A candidate quickly came to Chloe Sinclair’s mind.

Thinking of Jasper Shaw, a grin spread across Chloe Sinclair’s face, and she couldn’t help but let out a laugh.

When she caught herself, she shook her head in resignation.

Although she had already chosen an investor, she didn’t have much of a connection with Jasper Shaw at the moment. Therefore, she needed to come up with a perfect plan.

As Chloe Sinclair was deep in thought, she suddenly heard a classmate calling for her from outside.

Before her stood a plainly dressed old woman, likely in her sixties.

Her complexion was sallow, and her hands were as withered as sticks of wood, seemingly just skin wrapped around bone. Several large, blue veins bulged, making for an unsettling sight.

An alarm blared in Chloe Sinclair’s mind.

Sure enough, the old woman, who had been keeping her head down, suddenly looked up. Barely four and a half feet tall, her raised eyes met Chloe Sinclair’s gaze perfectly.

Her withered gaze was like that of a decrepit old snake, determined to bite you even in death.

She pulled a fruit knife from behind her back with a blade at least ten centimeters long.

Even with the system’s help, the old woman’s movements seemed to slow to a crawl in her eyes, as if someone had hit the pause button.

But Chloe Sinclair still broke out in a cold sweat.

She wanted to dodge, but she was surrounded by classmates. If she moved aside, the person next to her would surely be harmed.

Chloe Sinclair’s expression darkened. She looked at the old woman, a flash of ferocity in her eyes.

And so, this is what happened next.

Before any of the classmates could react, Chloe Sinclair, with sharp eyes and quick reflexes, grabbed the old woman’s hand, executed a shoulder throw, and slammed her hard onto the floor before snatching the knife away.

"Oww, why did you hit me!" The old woman hadn’t expected Chloe Sinclair to see her coming. Now, with no other options, she could only lie on the ground and cry out in pain.

"Oh?" Chloe Sinclair raised an eyebrow slightly. She crouched down, her gaze shifting to the end of the hallway as she pointed. "There. See that? It’s a security camera."

The old woman’s pained cries stopped short. She stared at Chloe Sinclair in disbelief.

At that moment, Chloe Sinclair very calmly took out her phone and dialed the police.

Kyle Stern had been teaching another class, but when he heard a student from his own class was in trouble, he dropped everything and rushed over.

By now, a crowd of students had formed a circle. The old woman was still on the floor, unable to get up, but was spewing endless vitriol at Chloe Sinclair.

"Chloe Sinclair, you wretched girl! You’ll die a miserable death!"

"If it wasn’t for you, my daughter would never have been arrested! My daughter is such a good girl, you must have framed her!"

"She could have been Mrs. Shaw! It’s all your fault! You ruined my daughter!"

After listening for a while, Chloe Sinclair finally understood who the old woman was talking about.
