I Summoned Demon and Angel in Cultivation World

Chapter 14: Problem of a Cultivation Family

Tyler returned to the town. He took the shortcut to his mansion, where he didn’t draw a lot of attention.

But few people still recognized him because he wasn’t running fast. With his bones broken and Qi exhausted, he couldn’t run like before.

"That’s the Young Master of the Kent Family, right? Why is he so injured?"

"Oh my god! Even his Qi seems exhausted. Did he fight a Beast in the forest?"

"It seems like it."

A middle-aged man quickly rushed next to Tyler and asked.

"Young Master, would you like me to take you home?"

Tyler paused and shook his head.

"No, I can walk. It’s normal for a cultivator to be injured."

Hearing that, the middle-aged man quickly nodded. He also agreed with that idea. It’s just that helping Tyler would make Tyler remember him.

That could be helpful in the future. After all, Tyler was the man with the Heavenly Spiritual Root.

Although it took him some time, Tyler still reached his home. The middle-aged man followed him, telling him he could help in case of an emergency.

Although Tyler knew his real intentions, he didn’t reject him.

"What happened to you? How did you get so injured? Didn’t your dad assign you those guards? Why didn’t you take them with you?"

As soon as he entered through the gates, he was bombarded by his mother’s questions.

Before he even reached his house, the news about the injuries had already spread to his mansion.

It caused so much shock that even his aunts came to receive him.

"I was training, Mom. I couldn’t take anyone with me. But I did make the mistake of not taking any healing paste with me."

Then, he turned around and said.

"Charlie, thank you for your help!"

"No, no, no, I didn’t do anything. I should take my leave."

The middle-aged man couldn’t help but feel flustered when everyone’s attention turned towards him.

He did nothing, so he didn’t have the shamelessness to ask for anything. He quickly bid farewell and left.

Tyler simply nodded. If this guy were in poverty, he wouldn’t mind giving him a few silver coins.

But this man was simply thinking of his future, especially since those with Heavenly Spiritual Root were bound to achieve great things.

In this world, a single powerful person could make others work for him even if they didn’t like it.

"Who did you fight?"

One of his aunts curiously asked.

"It was a Late-Stage Beast. Mom, I need Healing Paste."

Tyler grinned, but the pain was showing in his expression as well.

"You broke fifty bones, arms and back."

Another aunt examined his situation as they walked into his room.

"Tyler, you mustn’t take a risk like this again. You are the only hope of the family to surpass the Nascent Soul Realm."

"Do you understand how reckless your decision was? You might think we are being prudent here, but you must understand your importance."

"You are the only person born in the history of the Kent Family with the Heavenly Spiritual Root."

Another of his aunts sternly pointed her finger and started teaching him.

During this time, his mother was taking off his t-shirt and applying the healing paste to his skin.

"Hiss! Argh!"

Tyler kept hissing in pain while hearing his aunts’ words.

"Jessica is right, Tyler! Your grandfather had Earth Rank Spiritual Root, but he died before even reaching Nascent Soul Realm."

"With Heavenly Spiritual Root, reaching the Nascent Soul Realm should be easy for you. You mustn’t take risks like this."

His mother softly spoke. Although she knew this wasn’t what her son wanted, she also had to think of the family.

"Maya is right. You took too much risk this time. How can you send away the guards I’ve prepared for you?"

A hoarse voice rang as his father walked in.

"Head!"

His aunts immediately greeted him.

"Alright, you should leave. I need to talk to him."

Tom nodded and spoke.

Without much hesitation, his aunts left the room.

"Alright, what’s your cultivation?"

Tom asked as he walked closer.

"Fifth Stage! Didn’t you know this before?"

"I didn’t know you had improved in just a week. So, what kind of enemy did you face? From your situation, it looks like a brutal fight."

"It was a Late Stage Beast. I used my special spell to boost my strength and fought until my Qi ran out."

Tyler replied.

