When Dr. Garcia saw how petrified Tanaga was, he decided to give in and let him speak with his wife ’one last time’ before they continued with the clinical trial.

"Dr. Green, why don’t you and the nurse both take a few minutes off while I go and fetch Mrs. Jones," suggested Dr. Garcia as he placed the syringe down on the medical tray beside Tanaga’s bed.

Dr. Green nodded, ushering the nurse out of the room and leaving right away. Dr. Garcia exited the room, looking for Ashley. He found her in the garden, chatting with Sato and Mrs. Garcia. He was tempted to eavesdrop on the conversation, but he was too far away to listen in.

The trio was startled when they heard him clear his throat.

"Ahem. Excuse me, Mrs. Jones, your husband requested to have a word with you before we induce the serum into his body. You have a few minutes with him, but you have to return here when you’re done," he said as he sat next to his wife.

Ashley, hearing that Tanaga was looking for her, quickly got up to visit her husband. She wondered what he wanted to tell her, and didn’t pay attention to what Dr. Garcia had said earlier about her returning once she and Tanaga finished talking. When she got to the clinic, Tanaga was on the bed, lying down.

"You asked for me?" She asked as she approached him, and sat beside him on the bed.

When Tanaga heard her, he blithely tried to sit up but was stopped by all the contraptions hooked up to his body, making it harder for him to do so.

In frustration, he laid back down on the bed, pulling his wife towards him and embracing her tightly.

"You know I love you, right? Don’t you ever forget that? No matter what happens while I’m doing this treatment, remember that I’m doing it for you and our children," he whispered in her ears.

Ashley’s heartbeat was racing a hundred miles per hour immediately after hearing what Tanaga had whispered.

She felt that a premonition of imminent danger was about to occur. She didn’t want to alert him and make him change his mind or stress at the last minute. This was for his own good, and since they already knew its risks beforehand, they had to go through with it.

She hugged him tighter before separating from the hug. She looked at him straight in the eye before comforting him.

"Sweetheart, nothing will go wrong. Don’t say that. You’re my knight in shining armor, and you’re strong. We’ll get through this together," she started.

She continued, "No matter what happens, it’s all planned out for us by God. Just like how I met you in this life and became the mother of your children and now love you more than life itself. Relax Tan, sooner enough, you’ll be cured, and we can live our happily ever after together afterward."

She smiled, then kissing him on his lips fervently.

Hearing Ashley’s words, that’s all he needed. He found the courage he needed, and a broad grin was now plastered on his handsome face.

"I’m ready, you can go and tell Dr. Garcia and Dr, Green that," he said, his wide grin still on his face, remaining unchanged.

When Ashley saw that Tanaga felt much better, she swiftly made her way back to the garden to inform Dr. Garcia.

When she arrived at the garden, there was no one there. She decided to enter the house to check if they were in the parlor, but there was no one there either and she was extremely confused.

"Where could they be? Where’s everyone else?" She mumbled to herself as she continued to look for everyone.

On the way to the dining room, she ran into Dr. Garcia, Dr. Green, and the nurse who was on their way to the clinic.

If looks could kill, Dr. Garcia and Dr. Green would’ve been dead by now. One thing she hated the most was when someone told her they’d do something but instead do something else. She decided to not do anything about it and suppress her rage when they stopped in front of her.

"Is Mr. Jones ready?" Asked Dr. Garcia nonchalantly.

"Yes, he’s ready now. I was looking all over for you. Did something happen? You weren’t in the garden," she asked, demanding an explanation.

"Apologies, we had decided to have a little snack while waiting. And I wanted to inform you that once I inject the serum into Mr. Jones, he might fall asleep right away, and when he wakes up, it’s unknown. The serum might last a couple of hours or a couple of days at most. I suggest you be prepared, and don’t panic if anything happens," Dr. Garcia warned.

Ashley nodded.

"I understand, we already discussed this prior to agreeing to do this experiment. All I can do is hope for the best. As you know, I don’t want to lose my husband. I’m begging you to take care of him," she said, trying to stop the tears that were already gathering.

Dr. Garcia could see how much Ashley truly loved her husband. How he wished Mrs. Garcia felt the same way for him. If she didn’t, he’d have to suppress her memory, as he feared she might remember who she is, and return to her old lover.

"Yes, Mrs. Jones, I will do everything in my power to cure Mr. Jones. Rest assured, he is in good hands," assured Dr. Garcia before he bid Ashley goodbye and left to return to the clinic where Tanaga was already waiting for him.

Ashley went to look for Mrs. Garcia and Sato, she suddenly remembered she had forgotten her phone in her room, so she returned to get it. She met the two while she made her way to her room, and she noticed Sato carrying a couple of bags with him.

"What’s with the bag? Did you guys go shopping and didn’t invite me?" Ashley asked, pouting as they approached her.

Sato had a big sly smile on his face as he answered his boss’ question.

"No, of course not! I have a surprise for you. One I think you’d like. Just wait until you see what’s in this bag," he said as he shook the bag proudly.

Mrs. Garcia smiled as she squeezed Ashley’s shoulder.

"I have to go to my office for a while. I have some things to finalize before the upcoming fashion show this weekend, so please excuse me," she said as she continued on towards her home office.

Ashley’s eyes widened when she heard what Mrs. Garcia just said. She pulled Sato toward the parlor to interrogate him and ask him more.

"Mrs. Jones, why did you do that? I’d come willingly. So, what’s up?" He asked.

"What fashion show is she talking about? What did I miss while I was in Houston? Tell me all about it!" She asked. She had never watched a fashion show live and if Mrs. Garcia was holding one, she wanted to be there to support her.

Sato had a wide grin on his face as he placed the bags down on the coffee table. Ashley sat down on the sofa, waiting in anticipation.

"Well, you’re about to see my very first creation and it’s designed specifically for you. Wait until you see this dress. I personally designed it, and in my opinion, it’s beautiful and perfectly suits your body," he said, boasting proudly about his creation, excited to see Ashley’s reaction when she tried the dress on.

He slowly pulled a long gown out of one of the bags. It was an off-the-shoulder long-sleeved metallic gown embroidered with lace and had a front slit. It was blue and a bright white at its front, its collar low enough to show just enough cleavage.

It took a few seconds for Ashley to react. She was stunned. This was his very first dress, and it was beautiful. She was dumbfounded, not to mention speechless. She covered her mouth with her hand in disbelief and shock.

"So? What do you think? Do you like it?" Sato asked excitedly. He couldn’t wait for Ashley to wear it. He knew it’d fit her perfectly, and if she was to model it, it’d show off all her assets, not to mention her ’real estate’.

She finally found her voice and rejoiced over her assistant’s creation.

"OH. MY. GOD! IT’S AMAZING!" Ashley exclaimed before pulling Sato in the tightest embrace.

"I’m so proud of you! Your talent in a fashion almost is unmatched. No wonder you wanted to meet my grandmother’s designer back in Japan. If you stick around Mrs. Garcia long enough, you’d be just as talented as her," Ashley said excitedly.

Sato froze. He couldn’t believe what he heard. If he stuck around long enough with Mrs. Garcia, did that mean Ashley would let him stay here with her?
