’s willing to let him stay. Was she considering letting him go? He cleared his throat, about to ask about it, when Mrs. Garcia intervened.

"So, what do you think of the gown? Do you like it?" Asked Mrs. Garcia as she approached the two of them. Ashley was mesmerized by the beautiful gown in front of her. She was waiting for Sato to hand it to her, but he kept the gown in the air, holding it up.

She answered Mrs. Garcia’s question, "Yes! I find it gorgeous. I have many beautiful gowns made by famous designers from Japan, but this one stands out the most," she said as her eyes shined brightly, and her attention all on the spectacularly made gown.

Mrs. Garcia pulled down Sato’s hand and took the gown from him.

"Why were you holding your hand up in the air? You’re supposed to give it to Ashley so she could try it on, Sato," she said as she handed the gown to Ashley.

"My bad. I was so excited. I must’ve forgotten," he said as he turned to face Ashley’s direction. Ashley was long gone. She had run to her room just to change into the gown.

"Where did she go?" Sato was lost. One moment, his boss was praising him; the next, she was out of sight and nowhere to be seen.

Mrs. Garcia laughed heartily.

"She must’ve loved your design so much she couldn’t wait to try it on. By the way, did you get the chance to ask her if she wants to be one of the models in the fashion show?" She asked.

Sato shook his head.

"Oh, no! I completely forgot! I was about to, but that was when you showed up and took the gown. I was going to use it as leverage for her to agree, but now it’s already in her hands," he said sheepishly.

Mrs. Garcia patted Sato on the shoulder.

"Don’t worry, my protege. If she doesn’t want to, I have many beautiful models that would do that outfit justice. I’ll just have to pick one with similar body measurements as her, so it’ll look just as good. But we’ll have to wait and see what she says, alright?" Assured Mrs. Garcia, who wanted anything but to worry Sato before the fashion show.

A couple of minutes later, Ashley exited the room. She looked stunning. She had arranged her long hair on her right side and had worn a pair of dangling diamond earrings. She wore heels that matched, and she looked breathtakingly beautiful.

Both Mrs. Garcia and Sato’s eyes widened as soon as Ashley approached them. She looked at them seriously, trying her best to walk like a model.

Sadly, she might need much more practice and has a long way to go before she can even consider herself as a big-shot model.

Sato quickly pulled out his cellphone, beginning to take pictures of Ashley as she came closer.

He took multiple pictures in different directions, yelling orders for her to follow.

"Stop moving! That’s it, just like that," he said as he took multiple pictures.

Ashley was about to take another step before halting and almost tripped.

Mrs. Garcia quickly ran over to help her. "Be careful; we wouldn’t want you falling down or anything," she said as her attention turned to Sato.

"Sato, you shouldn’t have startled Ashley either," she said, watching Sato nod.

Since Mrs. Garcia was right beside her, Ashley decided to tell Sato to take a picture of the two of them. She wanted to send it to everyone in Houston as a small souvenir.

"Hey, Sato, could you take a picture of us together?" She asked, who was already trying to find the perfect angle to take the picture from.

After about multiple shots and trying to find the perfect image, Sato had finally taken the perfect photo. He showed the two all the pictures he had really taken, and Ashley’s reaction was priceless.

"Whoa. I look amazing. Is that really me?" Asked Ashley, grinning from ear to ear.

Mrs. Garcia patted her on her back. "Of course, it’s you. You look amazing in each and every one of these pictures," she praised.

"Thank you! Mrs. Garcia, you’re the expert, after all. If you say it, then it must be true," she said as she hugged the older woman.

Sato had to intervene, wanting to show the next item he had created. Once Ashley saw it, she immediately knew who it was for. Her very own mother.

"This is beautiful! Did you make this for my mother?" She asked while checking out the gorgeous gown.

"Yes, I did, Mrs. Jones!" Sato proudly replied, his face beaming with happiness.

As a thank you, Ashley pulled her current assistant into a tight embrace.

"Thank you so much! Your talent would be a shame if it went wasted. When everything’s done, you can stay with Mrs. Garcia if she willingly wants to take you under her wing. Then, I can release you. How does that sound, Sato?" She offered.

When Sato heard Ashley’s offer, tears began to flow down his face.

He bowed deeply, trying to hide his stream of tears and sniffles. This was a dream come true.

"Thank you! Thank you so much, Mrs. Jones," He said repeatedly.

It was now settled. Mrs. Garcia would no doubt accept Sato; he would be Mrs. Garcia’s protege. Then it was agreed. Sato would be Mrs. Garcia’s protege while Tanaga underwent his treatment.

Sato was so happy that he ran to the kitchen to tell Chef Sander the excellent news.

When he arrived in the kitchen, Chef Sander was busy preparing dinner. When he saw Sato enter, he asked his assistant to leave the kitchen for a while.

As soon as his assistant left, he turned to Sato.

"Tell me, why the big grin on your handsome face?" asked Chef Sanders teasingly.

Sato looked around first to see if anyone was around. When he saw that they were the only people in the room, he pulled Chef Sander into a loving embrace.

"When this treatment is finally over, I’ll be able to stay here and train under Mrs. Garcia! This means we can be together!" Sato cried happily.

Chef Sander, who was bursting with happiness, completely forgot they were still in Mrs. Garcia’s kitchen. Instead, he lifted Sato’s face before kissing him lovingly.

Unbeknownst to them, Mrs. Garcia and Ashley witnessed the whole thing. The two exchanged a look, smiling as they turned around and returned to the parlor.

During the next few days, Sato and Mrs. Garcia were busy with the upcoming fashion show. Ashley would occasionally go with them to the studio for a couple of hours, and Mrs. Garcia taught her the proper etiquette of a model and how to walk the runway.

She had agreed that she would join and model Sato’s creation in the fashion show. Ashley would be walking the runway behind one of the models for Mrs. Garcia’s design, and the model would be arriving here the day before the show.

Ashley was excited yet nervous at the same time. Mrs. Garcia had previously told her that the model coming was a Filipina and that she was a professional. Even though she was younger than most others, she had a talent that most other models didn’t have. Ashley simply couldn’t wait to meet the girl.

Meanwhile, back in Dr. Garcia’s clinic, Tanaga was sound asleep. He’d been out for the last couple of days since Dr. Garcia had also injected him with a sleeping serum so his brain could rest while the serum would work in diminishing the clog on his brain.

In the last couple of days, Dr. Garcia and Dr. Green would alternate, watching and studying Tanaga 24/7 as a precaution in case something happened while one of the two were sleeping.

Their daily checks were acceptable. It was promising, even though it only had been less than a week. The clog that previously was blocking the blood flow in Tanaga’s brain wasn’t as large as before. It was slowly decreasing in size and diminishing, which was significant progress.

"This is a good sign if this continues in other trials. In less than a month, all the blood clot that was previously clogging on his brain would be gone, for good," said Dr. Garcia while they observed the results of the CT scan on the screen.

Dr. Green was delighted to have the opportunity to get to work with a genius like Dr. Garcia. If this worked out, they’d have enough funds to build a new laboratory building under the THJ Group. That’d be a dream come true for him, and it was all thanks to Dr. Garcia.

Speaking of Dr. Garcia, he was creepily smiling. If everything worked out to his plan, he’d get enough funds to create a serum for Mrs. Garcia. One that allowed him to no longer worry about her getting her memories back. She would never remember who she was again and would never be able to return to her real family.
