[Purple Gold Qi Technique]
Sitting on a mattress, a young man closed his eyes, meditating and chanting different verses as the energy from the surroundings entered his body.
The human body has wondrous powers.
Humanity had survived for fifty thousand years, and through their efforts and curiosity, they developed a method for immortality.
It was known as Cultivation to Immortality.
Humanity had essence, spirit, and body.
All three of them weren’t unique to humans, but humans learned to balance these things to improve themselves.
Qi Refining Realm!
The first realm of immortality. It contained the mysteries of human meridians and Dantian.
The spiritual energy absorbed from nature merges with their bodies, passing through different veins, eventually reaching certain meridians.
These meridians were a unique pathway system that could move the spiritual energy into the Dantian, as the Dantian wasn’t directly connected to the body.
It was an inter-dimensional space existing parallel to the navel point of the human body.
It was shaped like a small globe, but inside it had strange roots. The roots were connected to the Dantian itself, but a small portion of it was out.
There were a total of five roots, and each root was colored differently.
When the spiritual energy flowed through the meridians and entered the Dantian, it was all absorbed by the gold-colored root.
The other roots had colors red, blue, green, and brown, representing fire, water, wood, and earth, respectively.
The gold colored root represented the Gold Element, which was also known as the Metal Element.
Because it was small and absorbing alone, the amount of spiritual energy it absorbed was very little.
There were three vortices above the roots.
The spiritual root could refine the spiritual energy into Qi. Then, the cultivator could use that Qi to form a vortex.
At this moment, Tyler ran the cultivation technique to speed up the refining process. Even so, his comprehension of the technique was very low.
So, the process’s speed only increased by a small percentage.
During the process, a large amount of Qi remained in his meridians, which began straining them.
He quickly took out a blue pill from the bag and ate it.
The moment this pill entered his body, it began nurturing and improving the meridians strained by the spiritual energy.
This relieved him of the pressure, so he continued refining more Qi inside his Dantian.
But as time passed, he took more of that pill, as one pill could only last for half an hour.
Ultimately, he gritted his teeth and released all of the spiritual energy from his meridians, stopping his cultivation technique.
The Qi Vortex in his Dantian was barely ten percent complete.
Thud!
"Damn it!"
The young man smashed his fist on the ground, feeling angry and disappointed in himself.
"Why? Why is my talent so low? Why does it have to be like this?"
He roared.
The voice didn’t escape the room, but it did make him feel a little better. He sighed and stood up.
He walked out of the room and decided to just aimlessly walk around the building.
This building was a large mansion, containing dozens of rooms.
"Hello, Young Master!"
As soon as he reached the outside, he was greeted by one of the workers.
The young man didn’t reply. He just hopelessly walked away.
Seeing this, the worker sighed.
"I never thought the Lord’s son would have such a pitiful talent. Five Elemental Spiritual Root! That’s just downright bad."
"Shut up and do your work!"
Another worker passed by him and shouted.
The worker got flustered, panicking as he quickly started his job.
In the Hall of the Meeting Room;
There were several big chairs and people sitting on them. There were four chairs on each side and one chair opposite the door.
One of the chair was empty.
At this moment, one of the middle-aged men wearing a black dress stood up and said.
"Head, shouldn’t we talk about the upcoming recruitment of the Golden Dawn Sect? We clearly can’t send Young Master to this sect."
"It will destroy our reputation. We must select someone else this time."
Although it was clear that he had his own ideals, the man couldn’t just tell others outright that he wanted to send his son.
The Head of the Family understood the underlying meaning behind his words and expressionlessly replied.
"I understand! During the yearly competition in three months, the winner will get to use the family’s quota to enter the Golden Dawn Sect."
His words stunned that man, but he quickly smiled and nodded.
"Yes, Lord! That would be perfectly reasonable. But aren’t most of your children a bit too old to enter the sect?"
His words stung the other men, but one of them quickly spoke.
"Age does matter, but so does talent. My daughter is only seventeen, one year older than your son."
"Besides, she has already reached the Sixth Stage of the Qi Refining Realm. It is the perfect age to enter the sect."
"After all, the sect requirement only starts every ten years."
Hearing his words, the middle-aged man’s smile faltered. He wasn’t expecting these guys to push their children into the sect.
He was only asking for his son.
The Family Head sneered inwardly.
’Does this guy think everyone here is an idiot? They are just waiting for me to send my son to the sect.’
’The competition and bullying in the sect are fierce. If they send my son there, he will either be too weak, too cowardly, or even die.’
’But as the Family Head, I certainly can’t force my son to not enter that sect. Oh! Sixth Brother, you are just an idiot.’
At this moment, the other elders were also cursing this man. They were all a part of the same family.
The Head was the strongest, followed by the elders. They were all brothers from another mother.
Their father had three wives, so they ran the family together. Although there were small conflicts, they didn’t allow anyone to make those conflicts bigger.
That’s why they wanted his son to enter the sect, so that he could never come back or, even if he did, he couldn’t remain an elder.
This was the simplest and best way to take power over the family from the rightful heirs.
"Sixth Elder made the right call. My son Tyler awakened the Five Elemental Spiritual Root. Sending him to the Sect will be an insult."
"So, I highly encourage you to take this competition seriously."
The Family Head continued.
"Now, let’s talk about the recent attack on our fifth mine. Fourth Elder, I will leave it to you. We need to figure out the identity of the attacker and prepare for retaliation."
Hearing that, another middle-aged man with a fierce scar on his chin stood up and nodded.
"Alright, Head!"
"The production of our rice farms has decreased significantly. Does anyone know why this is happening?"
The Family Head asked.
"Head, our people’s comprehension of Cloud Watering Technique hasn’t been sufficient recently, especially with new cultivators joining this job."
Another elder stood up and replied.
———————
Tyler, the son of the family head, had already left the mansion.
On his way, he encountered his brothers and sisters, but they weren’t very keen at talking to him.
Because the family discouraged conflicts, they would rather just ignore him than talk to him.
After all, his talent was the lowest of all.
Even his current strength was thanks to his father pouring resources into him continuously.
Eventually, he reached the edge of the cliff, where he usually came to relieve his frustration.
Today was no different.
It took him nearly four years to reach the third stage of the Qi Refining Realm, and most of it was thanks to the resources.
For example, the pill he used while refining Qi. Since a long-term cultivation would strain his meridian, he had no choice but to use it.
The size of his Dantian was limited, so he couldn’t pull a lot of spiritual energy into the Dantian, especially with Qi already being there.
So, he had to keep the spiritual energy in his meridian, which would get tiring pretty quickly.
But if he couldn’t do that, he would’ve no choice but to release spiritual energy from his body, which would halt his cultivation.
Standing on the edge of the cliff, Tyler couldn’t help but wonder why he came to this world.
He was just living a normal life in his previous world. He didn’t even encounter an accident.
He went to sleep in his bed, and the next time, he woke up as a baby.
Since he had lived here for sixteen years, he had adapted to this world.
But four years ago, he felt most disappointed thanks to his talent.
With his spiritual root, he had no future in cultivation.
So, why did God even send him here?
"Why?"
Tyler looked at the dark clouds and roared, feeling angered by his lack of talent and his unfortunate arrival in this world.
But suddenly, those dark clouds collided, as if they heard his voice, and a bolt of lightning fell down on him.
Bang!
The lightning bolt struck him on the head.
