A colleague was walking over with a microphone.

"Mr. Bateman, may I ask how you feel about this heroic deed, that helped so many cute dogs regain their lives?"

On camera, Christopher Bateman was still wearing the hospital’s patient gown. His handsome face was even more dashing on camera. Even the young dashing raising stars were no match.

Looking at the TV, Janice Gladwell could not help walking up and gently caressing his face across the screen.

He seemed to be recovering very well.

Her face was no longer as pale as before. Instead, it was filled with vitality. She was glad that he had recovered so well.

"That’s great!"

Otherwise, she would have hated herself to death. Janice’s heart finally calmed down when she saw that he was perfectly fine, on camera. It was peace that others could never attain no matter how hard they tried to convey it.

Finally, she could have a good night’s sleep. With that thought, a wisp of a gratified smile curled up onto the corners of her mouth.

Just then, a woman suddenly appeared on the screen. When she saw who the woman was, Janice was stunned. "Is that not Sophie Valen?"

She was also being interviewed. She stood next to Christopher and the reporter’s microphone was stretched out to her.

"I heard that Miss Valen was also at the scene at that time. Can you describe the situation to us please?"

"Oh, yes, I was at the scene too..."

The more Janice listened, the more she felt something was wrong.

How could Sophie Valen be at the scene?

She remembered the situation clearly. Except for those gangsters, there were only her and Christopher.

All of a sudden, Benjamin Taylor’s words rang in her mind. "Have you ever thought that maybe he doesn’t care about you anymore?"

A thought came to her, she quickly ran to the door and knocked on it.

"I want to see Benjamin Taylor. I want to see Benjamin Taylor."

However, no one paid any attention to her shouts.

After shouting for a while, she finally sat down on the floor, tired.

Meanwhile, in the hospital ward, the reporters had just left.

Christopher Bateman looked at Sophie Valen and asked, "Did you just say that you

were at the scene?"

It was strange. Why was there no trace of this woman called ’Janice’ on his phone?

In the villa on the other side of town.

Janice Gladwell squatted down, unable to eat for an entire day. She could not eat anymore. As soon as she thought of the scenes in the news, she lost her appetite.

Why did it turn out this way?

She thought about it for a day but still could not figure it out.

"Does Chris really not care about me?"

"No, it’s impossible. He is not like this."

She could deny it, but suddenly, the door opened, and the sound of footsteps could be heard.

She thought it was food delivery again, so she did not even raise her head and said, "I’m not eating. You can take it away."

"Janice..."

Unexpectedly, Benjamin Taylor’s voice rang above her.

She was stunned for a second then quickly stood up. When she saw Benjamin walking over, she rushed up without hesitation. "Are you here to take me out?"

Her eyes were full of expectations.

Benjamin did not say a word. He stared at Janice. She seemed to be in a worse state than the night he saw her.

His heart ached, but he was still very rational. "Janice, you know that you can only walk out of here if you agree."

Hearing this, Janice shook her head frantically. "Impossible. I can’t agree to it. I beg you. Please get me out. I just want to see him. Please!" She begged.

Benjamin had never seen Janice ever lose control of herself. Even when he had left and then came back, she never acted this way. However, today, she had gone berserk for that man.

He did not know whether he should be sad or jealous, but he knew that no matter how he felt, he could not bear to see Janice like this.

"No, we only listen to the Chairman." The guard insisted.

Benjamin did not say anything more. He just looked at Janice Gladwell who was standing behind him and met her pleading eyes. He made up his mind, held her hand tightly, and walked forward regardless.

The guards did not expect that he would force his way out. By the time they reacted and stepped forward to stop him, it was already too late. The car crashed through and no one dared to stop it. Just like that, Benjamin barged out of the compound taking Janice with him.

At the hospital.

It was already late into the evening.

Christopher Bateman was lying on the hospital bed. That sentence suddenly came to his mind.

"That’s the person he had risked his life to save."

So, where was the woman he had risked his life to save?

As he was thinking about this, he fell asleep unconsciously.

Meanwhile, outside the hospital.

A black Phaeton stopped at the entrance of the hospital, and Benjamin was in the driver’s seat. He glanced at Janice, who could not wait to unbuckle her seat belt, frowned and said. "I won’t go in with you."

She opened the door and got out of the car. Without looking back, she rushed straight into the hospital.

After being imprisoned in the villa for a few days, Janice felt that even the air in the hospital was fresher. She was wearing a hospital gown and running all the way to the ward. It was also because of the gown that she could move so quickly and freely in the hospital.

She followed Benjamin’s instructions and soon arrived at the door of Christopher’s room. Probably because it was the latter half of the night, there was no one guarding the door. She pushed the door open and walked in.

There was no light in the room. Only a dim yellow night light at the head of the bed. With the dim light, she could see the person lying on the bed. And she knew that it was none other than Christopher, whom she had yearned for day and night.

He laid there with his eyes closed, as if he was asleep. She slowed down her pace, for fear of waking him up, and walked quietly to his bedside.

Under the dim light of the bedside lamp, she finally saw his face clearly.

It was even more ruddy than what she had seen on TV. She could not resist reaching out to touch it, but before her hand could touch his face, he suddenly opened his eyes.

Caught off guard, their gazes met.

Janice was surprised and happy. She stared into Christopher’s eyes and could not help throwing herself into his arms.

"Honey, you’re finally awake."

She hugged his shoulders tightly and pressed her face against his broad chest. Her longing tears flowed down onto his gown. She could not control herself out of joy.

Christopher was at a loss as to what to do when she threw herself into his arms. He felt the wetness on his clothes and came back to his senses. The first thought that came to his mind was: Who was this woman? Why did she call him ’honey’?

"Who are you?"

He said slowly.
