Eight’s blue eyes twinkled in the system interface. Seeing this, Chloe instantly knew that Eight was incredibly excited.

Her curiosity piqued, she raised an eyebrow.

Eight didn’t keep her in suspense and chuckled. ’Boss Shaw reported prostitution happening at Club Nocturne. The police should be on their way over right now.’

"PFFT!"

Chloe couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing.

"I can’t believe someone could be so vicious."

Eight nodded gravely. ’You bet. Boss Shaw even called over a dozen press agencies. He plans on getting the exclusive scoop.’

Chloe laughed uncontrollably upon hearing that.

She could already imagine what tomorrow’s front-page headline would be.

"Does Mr. Shaw know about this?"

Seth might be Mr. Shaw’s only son, and the old man did dote on him in his youth. But Mr. Shaw was no fool. Ever since Seth drove his first wife to her death over a mistress, Mr. Shaw had come close to disowning him completely.

"If I’m not mistaken, Mr. Shaw is probably heading over to Club Nocturne with his cane as we speak, right?"

Eight paused, impressed by Chloe’s sharp intellect.

’Yup. And knowing Mr. Shaw’s personality, he’ll probably tell the media to get every possible angle. The more humiliating, the better.’

Chloe wasn’t particularly surprised to hear that.

After all, having married into the Shaw Family in her past life, she’d seen this kind of thing happen often enough.

「The next day」

As Chloe was leaving the lab, her phone went DING with a new message notification.

She picked up her phone and, just as she’d expected, the top headline was about Seth Shaw being arrested by police during an anti-vice raid at Club Nocturne. The entire club had been shut down as well.

’I wonder if the owner of Club Nocturne is crying his eyes out in a bathroom somewhere.’

Club Nocturne was a playground for Emberfall’s wealthy elite. Forget a month’s revenue; in a single day, the club pulled in at least seven figures.

Now that it was shut down, there was no telling when it might reopen.

And even if it did, the rich scions who frequented it would probably be too scared to party there anymore.

However, Seth Shaw wasn’t the only one arrested in the raid. The police had also caught a dozen other members of high society in the act. Furthermore, the official police social media account didn’t name anyone, and the photos they posted were pixelated.

But that didn’t stop internet users from digging up the identities of some of the people in the photos.
