It was Jasper Shaw who reacted first. He scooped Chloe Sinclair into his arms and said, "I’m taking her to the hospital."

"Okay, I’ll go with you."

Landon Sinclair nodded without a second word, his expression somber.

After they went their separate ways, Landon Sinclair got into Jasper Shaw’s Bentley, and they raced to the nearest major hospital.

Adrian Dalton had been notified in advance and was already waiting for them at the entrance.

He froze for a moment when he saw Jasper Shaw get out of the car, a panicked look in his eyes as he carried a young woman.

’Have to admit,’ he thought, ’this girl is really pretty.’

"Are you done staring?"

Adrian Dalton was busy admiring Chloe Sinclair’s beauty when a cold voice spoke up right next to his ear.

Jasper Shaw didn’t elaborate, which only made Landon Sinclair more guarded.

"You must be tired as well, Mr. Sinclair. Why don’t you go home and rest?"

Landon Sinclair paused, suddenly remembering something.

Just then, the phone in his pocket began to vibrate.

The moment he answered, he heard his grandfather’s booming voice. "Landon, how is your sister?!"

Their grandfather was eighty years old but remarkably robust, especially when he was yelling. No one would believe a man his age could be so loud.

Their grandfather lived in the old family home with their grandmother, and the family usually only returned for major holidays.

Landon Sinclair flinched instinctively at the sound of the old man’s voice.

"Grandpa, Chloe’s fine."

"Then let me talk to her."

Landon glanced at the still-unconscious Chloe, his voice losing its confidence. "She can’t come to the phone right now."

A furious roar immediately followed from the other end of the line.
