"Meet, meet!"

Wen Zhi raced over, "I know her, she’s my friend. Has she already arrived?"

Aunt Xu nodded, "Yes, she’s in the courtyard, and Mr. Nian too."

"Damn it!" Wen Zhi clenched her fists and hurried outside.

In the vast courtyard,

Meng Fan, who had just arrived a while ago, was chatting with Nian Xun.

"Zhizhi has been living here ever since she came to Laihai City?" Meng Fan asked politely.

Nian Xun nodded, "Yes."

Meng Fan looked around, "This place has quite a nice environment."

After quietly listening, Nian Xun mentioned, "I can allow you to see her, but I can also prevent you from seeing her."

Meng Fan’s face turned cold in an instant, "Mr. Nian, what do you mean?"

"Exactly as it sounds, isn’t it clear?" Nian Xun’s smile didn’t reach his eyes, "Remember, Miss Meng, when you see Wen Zhi, don’t mention her past to her, including her parents, at least for now."

Meng Fan immediately asked, "Why, you need to give me a valid reason, don’t you?"

Nian Xun: "She is currently a patient and will soon undergo another treatment. I do not wish for any complications before that. As her good friend, Miss Meng, for her complete recovery, I trust you can understand."

After hearing Nian Xun’s words, Meng Fan’s brows furrowed tightly.

He heard the hurried footsteps and knew Wen Zhi was coming out, so he stepped aside.

Nian Xun stood by with crossed arms, not intending to interrupt them, but also without any intention of leaving.

Wen Zhi left with Meng Fan, disappearing from his view.

Inside the bedroom,

"Meng Fan, take a seat," Wen Zhi pointed to the sofa near the foot of the bed.

Meng Fan sat down uncomfortably, her legs together, and her sitting posture was very proper. Perhaps influenced by Nian Xun’s words, she felt a heaviness in her heart.

She looked up at Wen Zhi, "Have you been living here these past few months?" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Wen Zhi nodded, "Yes."

Meng Fan asked again, "Is it... with Mr. Nian that you’re living here?"

Wen Zhi shook her head, "No, not like that."

She moved around to sit opposite Meng Fan, "Nian Xun doesn’t live here. He’s very busy and only comes to see me occasionally."

Meng Fan sighed in relief, "That’s good, very good."

Relieved that things were not as she had thought, Meng Fan was more at ease, and her nerves eased, "I thought you broke up with Cousin and got together with this Mr. Nian."

Wen Zhi puzzled, "Cousin?"

That question stunned Meng Fan for a couple of seconds, but she quickly responded, "No, you and my cousin fell in love naturally."

Wen Zhi got up and sat next to Meng Fan, "Was it him chasing me, or me chasing him?"

Meng Fan thought carefully before replying, "I don’t know who chased whom first, but I do know you had a crush on my cousin first."

Wen Zhi’s mouth hung open, "Go on, tell me about it."

Meng Fan hesitated and stammered, unwilling to speak.

Wen Zhi leaned in to peer into Meng Fan’s eyes, and Meng Fan felt she couldn’t keep hiding it, so she preemptively said, "You can’t get mad at me for this once you regain your memory."

After Wen Zhi assured she wouldn’t be angry, Meng Fan dared to continue, "I never knew about it before; you kept it so well hidden. Since your disappearance, I couldn’t find you and went to the Wen Family’s place several times, until by chance... I swear it was just by chance, I saw a passage in your diary."

Wen Zhi listened as if it were someone else’s story, asking eagerly, "What was it?"

"The day he stood on stage to speak, my heart raced. Even though it was such a formal occasion, I couldn’t help but have wicked thoughts of stripping off his clothes."

Without naming names, Wen Zhi still blushed deeply upon hearing the passage.

Meng Fan scoffed, "Because you had a photo tucked into that page, exactly of you secretly taking pictures of my cousin from below the stage."
