Benjamin stared at Janice in disbelief. They were in each other’s arms, yet she had the childish idea that it was just a friendly hug?

He just couldn’t understand Janice sometimes. He didn’t expect that a person like her, who was so righteous about love and hate, would turn a blind eye to what just happened.

"Do you really think so?"

Janice said without hesitation, "That’s what I think. What’s wrong? Do you still want to control what your subordinates think?"

Benjamin was hurt by her callous accusation. He had only caught up with her because he was concerned.

He said in a deep voice, "Janice, don’t get me wrong. I just don’t want you to be hurt. If you think my words are unnecessary, just pretend that I didn’t say anything."

With this, he put the bouquet back in her hand and turned to leave.

Janice stood there, watching him leave. She closed her eyes.

She looked down at the bouquet in her hand. For some reason, her vision suddenly blurred.

She held back her emotions and raised her head high, trying to force the tears in her eyes to not fall.

Thinking of this, she sniffed and was about to turn around when she heard Christopher’s voice.

"Janice."

Christopher had returned to the studio but he couldn’t find Janice. He asked her colleagues and found out that she had left. He caught up in a hurry and saw Janice outside the TV station.

Christopher stopped behind her, panting. "Why didn’t you wait for me?"

Hearing his familiar voice, Janice closed her eyes. When she calmed down, she turned to look at Christopher and said, "I thought you left."

Her voice was very low, and her gaze only lingered on his face for a second before she looked away.

Christopher didn’t notice her temperamental behavior. Instead, he reached out and rubbed the top of her head. "Silly girl, I wouldn’t leave without you."

However, his eyes fell on the bouquet in her hand, and he felt unhappy again. He frowned and said, "That bouquet looks ugly. Are you sure you want to hold it?"

Janice did not understand the meaning behind his words. She just said honestly, "It

was a gift from the station. It would be mean to throw it away. I’m taking it back."

Christopher wanted to say, "Since you like flowers so much, I’ll buy some for you."

But when he thought that even if he bought her some, he would not be the first person to give her flowers, he felt extremely agitated.

He didn’t want to copy Benjamin and give flowers.

"It’s up to you."

He strode toward the car in a bad mood.

Janice’s heart was heavy. She did not notice his mood change and followed him with a frown.

She opened the car door, put the bouquet in, and sat down in the passenger seat.

She didn’t notice the cold look in Christopher’s eyes.

Neither of them spoke on the way. The silent atmosphere in the car was very tense.

Christopher held the steering wheel firmly in his hand. In the rearview mirror, the bunch of flowers looked unusually irritating.

He raised his hand irritably and adjusted the angle of the mirror. As he did so, he inadvertently caught a glimpse of Janice’s unhappy face. He frowned and looked over. "What’s wrong?"

Janice was looking out of the window. When she heard Christopher’s question, she looked away and shook her head. "Nothing, I’m fine."

She lowered her head and her tone sounded petulant. She did not want him to see anything from her expression.

Christopher didn’t think too much about it. He glanced at the time.

"What do you want to eat?"

Janice was disinterested. "Whatever."

It didn’t take long for the car to stop at the door of a nearby restaurant.

Christopher got out of the car and walked over to open the passenger car door.

"The dishes here are quite good."

Janice nodded and followed him in.

The two of them chose a quiet corner to sit down, and the waiter gave them a menu.

Janice looked through it halfheartedly.

Christopher was sitting and thinking of the bunch of flowers in his car. The more he thought about it, the more unhappy he felt.

Finally, he got up and said "I’m going out for a while."

Janice didn’t think too much about it. She looked at dishes and didn’t have any appetite, so she simply put the menu down.

Forget it. She would wait for Christopher to return and order for both of them.

At this moment, Christopher walked out of the restaurant and ran straight to his car.

He opened the back car door and reached out to take out the bouquet on the seat. He looked around, saw the trash can on the roadside, and then walked over to throw it in.

Not long after, he returned to the restaurant and sat down. He looked at Janice with a relaxed expression and said, "What did you order?"

Janice lowered her gaze, and said in a slightly petulant tone, "You order. I can eat anything."

Christopher glanced at her listless face and ordered a few dishes.

After the waiter left, he looked at Janice and said, "Wasn’t the show very successful? Why are you unhappy?"

Janice’s heart sank, but she didn’t want him to notice anything. She replied, "Maybe I’m a little tired."

She looked away guiltily.

Hearing her words, Christopher didn’t doubt her and his eyes softened. "I’ll take you home later and you can have a good rest."

Janice nodded.

The meal was uneventful.

When the car parked at the house, Janice got out of the car, but then she thought of the bouquet in the back seat. She opened the back car door to take it when she found that the bouquet was gone.

She could not help but was surprised. It was strange that it had disappeared.

While she was wondering, Christopher called out, "Why haven’t you come in yet?"

Janice paused for a moment before closing the rear door and walked into the house.

Janice did not ask where the bouquet of flowers had gone. After all, it was just a bunch of flowers. Compared to the stone in her heart, it was not worth mentioning.

She was a little upset so she didn’t follow Christopher upstairs, but went straight to the study.

Whenever she was upset, she tried to read books to calm down.

But she found that this time, no matter how hard she tried, no words were being absorbed in her head.

Christopher frowned and asked, "Why did you take so long?"

Janice paused. "Was my shower long?"

Christopher frowned. "Come here."

He held his hand out to her.

Janice hesitated for a moment before slowly walking over.

Christopher pulled her to sit by the bed and took the bath towel from her to wipe her hair dry.

Janice didn’t refuse, she just sat there and let him do it.

The hairdryer whistled. After a while, it quieted down. Christopher put the hairdryer aside, then looked at her and asked.

"Is there something on your mind?"

Janice looked into Christopher’s questioning eyes. She hesitated before shaking her head. "No."

She looked down and stared at her own feet, not looking into Christopher’s eyes.

Christopher frowned. "You definitely have something on your mind, it’s written all over your face."

Janice was stunned. "Was it that obvious?"

She touched her face subconsciously.

It was this action that confirmed Christopher’s suspicions. He looked at Janice with a meaningful expression in his eyes.

"Janice, have you forgotten what I told you before? If you have anything to say, say it out. Don’t bury it in your heart."

Janice then turned to look at Christopher. This was the first time she had gazed straight into his eyes after seeing that scene in Denise’s office.

But what did I want to ask?

Should I ask him what kind of relationship he had with Denise?

Or was I going to ask him directly why he was hugging Denise?> Her mind was in a mess.

She wanted to ask, but she didn’t know where to start.

That night, Janice didn’t sleep well. When she woke up in the morning, her eyes were a little swollen.

She went to wash up, dressed herself, and told Christopher.

"I have something that I need to go earlier to do. So I’m going now."

She took the car key and walked to the door.
