Chloe Sinclair had long since ripped off Donovan Holt’s hat, revealing a ferocious face.

She had a death grip on his hair, forcing his head up. Donovan Holt’s vicious eyes were locked on her.

"I’ll fucking kill you!"

Chloe Sinclair reacted as if she’d heard a joke. Her grip suddenly loosened, and Donovan Holt instantly lost his center of gravity. His head slammed hard onto the floor, the pain leaving him stunned for several moments.

Chloe Sinclair planted her foot on his face. She bent down, leaning close to his ear, and whispered, "Do you really think you have a chance?"

Donovan Holt started to curse back, but his eyes met Chloe Sinclair’s.

When he saw her icy gaze, like a lone wolf stalking its prey, a shiver ran through him.

He opened his mouth, but not a single word came out.

"Donovan Holt, with everything you’ve done in the past ten years, a hundred bullets wouldn’t be enough."

With that, Chloe Sinclair stood up. She looked down on him as if he were an ant, her gaze utterly devoid of emotion. "What you’ll face next is the judgment of the law and the condemnation of the public."

The words had barely left her mouth when the sound of police sirens echoed from outside.

Donovan Holt’s pupils shrank. "When did you call the police?" he asked, his voice strained.

"When you weren’t looking, of course."

Chloe Sinclair shrugged and glanced innocently at the ceiling. Then, in the next instant, she kicked him.

That shut him up.

In less than a minute, the bank’s main doors were thrown open.

A dozen or so police cars were parked outside, their red and blue lights flashing relentlessly. A large crowd of onlookers had gathered.

Chloe Sinclair stood at the front. The sudden, blinding lights made her instinctively raise a hand to shield her eyes.

The responding officers were taken aback. One of them recognized Chloe Sinclair and hurried to ask, "What happened here?"

Chloe Sinclair said simply, "He’s an international fugitive. You can find his information on the official website."

With that, she calmly located a police car as if she’d done it a hundred times and climbed inside.

The officers were utterly bewildered but proceeded cautiously inside.

They found the bank lobby littered with people. Some lay motionless with limbs twisted at odd angles, while others were wailing in agony.

"Ms. Warren, what are you doing here? What exactly happened?"

’This was the second time he’d run into a situation like this.’

’The first time was because of Chloe Sinclair, and now the second time was because of her too.’

Susan Warren had worked at the station herself until a few years ago, when she retired to raise her child.

As a result, she knew quite a few people on the force.

Right now, she looked just as helpless and dumbfounded as the officers. She patted his shoulder. "Let’s talk back at the station."

Sirens blaring, the police cars headed for the station.

An incident this big at the bank was bound to make news. It was a trending topic online in less than half an hour.

The authorities, however, had no time to manage the online discourse. They simply assigned someone to monitor the situation and prevent the spread of misinformation.

Since the criminals had all sustained injuries to varying degrees, they were sent to the hospital under heavy guard.

Back at the station, the first thing the investigators did was look up the criminals’ information on the official database.

What they found was shocking.

It turned out that over the past decade, Donovan Holt and his crew were responsible for dozens of deaths and had been involved in numerous drug trafficking and abuse cases.

Police departments all over the country had been searching for them.

But they were veteran criminals who had managed to lay low, evading justice for a full decade.

If they hadn’t happened to run into Chloe Sinclair today, who knows how much longer it would have been before they were caught.

"Are these guys even human? They’re the ones behind the family annihilation case that shocked the nation!"

The case from five years ago had caused a national uproar. The surveillance footage captured no images of the perpetrators; the police only managed to identify them thanks to three fingerprints left at the scene.

What’s more, Donovan Holt and his crew had been exceptionally brutal; they had even murdered a three-year-old child.

"The law will punish people like that," Chloe Sinclair said.

Despite her words, Chloe Sinclair was hardly any calmer than the officers.

On the way to the station, Eight had recounted every one of Donovan Holt’s atrocities to her.

It was as if she had personally witnessed the deaths of all twenty-four victims.

Her back was now drenched in a cold sweat.

"These demons will eventually get the punishment they deserve."

One of the officers let out a long sigh, though his heart was still pounding with fear.

However, Chloe Sinclair’s eyes narrowed slightly as she spoke slowly, "Good is repaid with good, and evil with evil. If it hasn’t been repaid, it’s only because the time has not yet come."

’Now that they’ve met me, their time has come!’

Chloe Sinclair dutifully recounted everything that had happened inside the bank.

The officer taking her statement was so astonished his jaw dropped.

Ultimately, he couldn’t help but disapprove of her actions.

"That was far too dangerous. Every single one of them had a gun. What if one of them had shot you when you weren’t looking?"

Chloe Sinclair replied without hesitation, "I couldn’t afford to wait. It would have taken you at least half an hour to get to the bank. By then, it would’ve been too late."

She paused. "They had a bomb in their bag."

Once the bomb was activated, the situation would be irreversible.

She cherished her life, so she chose a slim chance of survival over certain death.

The officer looked at the resolve in Chloe Sinclair’s eyes, momentarily at a loss for words.

She saw Chloe to the gates of Emberfall University. "Chloe," she said before leaving, "you have to be careful from now on. We don’t know if they have accomplices. Try to have people with you when you go out, or just stay in for a while. I’m worried someone might try to get revenge."

The surveillance footage from today had already been posted by several viral media accounts and was now all over the internet.

Chloe Sinclair hadn’t checked her phone, so she had no idea the news had spread so quickly.

She knew Aunt Warren meant well, so she just nodded. "Thank you. I’ll be careful."

’In truth, she wasn’t afraid at all.’
