The moment the words were out, Chloe Sinclair shot out a roundhouse kick.

The thug didn’t have time to react, instinctively raising his arm to block. But when Chloe Sinclair’s leg made contact, it didn’t feel like a limb—it felt like a bar of solid steel.

Dumbfounded, everyone watched as the thug closest to Chloe Sinclair was sent flying into the wall with a single kick, out cold.

But they were all armed. She stood no chance against them.

Chloe Sinclair glanced back, then turned to face the furious thugs, the corner of her mouth lifting into a faint, almost imperceptible smile.

She taunted, "Garbage!"

The word was barely out of her mouth before she leaped into the air, dodging an attack. An instant later, she appeared before one of the thugs, her fingers clamped tightly around his wrist.

There was a sharp CRACK.

The thug screamed in agony as the gun fell from his hand.

"Damn it! Kill her!"

The leader of the thugs finally came to his senses and ordered his remaining men to attack together.

Right at that moment, the system suddenly issued a random quest.

A glint appeared in Chloe Sinclair’s eyes.

With that, he slowly began to squeeze the trigger.

The leader instinctively paused, then grew annoyed. "Wait for my ass..."

But before he could finish, he heard a sickening CRACK from his own elbow.

"AARGH—"

The leader screamed, collapsing to the ground and clutching his twisted arm, wailing in agony.

Chloe Sinclair bent down and picked up the gun the man had tried so desperately to get his hands on. She dusted it off and slowly rose to her feet.

Her dark eyes swept over the thugs writhing and howling on the floor, the mockery in her gaze deepening. "Haven’t you ever heard that the villain always dies from monologuing?"

’He was just about to fire, but he actually stopped just because I said one word. A chump like that is just cannon fodder.’

Hearing this, the lead thug, who had been howling on the ground, was so stunned by Chloe Sinclair’s words he even forgot to scream in pain.

His eyes filled with venom as he spat out a threat. "When I get out of here, I’m going to fucking kill you, Chloe Sinclair! I’ll remember you..."

He didn’t get to finish. Chloe Sinclair kicked him in the head, and the pain left him so confused he didn’t know whether to clutch his arm or cradle his head. He looked utterly ridiculous.

A small smirk played on Chloe Sinclair’s lips as she reeled off a terrifying series of facts. "Sam Holt. Real name, Donovan Holt. Ten years ago, you killed someone during a robbery and fled. You’ve been on the run for a decade. In that time, you met these ’brothers’ of yours and committed 72 criminal acts, big and small..."

Chloe Sinclair’s eyes darkened. She ambled over to Donovan Holt and slowly crouched down. Her smile widened, but her voice grew colder and colder.
