I Summoned Demon and Angel in Cultivation World

Chapter 20: Jonathan, the Supreme Elder

Tyler followed the instructions and entered the cave. There was nothing blocking him, no one questioning him.

As he continued, he made his way to the interior of the cave. It looked nothing like a cave.

The entire section of the cave was carved into a large room with multiple pieces of furniture, a kitchen, and even a large bed.

This looked almost like his room, except it had a kitchen as well.

Tyler looked at the mattress on the ground where a middle-aged man wearing a golden robe was cultivating.

"Greetings, Supreme Elder!"

Tyler knelt to the ground. This time, he didn’t just bow. It was one thing with the Golden Core elder.

He couldn’t afford to give a simple bow to a Nascent Soul Cultivator.

"Hmm!"

Jonathan didn’t open his eyes as he hummed. After a long silence, Jonathan said.

"I forgot to ask. Would you like to be my personal student?"

"Yes!"

Without much hesitation, Tyler replied. He was still kneeling on the ground, sweating at Jonathan’s attitude.

"Then, you are up for trouble, my boy. Tsk! Tsk!"

Without even opening his eyes, Jonathan kept shaking his head.

Tyler didn’t raise his head, but he answered.

"I will accept all challenges, teacher. I will not ruin your reputation."

Suddenly, a ruler appeared on Jonathan’s hand. He used it to slap Tyler on the head.

"You idiot, why would I be afraid of my reputation? Do you really think we Nascent Soul Cultivators have nothing to do but listen to others’ gossip?"

Tyler frantically shook his head.

"No, no...."

"Then, do you think others have the guts to say anything bad about me in front of my face?"

Jonathan angrily answered.

Tyler started sweating. He realized it was true. Nobody had the guts to say anything bad about the Nascent Soul Cultivators in their face.

He was slapped by Jonathan in the head with the ruler once again as Jonathan spoke.

"Two otherworldly creatures have appeared in our world. You have Heavenly Spiritual Root."

"Normally, we don’t need to care about those beings, but if they target our country, you would be forced to fight them."

"Why, you ask? Because you are my student, not just because you have a great talent."

"Fighting creatures beyond your comprehension will be your daily job. Do you think you can handle them with your strength?"

Tyler couldn’t help but feel touched by his teacher’s concern.

As the student of a Nascent Soul Cultivator, he was indeed bound to face those threats. So, his teacher was concerned about this?

"Teacher, I may be weak now, but I will grow strong enough to face any challenges. Truthfully speaking, I became your student to receive resources for cultivation."

Jonathan sneered.

"Isn’t that the same with everything? Do you think a Golden Core Cultivator would go to receive you for no benefits?"

"Do you know how a sect earns money? It’s by completing missions, selling their specialties, and fighting for resources."

"Missions contribute to seventy percent of our total income. You, the holder of Heavenly Spiritual Root, joining the sect will give our sect a huge boost."

"This will make more younglings join our sect. Once they join the sect, they must earn contribution points for everything."

"To earn contribution points, they must complete missions. The sect will take thirty percent from each mission."

"The total number of students joining the sect could go up to ten thousand every five years, but with your influence, it could go as far as twenty thousand."

"So, by inviting you early, Sean has doubled the number of students joining the sect, thus making a huge contribution to the sect."

"By making these contributions, Sean could one day become the Sect Leader, not because he is a vice leader but because he has done enough for the sect."

"So, do not presume you are being greedy. Every cultivator is greedy for something. I am greedy for talent."

"I want our sect to produce one Spiritual Transformation Realm cultivator. Do you think this is possible?"

Tyler took a deep breath and said.

"Yes!"

Only then did Jonathan open his eyes, and his mocking voice changed into boisterous laughter.

"Hahaha! That’s the confidence I need from my student. I am not old enough to consider passing down my legacy."

"I just want a student to surpass me. Tyler Kent, raise your head!"

Tyler followed his command without any hesitation.

"From today, you are my student, the personal student of a Nascent Soul Cultivator."