After a moment, Miya removed her hand and said.

"Alright! I have rubbed Healing Paste on your wounds. Within half an hour, your body will start its recovery."

"Thanks, Mom!"

Tyler smirked as he remained in the same position.

"While you were risking your life, an honorable guest arrived in our house. Your uncles are receiving him."

"Once your injuries recover, come to the Main Hall!"

Saying so, Tom turned around and left.

"Mom, do you know who that is?"

Tyler curiously asked.

"I don’t know his exact identity, but he came from the Golden Dawn Sect. It seems like your Spiritual Root attracted their attention ahead of time."

Maya replied as she started looking through his cupboard.

"Mom, what are you looking for?"

"Any signs of a love letter!"

"I don’t have any."

"Huh? Didn’t you receive them this week? Your aunts told me many girls have been handing your cousins letters for you."

"Meow!"

Shiro suddenly made a noise that attracted their attention. They saw him pointing his paw towards the table, which was full of letters.

"Wow! You are not even hiding them."

Maya gleefully smiled and rushed towards the table.

"Mom! I didn’t even know they existed."

Tyler rolled his eyes before closing them.

"Tsk! Tsk! Forty-six letters- let me see how many of them come from the same person!"

"Wow! Only six letters have the same name. You got love letters from forty-one girls, son. Who do you plan to respond to?"

"Huh? Isn’t this Torimiya? Did she also write a letter? Wow! This girl can write. I never thought she had a crush on you for eight years."

"Mom!"

Tyler could no longer bear her teasing tone, making him scream with a red face.

"Seriously, that girl used to play with you all the time, but she never showed any love interest. I thought she only treated you like a friend."

Maya didn’t care about his embarrassment. She kept reading those letters in a joyful tone.

Some of those letters were embarrassing to even hear. Except for three letters, Maya tore apart every other letter.

"Tsk! Tsk! Jessie and Amy have also written you love letters. It must have been Jessica and Annie’s ideas."

Hearing those names, Tyler’s pupils shrank rapidly.

"Wait a minute, aren’t they my cousins? Why are they writing love letters?"

From what he knew, Tyler didn’t think incest was normal in this world. Even if his uncles and father came from different mothers.

When he expected his mother to be angry, he was stunned to see a casual look.

But his mother caught his stunned expression and calmly explained.

"Tyler, you must understand our family’s situation. Nobody in the family has ever awakened Heavenly Spiritual Root."

"After your grandfather, none of his children even awakened a Spirit Rank Spiritual Root."

"We, cultivators, value bloodline more than anything else. Although it sounds wrong, even if you don’t marry your cousins, you must’ve children with them."

"If your sister had awakened Earth Rank Spiritual Root, we would’ve married her to Adam or Rocky’s son."

"Besides, you can marry any girl you like. You just have to make sure you have children with your cousins."

Hearing her words. Tyler was speechless while Shiro was listening with a bright smirk on his face.

Eventually, Tyler snapped out of his shock and asked.

"Isn’t this wrong?"

Maya shook her head.

"This is normal in cultivation families, son. You must understand something. Your uncles have as much right and responsibility as your father."

"If you marry women from outside, the family will expand. That’s for sure, but who will keep the core positions in the family?"

"Even if you maintain fair justice, it will slowly corrode with the rise of the family. Only your children will receive more benefits."

"Only your wives will receive more power. Once your children marry, their wives will receive even more power."

"Until no official position or even power is left in the hands of your uncle’s descendant. Do you think this is right?"

Tyler couldn’t help but feel speechless.

"No, but isn’t it too extreme?"

Maya shook her head.

"Not so much, Tyler! You think your aunts are so worried about you because of love? No, they clearly told you it is all about family."

"That’s the truth. There is talent, and there is potential. Your children can or can not inherit talent, but your children will always have potential."

"Why do you think all of your uncles have at least one daughter? They just want to make sure their grandchildren have more potential than they do."
