She found a quiet spot to answer the call, and before she could speak, Shang Jing’s urgent voice came through:

“Wen Zhi, save me!”

Wen Zhi raised an eyebrow, kept silent, and let Shang Jing sweat it out a bit longer.

“Wen Zhi? Are you listening?” Shang Jing’s tone was very urgent, “I have an extremely urgent matter right now, I beg you to help, I will definitely fulfill the promise I made to you last time, I guarantee it!”

Xie Jinyi didn’t show much alarm on her face, because Wen Zhi seemed too ordinary to pose a threat, “Did Shang Jing send you to save the day?”

Wen Zhi nodded again, “Yes.”

Xie Jinyi crossed her arms, “Do you know who I am?”

Wen Zhi smiled innocently, “I do. The in-demand superstar, Xie Jinyi. You can see your posters all over the subway at the square building. You’re even more beautiful in person than on the posters.”

“Really?” Xie Jinyi seemed a bit charmed when complimented on her looks.

Inside the room, Shang Jing was eavesdropping at the door. Was Wen Zhi complimenting Xie Jinyi? What was she planning?

Xie Jinyi’s hostility toward Wen Zhi lessened a bit and she said, “Since I have taken a liking to you, you should leave. Don’t get involved in the private matters between Shang Jing and me; it’s none of your business.”
