The sleek, black car glided down the long highway.

「Two hours later.」

The Bentley pulled up to Emberfall’s largest five-star hotel.

However, the license plate was so conspicuous that many passersby couldn’t help but turn their heads for a second look.

"Holy shit, am I seeing things? A license plate that’s just 888? Their luck must be insane to win that in the lottery."

"No way. A plate that flashy had to have been bought for a fortune. And did you see the car? That’s a limited-edition Bentley. You can’t just buy one of those, even if you have the money."

Soon, more and more people started pulling out their phones to take pictures.

Jasper Shaw sat inside the car. Even though he couldn’t hear what people were saying outside, his mood soured.

"Ian, drive into the parking garage."

"Yes, sir."

The Bentley’s engine, which had just been shut off, started up again, and the car slowly drove into the adjacent underground garage.

Inside the car, Chloe Sinclair raised an eyebrow, unable to contain her curiosity. "The 888 plate... did you win it in the lottery or buy it for a high price?"

Jasper Shaw might not have been able to hear them, but with Chloe Sinclair’s exceptionally sharp hearing, she had heard every word from the crowd outside the car.

The passersby had been curious, and so was she. Her lovely eyes were fixed on Jasper Shaw.

Jasper Shaw’s expression remained unchanged, but his voice was deep as he asked, "You want to know?"

His voice was unique, unlike anyone else’s. It had a magnetic quality that always sent a pleasant tingle through Chloe Sinclair.

Touching her ear, Chloe Sinclair nodded vigorously, like a little chick pecking at grain.

At this, Jasper Shaw let out a soft, clearly amused laugh. "Regulations are so strict these days. Mr. Shaw is a law-abiding citizen, so of course the plate was won in the lottery."

"You won it?"

Chloe Sinclair was clearly surprised.

’In her past life with Jasper,’ she recalled, ’his garage was full of vanity plates.’

Sure enough, Jasper Shaw raised an eyebrow and said nonchalantly, "Mhm. I have plenty more plates like this at home."

Chloe Sinclair replied, "And here I thought you’d paid a fortune to have them all transferred to your name."

Jasper Shaw looked at Chloe Sinclair, his dark eyes showing a hint of confusion.

Finally, he spoke, the words coming out slowly. "I have plenty of money, but I’m not an idiot."

It was true that in high-society circles, plenty of people would pay a fortune for a special license plate.

But that was generally a habit of the nouveau riche.

Seeing Chloe Sinclair’s look of disbelief, Jasper Shaw felt immensely pleased.

He teased, "Don’t believe me?"

Chloe Sinclair nodded, then shook her head.

Finally, she let out a breath. "I just never would have guessed."

’I can’t believe Jasper Shaw’s luck is that good,’ she thought. ’He wins a vanity plate every time he enters the lottery.’

Jasper Shaw opened the car door for Chloe Sinclair. Once she was out, he said seriously, "If you like them, I’ll give you one."

Chloe Sinclair froze for a moment, then quickly shook her head.

Seeing that he had failed to give away one of his cars, Jasper Shaw felt a sharp pang of disappointment.

Behind them, Ian Winters heard his boss’s words, instinctively covered his face, and silently retreated into the car.

"I don’t drive much at school, and transportation is convenient wherever I need to go, so a car isn’t necessary. You can, however, treat me to meals as often as you like."

Her words instantly made Jasper Shaw’s eyes light up.

’He originally only owed her two meals,’ he thought. ’After that, he’d have no excuse to suddenly appear before her again.’
