I Summoned Demon and Angel in Cultivation World

Chapter 19: Sect

Tyler’s eyes widened in surprise.

"So, does that mean people from powerful cultivation families can awaken their spiritual root much earlier?"

Sean nodded.

"Yes, indeed! They often use different resources to strengthen their bodies and meridians, which nurture the Dantian and Spiritual Root."

"Some can awaken as early as ten years old. This gives them five extra years for cultivation."

"Even if they didn’t possess much talent, they can still reach higher realms than others."

"That’s why these families often have a lot of cultivators of the Foundation Establishment Realm."

Thinking about it, Tyler realized this made a lot of sense. He still remembered his struggle to reach the fourth stage.

The strain on his meridians was so massive that even with pills, he could barely keep up.

Of course, that’s also because his pill wasn’t high-level.

"These families control a majority of those cities. They have the highest number of industries, and some families are even richer than sects."

"For example, Seiki Treasure House is controlled by the Seiki Family. They have wealth rivaling a country."

"You can find a branch of Seiki Treasure House in almost every city."

Hearing that, Tyler’s eyes widened.

"So, Seiki Treasure House is that big? I have gone to that place before. It contains all kinds of piles and weapons."

"By the way, I asked if they sell techniques and spells, but they only had First-Tier Techniques and spells."

Sean chuckled.

"Of course, most of the people who buy techniques and spells from Treasure House often do not have a lot of money."

"How much does a First-Tier Technique cost? Can you tell me?"

Sean wanted to continue, but he realized he didn’t know the cost of a First-Tier Technique.

Tyler understood the elder’s predicament and immediately replied.

"It costs a Thousand Silver!"

"Yes, thousand silver! It’s not easy to earn a thousand silver, but it’s not hard either. More importantly, do you know about the Basic Qi Absorption Technique?"

Sean asked.

Tyler nodded.

"It’s a free technique that can be found anywhere in the world and can be practiced by anyone."

Sean nodded and continued.

"Some people are born with special talent and physiques. Because of their unique constitutions, they can awaken their spiritual root earlier."

"If these people come from a poor family, they won’t be able to afford other techniques, but they have potential."

"To make sure their potential isn’t buried, cultivators across the world made the Basic Qi Absorption Technique free of charge."

"It can only be used for normal cultivation, but those with talent can easily reach a higher realm with this technique alone."

"As long as their cultivation rises, they can find jobs and earn money to buy higher-tier techniques and spells."

"In a small town like yours, they might not find a good job to earn a lot of money, so they must enter a proper city."

"That’s why cities are generally more populated, developed, and economically powerful than towns."

Hearing that, Tyler nodded. He knew a little bit about this. His town only had one big family, and that happened to be their family.

But this didn’t mean there was only one town in this country. In fact, there were thousands of towns.

Compared to cities, there were more towns.

Even if the cities were more famous, Tyler hardly remembered the name of any city.

He was living a happy life in his town, so why would he care about those cities?

"Elder Sean, which are the biggest cities in the country?" Tyler couldn’t contain his curiosity, so he continued asking.

Unfortunately, Sean was no longer in the mood to answer. He simply chuckled as their ride moved closer to a large valley.

"You would’ve to find that yourself. We’ve arrived."

He said as he took the cart towards the valley. It slowly descended near a mountain, where Sean and Tyler walked out.

Sean released his Qi towards the cart as it suddenly shrank into a small showpiece and entered his ring.

Tyler showed a surprised look.

Sean caught the look on his face and explained.

"Generally, we don’t store large items inside the spatial ring. That’s why artifacts are used by cultivators."

"Unlike normal items, they are infused with certain arrays that can change the size of the object without disrupting its functions."

Hearing that, Tyler nodded. He didn’t know much about the artifacts, but he did know weapons were divided into different tiers.

"Are weapons and artifacts the same?"

He curiously asked while following Sean.

Sean shook his head and explained.

