Ethan Sinclair didn’t drive away until he saw the two of them walk through the school gates.

Nina Sinclair had held her tongue the entire ride. Seeing Ethan Sinclair finally leave, she couldn’t help but ask, "Chloe, why are you so different from before?"

"How am I different? Is there something wrong with me now?"

After speaking, Chloe Sinclair stared at her without blinking, her black pupils like an abyss that no one dared to look into directly.

Summer Beckett’s deskmate, Ken Lawson, just got back from the bathroom. Seeing him act this way toward Chloe Sinclair, he couldn’t help but look at him with contempt. "Summer, are you sick in the head? Bowing to that ugly girl? Can you stop embarrassing all the guys?"

Although Summer Beckett didn’t like to pay attention in class and his test scores were a mess, he was rich and easygoing, so his deskmate wasn’t afraid of making him angry.

Summer Beckett, who had been prepared for a difficult request, was taken aback. His brown eyes filled with confusion, but fearing she would go back on her word, he immediately agreed. "Fine. A deal’s a deal."

Chloe Sinclair smiled faintly, feeling much more at ease.