"Your current status will be the same as the Core Students and Inner Core Elders."

"That means you will earn five thousand contribution points each month for free. Do not assume this will be enough for your cultivation."

"Everything in this sect costs contribution points, from food to challenging the Dawn Tower."

"You can exchange your contribution points for spirit stones for the transactions outside the sect."

Hearing that, Tyler’s eyes shrank rapidly.

He knew about these stones. They were incredibly rare resources for the cultivators in his town.

Last year, his sister gave a few hundred of those stones to his father, asking him to use them for cultivation.

"It seems like you know about spirit stones. They are stones carved from special ores condensed with spiritual energy."

"A single stone could contain energy enough to fill a Ninth Stage Qi Refiner’s Dantian if refined into Qi."

"If you wish to buy a Spirit Stone, you need to spend a hundred silver or ten contribution points."

Hearing that, Tyler’s eyes turned weird for a moment.

Because that’s exactly the amount required to buy a single Spirit Coin in his system.

He didn’t think he could use contribution points for Spirit Coins. They sounded very much like a digital currency.

"With your status, you can also enter the third floor of the Library and get a technique and two spells from there for free."

"Remember, they are not your average spells. They are Third Tier Spells, enough for you to reach the Golden Core Realm."

"Of course, there is also the fact that you can use contribution points to buy spells from there."

"Of course, I will refrain you from wasting your contribution points on those things. If you specifically need a spell, you can just ask me."

"The sect will not provide you with anything else, but I have something for you."

He took out a strange plate from his spatial ring and threw it at Tyler.

Tyler quickly caught it, but he didn’t recognize it.

"That’s a Five Elements Absorption Disk. It was created in ancient times, which was why I found it in one of the ruins."

"By infusing your blood with this disk, you can pull it inside your Dantian and use it to constantly strengthen your Five Elements Vortices."

"So that even with your spiritual roots when you proceed towards the Foundation Establishment Realm, you will be able to form two foundations."

Hearing that, Tyler’s eyes widened in shock.

Indeed! He was planning on forming two foundations, but he also knew this would be extremely difficult.

He thought of relying on his system, never expecting his teacher would solve this problem for him.

Looking at his expression, Jonathan chuckled.

"You do have to understand one thing. Even with that disk, your Five Elements Foundation will only be a Common-Tier."

"On the other hand, your Light Foundation will be at least Earth-Tier or even Heavenly-Tier if your comprehension is good enough."

Hearing that, Tyler excitedly asked.

"Teacher, how do I enter the Foundation Establishment Realm?"

Jonathan shook his head.

"Let’s wait until you reach the Ninth Stage of the Qi Refining Realm. Then, I will tell you."

Tyler had no choice but to suppress his curiosity.

Jonathan asked.

"What Dao do you plan to follow? Dao of Light will be best for you. In that case, I might not have a perfect weapon for you."

Hearing that, Tyler shook his head.

"Teacher, forgive the student’s overconfidence, but I want to follow Dao of Sword."

Jonathan raised his eyebrows and asked.

"Oh? Speaking with such a confident tone, you must have a reason."

Tyler nodded.

"Teacher, I don’t know why I have this feeling, but I believe there is no end to the Path of Sword."

"If there is something that I can’t cut, it only means my swordsmanship is not strong enough. This is why I want to become a swordsman."

Although Tyler thought he had said cool words, he never expected to see a dumbfounded expression on his teacher’s face.

For a moment, Jonathan didn’t recover from his words until eventually, his gaze towards Tyler showed some admiration.

"I understand now, Tyler. You are born to be a swordsman. This is extraordinary."

"Although I can’t see your talent for swordsmanship, you were able to comprehend such a profound meaning of swordsmanship without becoming one."

Hearing his teacher’s praise, Tyler shyly lowered his head.

He thought he was just giving a cool speech; he never thought it would be regarded as comprehension.

"Good lad! I am not a swordsman, so I can’t teach you much, but I have something for you."