"Artifacts are tools that can be controlled by spiritual sense or, in my case, Divine Sense."

"Once you reach the fourth stage, you should’ve felt a meridian going into the sea of consciousness, right?"

"You need to constantly channel your Qi into your sea of consciousness, where your soul will slowly absorb it and improve."

"By the time you reach the seventh stage, you will have more than enough Qi to evolve your soul once."

"That will allow your soul to produce soul energy, which can be used as spiritual sense."

"Soul Energy is energy, while Spiritual Sense is an ability. So, without enough soul energy, you can’t use spiritual sense to do much."

"But once you reach the Foundation Establishment Realm, your spiritual sense will transform into divine sense."

"Of course, it will transform because you can now merge your soul energy with True Qi to enhance the power of your Spiritual Sense."

"This enhancement is so great that it can no longer be called spiritual sense; hence the name Divine Sense."

Hearing that, Tyler immediately asked.

"How do I enter the Foundation Establishment Realm?"

"Don’t ask me! These are questions you need to ask your teacher. Alright, we’ve reached the Inner Court."

"Along the way, you must’ve seen a lot of curious looks from other students, right?"

"Right now, not many people know about your existence in the sect, but once they do, you will face challenges and criticism if you don’t accept."

Hearing that, Tyler sneered.

"Then, let them come! I can show them the power of Heavenly Spiritual Root."

Tyler knew that sometimes showing a subservient attitude would only make others look down on you.

He didn’t just awaken the Heavenly Spiritual Root. He also contained the bloodline of a Demon King.

The moment he inherited this bloodline, his genes automatically changed.

Even though his personality didn’t change by 180 degrees, it did change to a certain degree.

That change was pride.

"I hope you can keep that attitude, but don’t let yourself become too arrogant!"

Sean nodded his head with satisfaction as he took him to a large mountain on the southern side of the valley.

This mountain was nearly four kilometers long.

"This mountain belongs to Supreme Elder Jonathan. He is the one who heard about your awakening and immediately told me to find you."

"Of course, he would’ve gone there himself if he wasn’t afraid of making your parents and your family kneel the entire time."

Tyler nodded.

This was generally the attitude towards those with two realms above them.

The only reason he didn’t need to kneel to Sean was simply due to his talent. He also noticed something else.

Whenever Elder Sean was walking, a lot of the disciples would lower their heads, while some didn’t.

He immediately thought of the sect’s management and asked.

"Elder, do all disciples from Inner Court and Core Court stay together?"

Sean nodded.

"Generally, to enter Inner Court, one must reach Seventh Stage and enter the top hundred in the Bronze Ranking."

"Or, they would’ve to participate in yearly competition and reach the top ten."

"Your sister and cousin both took the first option, challenging the positions of 86 and 93 simultaneously upon reaching the Eighth Stage."

"But if they want to become Core Student, they must enter the top Thirty in the Silver Ranking, which means they have to be between the middle and late stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm."

"Or, they could simply become a personal student of a Core Elders, Grand Elder, Vice Sect Leader, Sect Leader, or Supreme Elder, in your case."

He paused for a moment, and with a serious tone, he continued.

"You will become the personal student of a Supreme Elder. Technically, your position in the sect isn’t lower than any of the Inner Court Elders."

"If you reach Foundation Establishment Realm, your status will be the same as the Core Elders."

"But if you truly want someone to give you respect, you have to earn it. The only way for a cultivator to earn respect from others is through battles."

"Dawn Tower, Missions, Sect Battles, Competitions, Secret Realms, there are countless opportunities for you."

"Keep improving your strength and take all of those challenges."

Hearing his words, Tyler released a deep breath and bowed.

"I understand! Thank you so much, Grand Elder!"

Sean smiled as he pointed towards a large cave carved inside the mountain, saying.

"This is the Supreme Elder’s residence. It doesn’t look grand from outside, but that’s how cultivators are."

"He should’ve already felt your presence. You can directly enter the cave and greet him!"
