"Let go!"

Mr. Rhodes’s face was grim, his hawk-like eyes staring intently at Yuna Rhodes. His expression was as black as ink.

Hearing this, Yuna Rhodes’s tight grip on her father’s hand suddenly slackened. Her eyes were vacant and filled with tears.

She knew it was over for her.

Zack observed the two of them and finally said, "Mr. Rhodes, how about you come with us as well?"

When Mr. Rhodes heard this, his heart leaped into his throat as if he’d been caught red-handed. He said hurriedly, "I haven’t committed any crime, why should I go with you? I’m not going!"

With that, he reached out, yanked Yuna Rhodes out from behind him, and said frantically, "Arrest her! Leave me out of it."

The police officers were speechless.

Zack looked at Mr. Rhodes as if he were a lunatic.

"Mr. Rhodes, you’re Ms. Rhodes’s legal guardian. You are required to accompany her."

Mr. Rhodes breathed a sigh of relief.

But then he remembered his bizarre behavior just now and felt a pang of guilt.

"I’d rather not go."

Zack looked troubled. "Ms. Rhodes is your daughter..."

"She is not!"

Mr. Rhodes’s eyes suddenly shot open. He raised his hand and, without the slightest hesitation, slapped Yuna Rhodes across the face. "I have no such daughter!" he said furiously.

For a moment, everyone was stunned.

Watching this dramatic display of "placing justice above family," Zack opened his mouth to speak, then thought better of it.

Suddenly, the phone in his pocket rang.

Zack glanced at the caller ID, shot his colleague a meaningful look, and turned away to answer the phone.

"Yes. All right. Understood, Chief."

Three minutes later, Zack turned back around, his expression grim. "Mr. Rhodes, I’m afraid you absolutely must come with us this time."

An hour earlier, the police station had suddenly received an email.

At first, the chief had assumed it was spam, but his eyes widened when he saw the subject line.

He clicked it open and was stunned to find detailed records of the Rhodes Group’s tax evasion over the last several years.

The dates, the amounts—everything was recorded with perfect clarity.

With these records in hand, investigating the matter was simple. The chief was well-connected and easily confirmed the dirty details.

Remembering that Zack was on his way to see the suspect, he made a call and told him to bring Mr. Rhodes in for questioning too.

Meanwhile, Mr. Rhodes was still utterly dumbfounded.

His hand was frozen in mid-air, and he was clearly dazed.

"Wha... What?"

Zack stated gravely, "Tax evasion. Let’s go."

Mr. Rhodes’s face instantly turned ashen. He glared at Zack, looking like he wanted to skin him alive.

"Staring at me won’t do you any good."

Zack wasn’t about to fall for some rich man’s intimidation tactics. He shot his colleague a meaningful look.

His colleague took the cue and said, "Mr. Rhodes, let’s go."

Right after, the father and daughter were escorted into the police car.

The villa complex was full of wealthy residents, and the nearest neighbors had already noticed the commotion, peeking out to see what was going on.

Upon seeing this, Mr. Rhodes, who had been resisting getting into the car, suddenly spotted his many neighbors watching. He quickly covered his face and scrambled into the police car of his own accord.

Zack was left speechless.

Back at the station, Yuna Rhodes and her father were led to separate interrogation rooms.

Faced with conclusive evidence, Mr. Rhodes confessed to everything in under half an hour.

Yuna Rhodes, however, stubbornly refused to admit she was the one who had made the post.

"So what if you traced the IP address? I already said it wasn’t me! Are you really going to pin the crime on me just because of an IP address?"

"I’m going to expose you all! You don’t deserve to be cops!"

Yuna Rhodes sat in the interrogation room, her eyes red and puffy. To an unknowing observer, she looked like she had been grievously wronged.

This gave the female officer interrogating her a headache.
