It took a moment for someone to belatedly realize what she had said, their voice cracking with surprise.

"Did you just say an all-purpose robot? Doesn’t your file say your research is in condensed matter and quantum studies?"

To have suddenly crossed into three different fields—how could they not be astonished?

Venturing into a new field was like starting from scratch.

And Chloe Sinclair, against all expectations, had done it so well.

The academicians’ eyes were filled with astonishment.

"Chloe Sinclair, you’re a Genius."

Someone murmured.

Chloe Sinclair didn’t say anything.

She had heard those words far too many times.

She never believed it was because of any innate talent.

In her past life, she hadn’t understood a thing when she first encountered Physics. If Jasper Shaw hadn’t helped her, she probably would have never been able to complete her research back then.

Miles Myers was silent for a moment before speaking. "I can’t believe Joel Quincy snatched you up. But Chloe Sinclair, I hope you don’t become conceited. You still have to learn what needs to be learned. You may be gifted, but I hope you’ll take it one step at a time and complete these four years with your feet firmly on the ground."

Emberfall University and the Ivory League may lack many things, but they never lack for Genius students.

But there are always many students who are overly ambitious, thinking they can accomplish everything overnight. Unfortunately, after four years, they end up having achieved very little.

They let down all the professors’ painstaking efforts.

Chloe Sinclair was the most outstanding student they had ever seen, bar none.

None of the professors and academicians wanted to see this Genius fall during her university years.

Chloe Sinclair naturally understood the worries in the hearts of these old scientists and assured them, "Professors, please don’t worry. I will properly complete my four years of university."

With Chloe Sinclair’s repeated assurances, everyone finally felt relieved.

Soon, only Chloe Sinclair and Joel Quincy were left in the office.

With no one else around, Joel Quincy dropped his earlier reserve.

"Chloe Sinclair, are you really planning to join my research lab?" Joel Quincy paused, then continued, "You’ve seen the state of my health. I don’t know how much longer I have. Nuclear radiation is no joke. If you back out now, there’s still a chance."

Without a moment’s hesitation, Chloe Sinclair said earnestly, "Professor, I won’t regret it."

Since Chloe Sinclair had made her stance clear again, Joel Quincy naturally didn’t press the matter further.

"I contacted your second brother before I came. I heard you have a new experiment, but I don’t see your name on any of the school’s lab rosters. I was wondering if you were planning to build your own lab?"

Chloe Sinclair: "Yes, I do have a new research project. But don’t worry, it absolutely won’t interfere with the progress of your research here."

Joel Quincy paused, realizing Chloe Sinclair had misunderstood him. A smile couldn’t help but appear on his face.

"I was asking if you needed help. I may not have much money, but I can at least find you channels for experimental materials and equipment, so you don’t end up overspending."

If it were anyone else, Joel Quincy would have advised the student to focus on mastering their own major first.

But Chloe Sinclair didn’t need to.

Her professional abilities had long since far surpassed her peers, and her mind could even rival that of an academician.

"Thank you, Professor, but my lab is already built. It’s near the university."

"Near the university?"

Joel Quincy thought of something and, suddenly startled, pressed, "The white research institute about a kilometer from the university?"

"Mhm." Chloe Sinclair thought for a moment. "Someone else helped build it. He provided the money, I provide the expertise."

Research is always capital-intensive, so many people seek corporate investment to obtain funding.

However, this was the first time Joel Quincy had heard of someone building a research lab for a researcher.

He had seen Chloe Sinclair’s research lab. The land alone had to be worth over a hundred million, to say nothing of all the equipment, big and small, inside.

"Your benefactor is quite generous to you, willing to spend so much. Aren’t they afraid of taking a loss?" Joel Quincy teased half-jokingly.

"It’s fine. He’s rich."

Chloe Sinclair remembered what Jasper Shaw had said and repeated it to Joel Quincy.

Joel Quincy found Chloe Sinclair’s expression rather amusing. He didn’t ask who ’he’ was, only advising, "Be careful during your experiments. If you’re not sure about something, ask me, or ask the professors here at Emberfall University. They see you as their successor, so don’t let anything go wrong on my watch."

"Don’t worry, Professor. I’ll be careful."

Her gaze suddenly fell on Joel Quincy’s stark white hair, and she couldn’t help but add, "Professor, you need to take care of your health, too."

’If he keeps working at such a high intensity, just like in my past life, his body will collapse in less than ten years, like a pile of loose sand.’

Being urged by Chloe Sinclair twice in a row, Joel Quincy could only agree repeatedly.

After leaving the university, Chloe Sinclair returned to her small apartment.

Chloe Sinclair tapped open the full image and saw it was a photo from her military training a few days ago.

She chatted with Gabriel Sinclair for a bit, then turned off her phone to take a nap.

Classes were sparse at the beginning of the semester at Emberfall University, and she had no classes all afternoon.

So, after a two-hour nap, Chloe Sinclair went to her lab to start her research.

Putting on her usual lab coat and safety goggles, Chloe Sinclair picked up a new notebook and began to record data for a new set of tests.

The first three hundred experiments had all ended in failure, wasting a lot of materials. But Chloe Sinclair knew how precious these materials were, so she salvaged any usable parts to reassemble and test again.

She worked until the early hours of the morning, managing to run another fifty experiments.

At one in the morning, the streets were still crowded.

Chloe Sinclair went to a cake shop, bought a late-night snack, and brought it back to her apartment.

’The experiment is progressing too slowly right now. After calculating the range for the critical temperature, I still have to build the magnetic levitation model.’

The thought gave Chloe Sinclair a major headache.

Because the cost of magnetic levitation was just too high right now; the money she spent every day flowed like water.

But even after spending so much money, she had completed less than a quarter of her experimental data collection.
